The whole Eric & Bill suicide thing was probably the most irrational aspect of the episode, at first blush. But if u look at Bill's performance carefully he leaves room to suggest that he was gambling on Sookie to go all fairy-power, since her powers are triggered by emotion... Or maybe the writers were just plain lazy. Who knows.
i think that sookie is more of a character that connnects all the plot lines together then her own character, because she is always doinf something not very thoughtfull. Like in this episode she was standing in the fire and crying, i understand begging or even just sinking to the ground, but making a hysteria when the fire is not even close is like WTF!!! i really hope the season finale will be better!!! :)
I think Sookie's characters this season was dumb. She barely had any lines. She was mostly having sex or staring with the blinky eyes not knowing what to do! You're totally right that she should not have butted into Marni's conversation with the which friend (forget her name). I love Pam this episode bc i think she's the most steady character thus far. Through it all, she loves Eric over any humans, a vampire rule Eric is too happy to break. Double ponytail and leather? TOTALLY FUNNY!!!
Seriuosly... Eric AND Bill agreeing to die for Sookie, AGAIN., seriously? I was hoping that they were just pretending and that they really had a plan up their sleeve. I don't like Jason with jessica. It totally breaks the buddy code. I don't think people in real life would do that to each other.
Love you Roth, but we need to get you a different shirt.... a little change up would be god.. cause your awesome...seen the same black shirt in a bunch of recaps..LOVE YA
Does anyone else realise that Jesus, Lafayette plot is mirroring the whole Terra, her mother, Ms Jeanette and the demon which would mean like her nephew Terra's mother is a medium (that is if there really was a demon inside her) I'm kinda disappointed that their re-using it because when Jesus exorcised Ghost nanny from Lafayette is was no where near as powerful as the witch doctor exorcism
my fav part of the episode was when eric ripped the guys heart out and.started.drinking it as if it was a juice box. finally alcide abjures debby i cant wait to see her die in the finale.
@TheHibye65 Kristin Bauer said in some interview that she talked about how her and Eric had been lovers in the past, I was never able to find her saying that as Pam, but Alex and Kristin talk about it often. I'm not sure the pair would be a very good couple though, since Alex always says that he sees her as his child and Kristin thinks of him as her father. Incest is BAD (and not in a cool way). I would love to see Eric w/ a new woman though, anyone is better than Sookie, even Talbot :)
I miss the One- Liners between Lafayette and Tara. It would be great if Sookie would go back to shy southern girl who protected and saved Lafayette/Tara/Jason and vice versa moments when they stuck by her side as well. Now it's like every other scene she is humping a vampire as everyone else is getting raped, tortured and dying. I love the romantics don't get me wrong but I'm not a fan of the twlight "Bella.....Edward....Bella....Jacob" bad acting moments.
You know you're not enjoying it if you notice the zipper on a costume, sorry Jenna. It's like in Brothers McMullen, the tie changes several times, but it's good enough most don't really notice or care. But anyway, I did like the heart drinking. Makes me miss Russell and Talbot.
REALLY pulled it all together. He did, The fact that there is always something going on is what makes true blood, well true blood. :) Now there were several things you said that I agree with too. My favorite long term characters are Lafayette, Sam, Jason (of course) and then of course Bill, Eric and Sookie...we should really find a name for all three of them to be called collectively..haha.. All I ask is really think about ALL seasons and maybe you'll say
..Oh and the Andy and fairy hoe thats dumb, the Andy makeout scene couldn't have ended more quickly lol. I can honestly say this was my favorite episode, despite the Sookie, Eric and Bill thing, that has really really spiraled out of control. This episode was intense! Im not going to lie I am still really into the whole love triangle though. regarding the Alceed, Debbie, Sam, Luna thing. Alec Baldwin
looked totally fake. And maybe Anna Paquin could brush up on her acting, but shes been like this for a while now. lol. The Eric and Bill thing ...totally not looking forward to her deciding (if she does) I'd choose Eric....mmmm Alexander Skarsgard.. :D And of course its "overkill" this is true blood ladies, it's what keep us GLUED to the TV come on, it would be boring if it was realistic!?!?! If it were realistic we'd be watching the damn Golden Girls -.-..come on...
and YES there are ridiculous moments, you can't tell me you don't like to laugh at some of it. Ever heard of comic relief? I want to point out when you were talking about Marni, Holy and Sookie's convo..she never insinuated that she knew Marni she SPECIFICALLY said "I may not know you but what Iv'e heard.." OKAY? Sookie is a sweet person by nature, again something that has been portrayed since season 1, shes simply trying to use her sookie sweet/psychology on Marni. Yes the fire scene
Okay so if this is for "Trubies" it sure doesn't sound like it! (I know who have specified that ya'll are, obviously I am too so I can totally appreciate this) your entitled to your opinions naturally but there were very very few good things you said regarding this episode, it's more or less like you mocking the entire show. Everything that is happening in season 4 has all been from a winding interesting story
I like the episode overall. you raise good points but.. i think sookie would try with marnie because she is sookie. she has this need to try to fix stuff or be present at least. (godric death, giving eric blood) i think fairies won't be a bad a story line as you think. i completely agree with you an jess and Jase (so cute!) i hink alcide reacted the way he did because he got in over his head and could barely figure it out but that's my opinion. love your reviews :)
