First of all I would like to thank all men and women who serve in the military and have made sacrifices to the extent of giving their lives. You have my sincerest gratitude. Second of all, i would like to say if you are a woman, don't join the military. If you can't act like a goddamn adult and keep your legs closed, get the fuck out of the military. Your a fucking disgrace to the country and your recklessness puts my brother in danger. I am sick of women wanting equal rights to join the...
@freethinker424 military, and when they join, they get pregnant. Now obviously, i realize this does not apply to all women, however it is a big enough problem to be addressed. Furthermore, understand I am not talking about women who get raped, as these women have my sympathy.
I spent 4 years in the Navy back in 1965-69 & all this hype about females on ships & in fighting positions is really disturbing. I sure hope we don't get into an all-out war, if we do all those gals are going to cost us dearly. Call me old navy, call me an old fart, call me sexist, but there's no way the ladies are going to hold up if things get really hot. Women do not belong in a fight. All this politically correct crap isn't going to cut it in a real war. I don't like this new Navy.
@beckybby21 You think these women are awesome? It's all fluff and the macho female myth. In battle they will just get in the way and cost lives. It's sickening to see so many women trying to be men. If the military told the true story of women in the military people would be shocked and disgusted.
@tdfisk Sounds like you've never actually served in the military with women. The military these days would not operate without the women who serve, as officers, warrants, chiefs, and enlisted. Women do the same jobs as men in the majority of ratings available, from engineering to weapons to ship driving and flying. Think I don't know what I'm talking about? I'm a female Naval officer, warfare qualified, with 10 years in including 2 years enlisted. Women are here to stay, and they are needed.
@atsammy You think after 10,000 years of men fighting wars, all of a sudden we can't do it without women? You believe the feminist myth. I wonder how many times they brought a female to an aid station with her fetus hanging out of her gut. Noticed that not one female pilot has an air to air kill? How many have earned the highest metals? I haven't heard any. They had to fabricate a female hero with Jessica Lynch. It's all PC bullshit. You don't belong there Miss Naval Officer.
@tdfisk For one thing, no one earns metals. They earn MEDALS. And for another, most of us, including the fantastic men I have served with, don't do it for the awards. We do it to serve our country, as you did 50 years ago. Times have changed, but don't you dare insult US, who have given our lives, our limbs, our time away from our families in this last decade and beyond, by saying that we do not deserve the same opportunity to serve our country. I'm sorry that you don't like it.
@atsammy This isn't about spelling, how trivial. It's wasn't about earning awards you dipshit, it's about walking the walk instead of talking talk. Are you offended by what I say? Poor little girl, the enemy isn't going to give a shit. Have you been in hand to hand combat? I have. Your inexperience is showing crystal clear. War is never about serving your country or defending democracy, it's about fucking killing another human being so you can go home. The reality hasn't hit you. Cont
@tdfisk cont. Just because you don't see it on the casualty lists doesn't mean that women haven't been doing their part on the ground, on ships and in the air, and they are doing a damned fine job. I do belong here. I defy you to tell me to my face that I don't. Better yet, tell that to the 2 Star I work for, and to the women who serve under me.
@atsammy I would be more than happy to tell you to your face and the 2 star you work for. I've heard from so many in the Navy and who've served in the wars and they are telling me the truth. Women are catered to and there's bad stuff going on that will never be in the news. You try to promote a fantasy because the American people would never tolerate the truth. Care to mention all the rapes on ships & screwing higher ranks for privileges? The truth is very ugly.
@colo250 You job description was cooking, cleaning, and sex. They didn't care to do it, and I can't say I blame them. I wouldn't desire a man who thought that's all I was good for, either. I personally do not think women in Combat Arms is a good idea for a variety of reasons. Don't see what that has to do with this video.
@froggymicwop Yes. It has to do with the anotomical differences between women and men. It's not sexist, the stress from the training would literally tear their muscles in half. Not kidding. ICU for like 6 months. Maybe longer. (I'm wrong about the times. I'm not a doctor.)
@chowder130 clearly you're not. nor do you know what sexism is if you think banning someone from something because of sex is not it. that's like saying it's not racist to have a whites only military. hell they're so dark their fellow soldiers might lose them! lets all make up half assed excuses to keep out people we want to feel superior to!
I joined the Army right out of HS, when I finished my contract, I joined the Navy to see how the easy half lived. Gendering norming was the standard operating procedure for women in the Army, I only saw it in practiced a couple of times in the Navy. So I think these Navy women are severing equally as well as the men. Thanks for your service Erica,Jessica and Megan
...also wanted to say congrats to Luna, and Corona, for being part of the best A-School class, and all the great times we all had with those damn hard tests!
im a phreshman in high skool and i absolutely cannot wait til i finish so i can join the navy. ppl tell me im to cute or too prissy to be in the navy but those girls are really pretty and look at what they do, i want to an aviation rescue swimmer or an aviation warfare specialist! i can't wait til i join!!!!!=)
im in the navy now i joined about a year ago, im an aviation electrician, before you join make sure this is what you want to do, i have met many people who thought this is what they wanted and now they are trying to figure out how to get out. my advice. find someone you trust you can talk to in the military aboout joining, and get all the info you can, and make sure you are physically fit! cannot express that enough
You need to contact your local Naval Warfare Specialist Mentor. There is one for every recruiting district. I am the Mentor for Portland, and a Rescue Swimmer. Contact your local Navy Recruiter and they can put you in contact with him. The mentor will prepare you physically for your school as well as the physical screening test you will need to do to become contracted as a AW or rescue swimmer.
Oh the sweet sea story, sailor smack memories.I remember wanting to do there job but being told that my ASSVAB was too low.,Instead i got sent to deck.True irony for being the son of an Air force tech sgt..HAY HOW DID YOU GET INTO THE NAVY (ask pissy joe navy).Hardly anybody wanted to join in the late 9E's before 911.If i ever need to get a real job i will just join the MSLC and get paid 7 to 8 times more to drive ships than when i was in the navy
No sweat. College degrees get you officer commissions. I have an AAS so I'll be going to basic as an EO3. After I'm done with my 2 years of training (after basic) I will be promoted to an EO5. An EO5 with college creds! w00t!
Thanks to affirmative action policiies you can never tell if someone earned their spot these days. Who wants to bet that they got these jobs over more qualified male sailors? Shame.
@TaskForceSixTwoSix sorry to bust your bubble, but I know 2 of the 3 girls in this film. They're both very strong, both physically, and academically. They pushed themselves through all the schools with flying colors. From what I've seen going through all the training, the women got treated exactly the same, if not pushed harder than the male members of the class. Your notion that they got the job easier because they're women is a complete myth. They earned their right to be there.
Well like I said, thanks to affirmative action policies you can never tell if someone earned their spot these days. Which is why it's a horrible policy that should have no place in the U.S. military.
If you're referring to the position of an aircrewman then you are wrong. It is physically demanding, although not as demanding as some other MOSs or services.
The call to serve, it knows no form, race, religon, or sexualtity. The reason why the U.S Military is the best in the history of man. Hoorah.
