Hey I just waned to let you know this is the best video out there fro explaining charge buffered ultras. You definitely did the community a huge service on this one bro. This one and the other video explaining the use of a back dash while using a charge-buffered ultra #2.
Charge buffering is a seriously sweet way of stepping up your game.
hi, after practice, I managed to do FADC U1 or U2, with both forward dash and back dash, but no matter how hard I try, I can't get how to walk forward a short distance then U1, can you teach me the correct input for that? thanks a lot.
damn man, thanks. i was wondering how people were doing this shit. how come it works both ways tho? like forward, down, down+back, back, back up, and up and then the simpler way?
Exelent explaination my dude thnks. Btw it realy works best for me after u fadc dash then input from down forward all the way around to back up almost like pile driver and exact timeing or pause is once oponent is on knees or laid flat on ground three to four frame animation but it works! Try it
I went from 5000 plus bp to 2000 plus bp trying to execute this ish on ranked matches. When im Crossed up my change my direction of charge is flipped which makes... I just don't want to spam sb it gets boring... Anyone got 10k with guile playing offensively? I'm getting board with the lack of variety and ranked match settings. I set my ish to more experienced players and all I gets is 0-3200 bp playes. I want to see some sick ish when I play but most challengers use repetitive links into blocks
that just takes insane timing. but I'm surprised I haven't seen this more often. it's a great counter to all of the hadouken spamming Ryu's you seem to encounter online. thx for the tutorial.
yes it is, it has to be on a character who has a command grab ultra. I believe the flash kick must be inputted right before the ultra, in order to counter hit and allow for enough frames to buffer the back charge for the ultra.
Hey man really great video thanks for explaining it so clearly. I play only as guile but need to practice combos and advanced tactics like this so thanks for the great tips
Man this is awesome! I never chose Guile in matches Because I wasnt able to do that kind of execution. The reason why this is perfectly the best way to do it is that I succeeded on the first try doin it. thx alot 4 that :)
Hey there... i wanna say that i really appreciate your concern on making such good tutorials. This one here is just awesome man. I wish i had an x360 to play against your guile.
I managed to master this FADC forward dash to SH and i got a hint for making it even easier (you might know about it or not, but i`ll say it anyway).
Instead of making db, b, ub+k, b (hold) + focus and making the motion, you can simply hold ub and proceed with the rest of the imputs.
hear where you bought it because I saw one at blockbuster and saw a little boy and leaves at 500 am in cancun mexico pesos but does not say the name of Street Fighter comes out I hope your brother is cool responses.
This comment has received too many negative votesshow
I wanna say that doing this doesn't help with anything. The fact that there isn't moves that would leave someone in so much negative frames for you to Focus their attack into a ultra. And if someone wiffs move you could always just do a reg dash into ultra which is pretty much the same motion. But other than that your really doing this to look fancy ;)
@UltraScrub I value your opinion but I disagree. I saw a high level Japanese tourney match where a Guile player was locked down in the corner against a Honda player. The Honda player kept pressuring with HH and the Guile player picked up on it and FADC'd the HH into Ultra. I'm just saying that to say that you never know when the opportunity will present itself. It not about being fancy, it's about having options in matches.
@UltraScrub how can you comment on when your name is UltraScrub? go watch "Cross Counter Biggavelli" where he uses the ultra and super version in a ranked match against a high level japanese player using Ryu. it works everytime against projectile throwers.
this makes NO sense. why on earth would you perform DF, D, DB, B, UB, KKK when that motion is the complete opposite of the correct motion that is required to perform his ultra?
@majinshenmue There are short cut motions for most inputs in the game and the motion that you listed is one of them. It's called a RTK or Revers Tiger Knee motion. It has to make some sense because it works every time I put it in. lol. You should go to training mode and try it. Thanks for watching.
DF,D,DB,B,UB,KKK would actually be a RR or Reverse Rekkukyaku.
A RTK would be an RDP or Reverse Dragon Punch.