Why does everybody love Jess and Jason? I hate it! She's just going to get bored of him too! Until the this last episode says so he's not a supernatural! Man quiet bumbling guys can't get the girls! We either lose out to bad asses or dumb jocks! I really hope they don't carry that parring into next season and that Hoyt at least gets his pound of flesh in the finale cause I have a feeling their going to kill him off.
I feel like the fairies are breeding with humans againa and that's why that fairy came and left so quickly. Why they would need to breed with humans I don't know but I really think that's what is going on
"Leave your comments below" but if you disagree, we will erase them. Great journalism, blogging and overall "and let us know what you thought of the episode and if you liked it disliked it." yeah right, biased
I think what they were trying to do with the whole Bill and Eric suicide thing was subtly trying to get sookie pissed again so she could break the shield with her fairy powers, like she does later in the episode when they're about to die, but like the idiot she is she just stands there and cries... again... but it wasn't really obvious so I think that bit of the storyline came off as really cheesy, the awkward tears didn't gelp :L
I feel like every season of True Blood starts off with a lot of promise and intriguing mysteries, but then the writers open SO many doors that they don't know how to wrap up everything, so by the end of the season they become tangled in the web of their own plots or they try to tie all the plots together and it feels really disjointed. Unfortunately, it seems as though this episode was another indicator of that. Romance-wise, Sookie needs to step up and be Team Sookie before she picks a mate.
i think at this point sookie is a pointless character she dosen't really break bad are have any problems. I want sookie to do something at crazy, cut her hair, get a tattoo. Leave eric and bill alone for awhile. I think for next season sookie should not be with anyone. even thought she still love bill and eric. It would be really intersting to see sookie leave vampires alone and go her own way. It would be really cool to see sookie control her powers and even developed new ones.
@TheHibye65 You are so right about Sookie and Anna and the fairy blood, I really wish I knew why Alcide likes her. Maybe it's just b/c she's not Debbie, either way the idea that four guys (Sam included) have been obsessed with her over the span of a few months (her time) is ridiculous, she is AWFUL. At least we know no human man would put up with her. But yes Eric and Pam were lovers in the past. That's what Pam said in the season 2 extras.
@fiorentina5 Every guy being obsessed with Sookie is one of the most unbelievable things about this show. And that's saying a lot about a show about vampires, werewolves, shifters and fairies. I'll buy all of that over this Sookie fixation. I'm so happy Eric/Pam were lovers in the past! They have one of the most interesting relationships on the show. I wish Eric would dump Sookie and be with Pam again. Pam is a million times more worthy of him than Sookie.
i thought that this episode was actually good however i do understand you ladies point of view. I felt that season 4 sorta lagged around until the past few episodes. Sookie can be a little "special" at times but isn't that why we tune in? i can't wait until next week finale.. who's going to die?(Jesus trying to save Lafayette)? what bad guy is going to return (Russell ?) well more as this develops...btw i do apr8 the reviews you ladies give
I enjoyed this episode, but I understand your gals review on why you didn't. My favorite line was from Jason "what the fuck folks" cracked me up. And then to watch the recap and hear how all the actors were cracking up as well. Makes it so great. I am really wrapped up in Eric and Pam and back in season 3 when pan said "you would have said and done anything to save Godric" that's what she was feeling. she has to decide between her happiness which is Eric this Viking god or Eric who would do
Anything to save and be with sookie. Grrr though with the triangle I'm a big fan of the books so I love Eric and Sookie. I just want something believable with these three next season. I also really liked Andy and Arlene at the end really sweet between those two. Looking forward to next Sunday. Having a big party and doing some V. LOL and that's why I love the show its a great time!
The whole 'love triangle' is just so unbelievable. Really, Sookie? Gazing adoringly at Bill while the "Bill theme" plays? No inner conflict at all related to the horrible breakup (caused by all kinds of attempted murder) you guys had like a WEEK AGO? Despite all the writer shenanigans, it's not believable to me that she's this into Bill, still.
why is it that when bill and now eric are so in love with sookie, they strt acting like bitches? right now i am neither team bill or eric, pam is right sookie is always in the fucking way. Pam is the only vampire i am liking at the moment who knows how annoying sookie is, and maybe i wouldnt feel this way is if anna's acting this season was so terrible, she makes me cringe everytime she interacts with eric and sometimes bill.
I love the fact that Andy got laid by the faerie... but just imagine what she really looks like... That makes it kind of creepy. Also, from the preview for next week, I think we are getting Ghosts from episodes past, and I believe MaryAnn will make a make an appearance. After she was killed Sookie said at least it's over, and Terra said "Somehow I don't think it is." or something along those lines. And then in the preview she looked worried and said she's back. Godric might visit too.
