Aretha Franklin can sing...do you ppl know how hard it is to sing when its that cold outside....very hard. SOme ppl lose their voice in the cold. She's one of those ppl if you know anything about her singing style she almost always request air conditioning off in theatre. So aside from that I think the emotion she "sang" with was moving alone....

Aretha Franklin is getting older and with age goes many things including voice. She has done many things including being next to Dr. Martin Luther King. Miss Franklin chose a very poor time to take a breath. When she listens to it herself, I imagine she too will be horrified.The reason her voice sounded so bad is because she has spent so many years singing incorrectly that her cords are fried.Age isn't an excuse. Beverly Sills was still singing beautifully well into her 60's. Her interpretation was very moving but would have been better had she been able to execute it.
