Actually yeah, you can. Certain parts can be upgraded by pulling on the orange arrows.  The stronger attacks come at a higher energy cost though.

no if you look at the abbility given by that part it goes up when changes the size its hard to tell though

Actually, it does make it stronger. If you look where he's pointing, and look at the arrow, you'll notice that it is going up, and that the arrow is orange. Like he said, when it gets bigger, it does more damage, but weighs more.

you only unlock parts when you do missions for your ingame captian this is done when yougo to create then create captian

i soo wanted to get this game, especially since it had a deal u basically got it free if u bought spore along with it before the 23rd. i checked everything, to get it, i need to spend over a hundred dollars on a new graphics card and add more ram to my computer. both of with i know how to do, but can't do

If I start making some creatures I want to be my captain, can I do it in the original spore then when I get this can I use the old creatures as a captain?

You can only make a captain in the Galactic Adventures, however in the Spore game without the expansion, you can make colony people. The answer is no. You must get the expansion in order to make captains