i feel like u dont put ur heart on this review just complaining nothing positive and why didnt u talk about eric riping that heart ( best scene ever) and eric/pam relationship , i luv u but this review was a little rush for me! wairing for an answer please
PS: im french hope my english is not perfect hope u can understand
Fucking Sookeh, is the worse protagonist I've ever seen on a TV show that I watch. She is unbearable and the way men act around her is unbelievable! I can't believe an Oscar winner is playing this character, I think AP's acting peaked at age 9... Poor Pam. Fuck you Alan Ball.
@fiorentina5 I completely agree with everything you said. Sookie is a horrible protagonist, and Anna Paquin is a terrible actress. She completely sucks the life out of what should be a dynamic character. The only thing that makes Eric and Bill's obsession with her believeable is her fairy blood. But, what's Alcide's excuse? I was rooting for Sookie to die . Pam was right. How could Eric chose Sookie over Pam? I haven't read the books. Does anyone know if Eric and Pam were lovers in the past?
@TheHibye65 well in book 7 I think Pam is telling Sookie about when she was turned by Eric and they seemed to have a sexual relationship in the beginning but it turned into more of a father daughter relationship later on
I am not so worried for Eric and Pam, because Ball said at Comic con that we are going to see next season how Eric turned Pam and I hope that they will reconcile...
but I agree how annoying Sookie is on the show and also she was just with Eric, and bill now, meh forced triangle
@Aveo00 Thanks for letting me know about Eric and Pam. I always got the feeling they were lovers in the past but I wasn't sure. I felt so sorry for Pam last night. I love the relationship between her and Eric. She wasn't about to let him die for Sooooooookie, as Bill calls her. I can't wait to see the flashbacks of Eric and Pam. And to find out when Pam was a hooker. Another aspect of the show I used to like was the love triangle. But, they killed it this season.
@TheHibye65 The problem I have with the love triangle is that at the moment it makes no sense; you know in the past Sookie was together with Bill and she had all these dreams about Eric and felt drawn to him but now she just was with Eric and I don´t get it how at the moment she feels drawn to bill, it was like a week ago she found out about Bills lie and she should be pissed, another example how dumb they made true blood sookie, thats why I like the books more, at least she has a brain in them
@Aveo00 You're right the love triangle makes no sense. Sookie just found out Bill betrayed her and she's ready to forgive him? She's had feelings for Eric the past 3 seasons but now that he's back to being himself she's confused about whether she wants to be with him? I was looking forward to Sookie/Eric because I love Eric. But, their love scenes sucked and Anna's acting has hit an all time low. Alex was amazing as always though. Eric's scenes with Pam were the best part of the season for me.
I just want to know why the writers seem to "water down" characters as the only way to show they love someone. Eric has been a perfect example of this, and now they've done it to Pam. Seriously, her lines lately could have been spoken by Debbie and they totally would have fit. Snarky, cold but still kinda in love with her maker Pam is gone(although now Nan is getting those lines)!
I really, really want to know what will happen to the relationship between Eric and Pam. They are my favorite couple of the show because they are the ones with the stronger relationship; but after this episode ...
It was a very sad scene where Eric tells her to go away... Pam looks so heartbroken!
The only part of the show that I had to look at sideways was the part where Lafayette is describing what Marnie was doing. Who wrote those lines? lol
Other than that I did kind of like this episode because this Marnie Antonia stuff finally came to a climax. Antonia saw Marnie's true colors and left, Marnie was killed, relationships got stronger aka Jessica+Jason and Jesus+Lafayette.
Just wish there was more fighting, magic, and blood lol.
The most ridiculous part happened when Eric and Bill agreed to commit suicide to "save" Sookie..who was in no immediate danger (that casey girl was asking for it). And in response to the situation she starts crying ?!? She couldn't use her fairy power when she thought both of them were about to die ...?
This episode was erratic and the weakest of the season imo. Almost everyone was acting out of character.
Ugh, that whole 'sacrifice for sookie' scene made me wanna throw things. We get it. They love her. But really? REALLY? I expect that kinda crapola from Bill, but Eric?? He's lived thousands of years, you'd think he would have a better sense of perspective. You're gonna go to the true death, just like that. Without a fight? He just,..got on his knees to be shot like a dog?? AUGH. OOC and rage inducing. Thanks for making me laugh about this ep, Roth. THIS IS THRILLAH..THRILLAH NIGHT. *jerks* :D
sookie was talking to Marnie because she was desperate to end this, so if you think that it's bad acting well it was intented, it's an acting from sookie not anna paquin
guys i have to disagree with you, this episode was the best, 1st the acting for the first time was proper, 2nd it's fast paced, 3rd it's hilarious i mean listen to the quotes : "gash in a sundress" "don't go lost in the nature retarted" and "Marnie just pucked a bitch out", 4th i don't understand why you said that everything seemed to happen for no reason, it was a battle qo obviously there are fight scenes the only bad acting was Marcus and Debbie
I actually really liked this episode! I think the whole thing with Sookie and Marnie was really good! I mean they're both different, they both have gotten bullied because of it and in some way I think they actually connected. They understood each other in some way. I think Andy will have a fae child soon! I think that's why the show did it, so we can learn more about faeries as well as Sookie's family tree.