I have no idea why "IceQueenZer0" on GameFAQ would give the wrong input for Sagat's Tiger Knee Crush.
So in any rate, your saying that with Guile you can input his motions backwards and still pull the move off much like how you can input Zangief's 360 and 720 any direction you like and still pull his move off?
@majinshenmue It's called "tiger knee" motion because that's how Sagat's tiger knee was in older games (db, d, df, f, uf) and the name has just stuck. As for the super and ultra being able to be done backwards, I think that because when going from downforward to downback to upforward, there will usually be extra inputs in there because 1) the human hand isn't always perfect and 2) controls themselves aren't always perfect. So it's lenient in that case. I was doing RTK and didin't even intend to
Hey Sonic, what's up man. My apologies if you get this question all the time, but I seen Dj-B13 do TWO focus attacks, and after the second one hit, he FADC'd into an ultra. Do you know how this is possible? He does it at 1:37 in this video:
Can you tell me how this is possible, and what the technique is? Your feedback is much appreciated, and I have officially subscribed to your videos! ;-)
yo, Sonic...I already know how to do it, but the way you explain it would have been very vital when I was learning it a while back, haha! how did I miss this video??? I like how you break things down in it's simplest format...very educational...I like the pausing info 'cause there is...keep it up, man...I'm gonna keep an eye out on your channel in case you have more educational vids...
Great tut SonicFlash. I can finally pull this off in training mode but i still need to work on it more so i can pull it of in a match. Also is it possible to cancle a sonic boom and then do fad ultra? will there be enough charge time?
It seems I've run into problem where Guile does not do the super or ultra after the dash, even tho the inputs show everything done properly. What I am wondering, is it possible to do this move way too fast? I try to time to ub + kick right before the dash ends, but dunno... feels like it requires something I dont quite get.
I;m not sure about the doing it too fast thing, but I'm sure there is a specific window for the input. It's just something you are going to have to keep working at until you get comfortable. If you are putting the input in correctly then it should be working. Just keep working at it though man.
ok I been doin it all morning and I got it down now, its harder to do the FA into dash into the ultra or double flash, I just did it without, wats da point of the FA in this cause?? the ultra or da double flash with go tru the fireball anyway rite??
The FA dash allows you to absorb the 1 attack from your opponent giving you armor for that attack. Dashing into the ultra without this shouldn't allow you to do the same thing. So
ok cool I understand now, I need a serious with guile, I cant use the stick I use the ps3 pad, help me out wats good? Im pretty good but u seem wayyy better teach me all them cross ups and the best ways and times to do things...
this is the exactly what i needed to know , thanks for the video you made my day ima try it this weekend and ill post a video of me doin g once i get it down ,10 stars
@DrMarioVsMetc123 LOL... I was just about to give you some pointers because of your other post, but I'm glad you got it man. Keep working at it so you'll be able to do it whenever you want.
@DrMarioVsMetc123 LOL... I was just about to give you some pointers because of your other post, but I'm glad you got it man. Keep working at it so you'll be able to do it whenever you want.
There's actually no need to go all the way through the bottom to up-back. All you need to do is:
charge DB,MP+MK,F,F,DB,DU,LK+MK+HK
That's all. No need to do the extra half circle on the bottom side of the stick. In my Guile combo video you see how you can use this to dash through projectiles and punish with Ultra.
When I mad the video I wasn't aware of the 3rd motion that was available to this move but someone pointed it out to me on the SRK boards soon after this was made. I could have added an annotation to the vid explaining it but I didn't think it was necessary because the 2 motions in the vid work. Just to clarify the 3rd way of doing it is DB(Charge)>FA>DashForward>DB>UB>3K's.
Like I said, I didn't think ti was necessary to put in but I guess options are good. Thanks for watching.
Glad to hear it man keep it up. I'm going to be putting up more videos in the near future with tips and tricks to improve skill level with Guile so stay tuned. Thanks for watching!
