your not too old to develop a carrer out of it, lets say it takes you 2 years to get good enough to play in clubs all the time. (ive got a mate whose been ~DJin a yeat and has a slot every month DJin in a club in) but it could take you longer than 2 years. but either way. im 16, and ive just got enough money to buy decks, and im saveing a little extra to get some vynal when i get them. But there are many older DJ's. E.G i think Dj Hype (drum n bass Dj) is almost 50!