Alcide is just a complete douche, I think he's got a cheek treating Debbie like that considering he's been lusting for Sookie all season. Alcide should have stepped up and been honest with her instead of leading her on. Alcide's motivations for abjuring Debbie is far more justified in the books than on the show, I hate it when they lift things directly from the books but it just isn't as good or has the same impact.
Can ghost marnie/possesed Lafayette steal the power of Jesus' demon? I'm trying to figure out how she'll have any power at all, and I remember Antonia mentioning how Jesus had a demon to serve him (kind of like being bound with a ghost ala marnie/antonia, no?).
As far as I saw with the faeries, more than one showed up - not just for Andy. Perhaps they were all going out to have sex? Would go along with what we learned at the beginning of the series.
I didn't groan about it for the one fact that I think it would be more of a crime to drop such a significant storyline - would look especially clumsy. And there's always a chance for redemption.
Is it me or dose it feel like a hole lot of nothing has happened this hole season. I mean I did kind of like the witches story but I think it took way too long to finally get going.
I do like the Jason Jessica thing, that scene at the end where Jason was all messed up. Gold.
Also, there is only 1 episode left for this season right? It feels strange, like this should only be the beginning of a season.
what was worse was that during the binding scene with antonia and marnie, Jesus is all "we can't let her do it otherwise we're all screwed!" - but they all just stood there. Nobody bothered to even stop her from speaking the incantation.
Roth's Thriller move totally kept me laughing for 10 minutes. It's even funnier to know the actors and writer acknowledged the ridiculousness of the scene (as it is said in the inside the episode). This season has its ups and downs but I thought the story is more focused and plot orientated.
I didn't like that Eric antagonized Marnie one last time [drinking Roy's heart like a sippy cup] before murdering her, it was like doing exactly what they did to Antonia [minus the rape] as a bonus "screw you we win" kinda thing like they didn't learn a thing from everything that just went down. Throw the bitch in jail- real jail. She murdered somebody. she was pretty powerless at this point. Antonia was the necromancer, not Marnie. Though Larnie is gonna be an interesting twist. :D
@MrZombieshop Vamps having to silver themselves every day - Bill is pissed enough to take out a defenseless Marnie in cold blood & he likely still views her as a threat. As far as he knows, she can control vamps like remote-control robots & can create a bug (vamp) zapper fortress.
Eric ripping out Roy’s heart & sucking it in Marnie’s face is just plain ruthless/brutality, a “screw you” to Marnie, nothing new, same as he was before he was mind-wiped.
i loved this episode. I am not a reviewer so, the force field dance that the vamps did seemed real to me. It is nice to be naive, sometimes. You never even mentioned Eric ripping out Roys heart and drinking from it. You must have really disliked this ep. AB is setting up the fae story to come-but I think these are good fae's and maybe more interesting. I loved Jason scolding vamps for "Fucking Sookie" comments which u did not mention. Sookies stupid fire dance-and girl dies @Marnies knife
I agree with you gals here. This episode was kinda iffy! I mean there was nothing heroic about Eric & Bill killing two defencless people[Roy & Marnie] cause Marnie's power level is like 0 and Roy had none to begin with so to me they were gunning down an old, defenceless palm reader & an idiot. She had to go but that wasn't my cup of tea I'd rather have seen them gun her down for a good reason like mid-spell not mid-talking.
this whole season was too slow for me. They focus too much on sookie. P.S Tara and them were stupid to think that no one would actually get hurt going up against vampires
Andy/Marilla: Not sure what to make of this & where they’re going with it, but Arlene giving the pep-talk to Andy was authentic caring, which is rare for Arlene who’s usually just reactionary & silly.
Alcide/Sam/Marcus: Agreed, resolution seemed very rushed. I kind of felt bad for Debbie Pelt since she was really struggling to do the right thing & Alcide took the most extreme step he could w/o any solid evidence of infidelity. Still, this is likely the way they launch Alcide into Were politics & trigger crazy-Debbie.
Love triangle: How can Sookie love brutal/ruthless Eric when she fell for innocent Eric? Even though she cares for Bill, is he still in the running, really?
“Thriller” scene: Roth you crack me up! So low budget (as they admitted in the Inside the Episode Postmortem) & blooper reel worthy as Jenna said; still, I liked that a Jason/Sookie mind-read led to a fairy-blast end to that spell.
Disobedient Pam: Looking fwd to how this will play out. Let’s hope for eventual reconciliation since their dynamic is one of the most touching and entertaining features of the show.
Bill/Eric sacrifice scene: Even though it made no sense in the big vamp vs. witch war (how would this stop Marnie?), I liked the acting. Bill & Eric acknowledged to each other they’re both honestly willing to die for Sookie’s safety, w/o pride or one up-man-ship. Plus later in the episode, Marnie as common enemy/Sookie-persecutor seemed to bond them together which has never happened before.
How did you not comment on this? IMHO the best cheesy scene of the entire season so far: Bill & Eric bro-mance glances before & after Marnie’s death, & Eric sucking on Roy’s heart like a sippy cup, over-the-shoulder toss, & finger licking, LOL’d. This was almost as good as the Russell Edgington “After we eat you, we will eat your children.”