Thanks for all the info. I'm gonna practice it when I get a chance - I'll let you know how I get on.
p.s; I'd rather just have the camera on your hands so I can replicate from that. I think if I see the hands performing it, I'll have something a little more concrete to go on, visually speaking.
First off: thanks for taking the time to make this video
But.....I still can't get this move out at all. Could you do another video showing your hands actually performing the move in real time?
I know the motions/button presses but every time I try to pull it off, it just doesn't seem to work. I'm guessing it's an execution thing as opposed to the tools, so I'd like to see the actual hand-timing for this move.
I understand exactly where you're coming from Aamisaab. When I first starting trying this move it was very difficult to do, but as the video says you have to practice in order to get it down correctly. This is a very precise move, as is most things with Guile, so it's not going to come overnight. One thing that I would suggest is to do what I call "breaking it down to a science". I'll explain exactly what I mean in the next reply.
What I mean when I say "breaking the move down to a science" is simply breaking the move up into pieces to make sure you have the motion down. For example, instead of trying to tackle the entire move all at once, start off by simply Crouching>FA. This is very easy but still, it's a process. Once you are comfortable with that, practice Crouching>FA>Dash. Once you get that down practice Crouching>FA>Dash>Motion input(No kick buttons), and finally put it all together at the end.
Another thing that I would suggest would be to simply relax when doing this. One thing that hurts me when trying to execute more difficult combos is when I try to force the stick to do what i want rather than guiding it. See what I mean? Just relax, practice and simply trust your hands to do what you've taught them. The last thing I would say is to try doing the dash Super rather than the Ultra to begin with because it is easier.
Just work on these things and 'm sure in no time you'll be doing this move. In the mean time I'll make a video of me doing this with a shot of my hands so it can help you see how it's suppose to look. :-) Just check back on this vid and I'll add it as a video response to the current tutorial. I'm not sure if I can have both video (Hands and screen) running at the same time, but I'll try to make it as easy to understand as possible. Hope this helps and thanks for watching. :-)
I know a couple of ways to do it, just not sure what's more consistent. Although I've done it by fluke when I tried to FADC FORWARD ultra instead. -_-"
LOL... I've figured out a lot of things in this game just by going to training mode and mesing around. Haven't tried the backdash Super or Ultra though simply because I can't think of a good way to use it. With the forward dash you can close space on your opponent and hit them with your most powerful attack so that's why it's the one I did. I'm sure there are some uses for the back dash Super/Ultra though, but I'd just have to do some research to find them. Thanks for watching! :-)
Hey SonicFlash, thanks for the video. I do have a suggestion though. Would it be safer to say that instead of timing the pause after the FF input, you just have to make sure to input the half circle back before Guile finishes his dash animation?
@hypergeist The reason for the pause is to insure that Guile dahses out of his crouched FA. I found that if I didn't pause and went directly to the reverse tiger knee motion after the second forward input, Guile wouldn't dash so that's why it's necessary. You are exactly right when you say that the motion for the Ultra has to be input before Guile finishes his dash! This is a key point and I forgot to say it in the vid so thanks for mentioning it. Thnks for watching and thnks for the suggestion!
Man thanks 4 the video im learning guile in ae this helps alot

Any ideas?

You shouldve showed off and done a FAD super Into Ultra lol
Kreeper1218 2 years ago
LOL. I tried but I mistimed it. Look at about 3:51 in the video and you'll notice I did a J.RH after the Super. That's when I missed it.

Good stuff.
Now.... do one for the FA backdash ultra! lol.

Would it be safer to say that instead of timing the pause after the FF input, you just have to make sure to input the half circle back before Guile finishes his dash animation?
hypergeist 2 years ago
@hypergeist The reason for the pause is to insure that Guile dahses out of his crouched FA. I found that if I didn't pause and went directly to the reverse tiger knee motion after the second forward input, Guile wouldn't dash so that's why it's necessary. You are exactly right when you say that the motion for the Ultra has to be input before Guile finishes his dash! This is a key point and I forgot to say it in the vid so thanks for mentioning it. Thnks for watching and thnks for the suggestion!