You guys are so fun & bring out all the "what, really?" features/scenes! What I liked: Jesus & Jason shined bigtime & characters are growing. Bill/Eric comradery was new & entertaining. Sookie more vulnerable than we’re used to seeing her (e.g. ring o fire), instead of pushy & in charge. Crack in the Pam/Eric dynamic - meat for future eps. Sam was the bigger man & didn’t kill Marcus.
Yeah, that is what I was going to comment on. Just that 'you are not going to do shit' look on Eric's face while drinking her friend's heart. Yeah, it was great.
As for the fairies though, I liked the Fairy Wars in the books, but they screwed that whole thing in the first 8mins of this season and put a nail in it with Claudine's death. So if they do go that way next season, I'm not sure I'm going to be too high on it going in.
Agree, it was all Jesus in this episode. I did not care for this episode, everything was so rushed especially with Alcide and Sam, it was boring, Sookie saying "Bill u cant", hello what about Eric he was giving his life up for u too. I hope she chooses no one cause if she chooses Bill, oh no Mr Ball u will definitely uproar some fans. The finale better make up for the past couple of episodes.
The whole bill/sookie/eric thing is getting ridiculous and cheesy. and i dont understand why eric and bill are so head over heels for sookie anyway because, while she can be a pretty good character sometimes, she's just annoying, naive, and selfish and I don't think she respects either of them very much. I still think both of their attractions come from her fairy blood.
Come on u guys the real hero here on this episode was Jesus!!!!!!!!!! HE ROCK IT!!!!! :D haha him and Lafayette are my all time fav characters! :) i was pissed off when no one said "thank you Jesus, you helped alot" like really! ungreatful vampires!!!! lmao!
I liked Jason telling off Bill/Eric. Marnie & Antonia were great. The negotiation scene was stupid. Neither of them would have died that easily for her & she would have been fighting not crying. Sookie's communication w/Marnie was believable, she said 'from everything I've heard you have always been kind' not seen.. Of course she would be talking to Marnie...Even in the books Sookie plays a huge role in everything that happens. Andy & Fairy = lame. The writing def needs improved in some areas.
the Fairy scene with the "make a promise to me. swear on the LIGHT'" or whatever and she lifted her glowing finger, all I could think about was a red hoodie, Drew Berrymoore and E.T. phoning home. seriously, episode writer?? seriously!!?
Only difference is that in Buffy, they know they have camp, so they take the camp, poke fun at it with truly witty characters and truly witty remarks and then have actually intense, emotional and funny scenes in one epsiode. Buffy is forever the best fantasy show on TV! everz.
I was really shocked when you guys said that you didn't like this episode! This was my favorite episode of the season so far. It was really action-packed. My favorite part was when Eric ripped out Roy's heart and drank it like a CapriSun. That was a BAD-ASS moment!! The ending was actually shocking to me. I really didn't expect Marnie to possess Lafayette. The finale next week is gonna be INSANE!! I CAN'T WAIT!!
At the end of the ep after killing Marnie and Bill and Eric were whispering to each other, shuffling around like morons and taking side glances at Sookie - I literally had to turn my TV off, 'cus that was such a cliched, over done, stupid scene.
Yes, I agree. If the season finale is not amazing and I mean AMAZING, I will no longer watch True Blood. I find it really sad that after three extra seasons, I still think season ONE is the best. I hope they improve so I can come back and watch, but if they don't - well, the show is just not worth my time any longer. I am tired of the random HITS and the BIG ASS MISSES!!
i really agree that they could have done a lot better job of finishing/progressing the storyline with alcide and sam, the whole thing was so rushed after so much build up throughout the season i thought i was a waste and could have been done so much better than it actually was
What I liked about this episode was what it did for Marnie. I really felt for her because you could tell that she was doing all this because she's been hurt so many times in the past. She's acting out to make herself feel less like a doormat because she sees herself as the one who gets picked on.
For once I liked Sookie because she actually tried to reach out to Marnie instead of blindly siding with the vampires.
What I hated was Eric threatening to kill Pam over Sookie. Really?
It's SO weird, I liked this episode. Though I do agree with the "Thriller" march, I was very interested in seeing how Eric's feelings towards Sookie has directly impacted his relationship with Pam and I hope that becomes an element that plays out next season. As for the Fairies, I'm being hopeful that if they become major players next season the writers will give them as many layers and richness as they did the vampires. Can't wait until next week! Love your reviews, Ladies!
I totally agree with you about the random storylines they bring in and then they suddenly seem to become useless, the fairy stuff is the best example for that;
The writing on the show has become worse and worse, I hated episode 9 with the threesome dream but I think the writing has become even worse:
and this love triangle they try to do annoys me as hell, what for example is with the rat reveal, did Sookie have amnesia or what?? at the moment Bill shouldn´t even perceived as a love interest
you should get a guy in this reviews for next season. don't get me wrong, you guys are great, but there is a moment between your discusions of naked eric and marrying terry... that i would like someone to say "hey! and what about jessica? aint she smoking?" true blood aint justo for girls... but your reviews, sometimes... kind off.
Who knows.

I think Anna is a terrific actress, but even she couldn't pull off the unbelievable actions and aweful dialogue she had to do this season.

Also fairies are not supposed to tolerate iron, so a metal zipper on a fairy dress is a big NO-NO.
askarsfan2011 4 months ago
Pam, Jess, Eric, and Bill were all staying together in Bill's house. Pam obviously dressed everyone for the battle.
askarsfan2011 4 months ago
Lafayette was the ONLY one who was actually seeing what was happening. That's why he was describing the scene.

BEST PART
Eric ripping out dude's heart when he's like "you'll have to go through me!" (can't remember his name)
and then SUCKING on the heart's valve like a straw right up in Marnee's face. omg HAHA sexy, funny and intimidating all rolled into one

Missemeraldyui2006 5 months ago
..Oh and the Andy and fairy hoe thats dumb, the Andy makeout scene couldn't have ended more quickly lol.
Missemeraldyui2006 5 months ago
looked totally fake.
Missemeraldyui2006 5 months ago
and YES there are ridiculous moments, you can't tell me you don't like to laugh at some of it.
Missemeraldyui2006 5 months ago
Okay so if this is for "Trubies" it sure doesn't sound like it! (I know who have specified that ya'll are, obviously I am too so I can totally appreciate this) your entitled to your opinions naturally but there were very very few good things you said regarding this episode, it's more or less like you mocking the entire show. Everything that is happening in season 4 has all been from a winding interesting story
Missemeraldyui2006 5 months ago

I think what they were trying to do with the whole Bill and Eric suicide thing was subtly trying to get sookie pissed again so she could break the shield with her fairy powers, like she does later in the episode when they're about to die, but like the idiot she is she just stands there and cries... again... but it wasn't really obvious so I think that bit of the storyline came off as really cheesy, the awkward tears didn't gelp :L
mistyrose1995 5 months ago
@mistyrose1995 I agree with that; I though the subtle glances that Bill and Eric were throwing her way should have clued her in but no....

No mention of Eric's juice box??? That was AWESOME!!
kieralinn 5 months ago
@TheHibye65 You are so right about Sookie and Anna and the fairy blood, I really wish I knew why Alcide likes her. Maybe it's just b/c she's not Debbie, either way the idea that four guys (Sam included) have been obsessed with her over the span of a few months (her time) is ridiculous, she is AWFUL. At least we know no human man would put up with her. But yes Eric and Pam were lovers in the past. That's what Pam said in the season 2 extras.
fiorentina5 5 months ago
@fiorentina5 Every guy being obsessed with Sookie is one of the most unbelievable things about this show. And that's saying a lot about a show about vampires, werewolves, shifters and fairies. I'll buy all of that over this Sookie fixation. I'm so happy Eric/Pam were lovers in the past! They have one of the most interesting relationships on the show. I wish Eric would dump Sookie and be with Pam again. Pam is a million times more worthy of him than Sookie.
TheHibye65 5 months ago 2

I enjoyed this episode, but I understand your gals review on why you didn't. My favorite line was from Jason "what the fuck folks" cracked me up. And then to watch the recap and hear how all the actors were cracking up as well. Makes it so great. I am really wrapped up in Eric and Pam and back in season 3 when pan said "you would have said and done anything to save Godric" that's what she was feeling. she has to decide between her happiness which is Eric this Viking god or Eric who would do
Jayci83 5 months ago
Anything to save and be with sookie. Grrr though with the triangle I'm a big fan of the books so I love Eric and Sookie. I just want something believable with these three next season. I also really liked Andy and Arlene at the end really sweet between those two. Looking forward to next Sunday. Having a big party and doing some V. LOL and that's why I love the show its a great time!
Jayci83 5 months ago
The whole 'love triangle' is just so unbelievable. Really, Sookie? Gazing adoringly at Bill while the "Bill theme" plays? No inner conflict at all related to the horrible breakup (caused by all kinds of attempted murder) you guys had like a WEEK AGO? Despite all the writer shenanigans, it's not believable to me that she's this into Bill, still.
Aveo00 5 months ago
like i said before,
why is it that when bill and now eric are so in love with sookie, they strt acting like bitches? right now i am neither team bill or eric, pam is right sookie is always in the fucking way. Pam is the only vampire i am liking at the moment who knows how annoying sookie is, and maybe i wouldnt feel this way is if anna's acting this season was so terrible, she makes me cringe everytime she interacts with eric and sometimes bill.
ToriDw317 5 months ago
I love the fact that Andy got laid by the faerie... but just imagine what she really looks like... That makes it kind of creepy. Also, from the preview for next week, I think we are getting Ghosts from episodes past, and I believe MaryAnn will make a make an appearance. After she was killed Sookie said at least it's over, and Terra said "Somehow I don't think it is." or something along those lines. And then in the preview she looked worried and said she's back. Godric might visit too.

Fucking Sookeh, is the worse protagonist I've ever seen on a TV show that I watch. She is unbearable and the way men act around her is unbelievable! I can't believe an Oscar winner is playing this character, I think AP's acting peaked at age 9... Poor Pam. Fuck you Alan Ball.
fiorentina5 5 months ago 14
@fiorentina5 I completely agree with everything you said. Sookie is a horrible protagonist, and Anna Paquin is a terrible actress. She completely sucks the life out of what should be a dynamic character. The only thing that makes Eric and Bill's obsession with her believeable is her fairy blood. But, what's Alcide's excuse? I was rooting for Sookie to die . Pam was right. How could Eric chose Sookie over Pam? I haven't read the books. Does anyone know if Eric and Pam were lovers in the past?
TheHibye65 5 months ago
@TheHibye65 well in book 7 I think Pam is telling Sookie about when she was turned by Eric and they seemed to have a sexual relationship in the beginning but it turned into more of a father daughter relationship later on
I am not so worried for Eric and Pam, because Ball said at Comic con that we are going to see next season how Eric turned Pam and I hope that they will reconcile...
but I agree how annoying Sookie is on the show and also she was just with Eric, and bill now, meh forced triangle
Aveo00 5 months ago
@Aveo00 Thanks for letting me know about Eric and Pam. I always got the feeling they were lovers in the past but I wasn't sure. I felt so sorry for Pam last night. I love the relationship between her and Eric. She wasn't about to let him die for Sooooooookie, as Bill calls her. I can't wait to see the flashbacks of Eric and Pam. And to find out when Pam was a hooker. Another aspect of the show I used to like was the love triangle. But, they killed it this season.
TheHibye65 5 months ago
@TheHibye65 The problem I have with the love triangle is that at the moment it makes no sense; you know in the past Sookie was together with Bill and she had all these dreams about Eric and felt drawn to him but now she just was with Eric and I don´t get it how at the moment she feels drawn to bill, it was like a week ago she found out about Bills lie and she should be pissed, another example how dumb they made true blood sookie, thats why I like the books more, at least she has a brain in them
Aveo00 5 months ago
@Aveo00 You're right the love triangle makes no sense. Sookie just found out Bill betrayed her and she's ready to forgive him? She's had feelings for Eric the past 3 seasons but now that he's back to being himself she's confused about whether she wants to be with him? I was looking forward to Sookie/Eric because I love Eric. But, their love scenes sucked and Anna's acting has hit an all time low. Alex was amazing as always though. Eric's scenes with Pam were the best part of the season for me.
TheHibye65 5 months ago 5
i liked that eric and bill where prepared to die for her
jojolawsonful 5 months ago
I just want to know why the writers seem to "water down" characters as the only way to show they love someone. Eric has been a perfect example of this, and now they've done it to Pam. Seriously, her lines lately could have been spoken by Debbie and they totally would have fit. Snarky, cold but still kinda in love with her maker Pam is gone(although now Nan is getting those lines)!
lexxstrum 5 months ago

Without a fight? sookie was talking to Marnie because she was desperate to end this, so if you think that it's bad acting well it was intented, it's an acting from sookie not anna paquin

guys i have to disagree with you, this episode was the best, 1st the acting for the first time was proper, 2nd it's fast paced, 3rd it's hilarious i mean listen to the quotes : "gash in a sundress" "don't go lost in the nature retarted" and "Marnie just pucked a bitch out", 4th i don't understand why you said that everything seemed to happen for no reason, it was a battle qo obviously there are fight scenes the only bad acting was Marcus and Debbie
younes138 5 months ago
I actually really liked this episode! I think the whole thing with Sookie and Marnie was really good! I mean they're both different, they both have gotten bullied because of it and in some way I think they actually connected. They understood each other in some way. I think Andy will have a fae child soon! I think that's why the show did it, so we can learn more about faeries as well as Sookie's family tree.
I LOVED ERIC EVEN MORE IN THIS EPISODE!! :)
MissMorsiie 5 months ago
Alcide is just a complete douche, I think he's got a cheek treating Debbie like that considering he's been lusting for Sookie all season. Alcide should have stepped up and been honest with her instead of leading her on. Alcide's motivations for abjuring Debbie is far more justified in the books than on the show, I hate it when they lift things directly from the books but it just isn't as good or has the same impact.

I wonder...
Damon242 5 months ago

Disthron 5 months ago 2
what was worse was that during the binding scene with antonia and marnie, Jesus is all "we can't let her do it otherwise we're all screwed!" - but they all just stood there. Nobody bothered to even stop her from speaking the incantation.

Roth's Thriller move totally kept me laughing for 10 minutes. It's even funnier to know the actors and writer acknowledged the ridiculousness of the scene (as it is said in the inside the episode). This season has its ups and downs but I thought the story is more focused and plot orientated.
mistkm 5 months ago

Eric ripping out Roy’s heart & sucking it in Marnie’s face is just plain ruthless/brutality, a “screw you” to Marnie, nothing new, same as he was before he was mind-wiped.
lsgshelton 5 months ago
i loved this episode. Sookies stupid fire dance-and girl dies @Marnies knife
auctioneersdaughter 5 months ago
I agree with you gals here. This episode was kinda iffy! I mean there was nothing heroic about Eric & Bill killing two defencless people[Roy & Marnie] cause Marnie's power level is like 0 and Roy had none to begin with so to me they were gunning down an old, defenceless palm reader & an idiot. She had to go but that wasn't my cup of tea I'd rather have seen them gun her down for a good reason like mid-spell not mid-talking.
MrZombieshop 5 months ago
this whole season was too slow for me. They focus too much on sookie. P.S Tara and them were stupid to think that no one would actually get hurt going up against vampires

Andy/Marilla: Not sure what to make of this & where they’re going with it, but Arlene giving the pep-talk to Andy was authentic caring, which is rare for Arlene who’s usually just reactionary & silly.
lsgshelton 5 months ago
Alcide/Sam/Marcus: Agreed, resolution seemed very rushed. I kind of felt bad for Debbie Pelt since she was really struggling to do the right thing & Alcide took the most extreme step he could w/o any solid evidence of infidelity. Still, this is likely the way they launch Alcide into Were politics & trigger crazy-Debbie.
lsgshelton 5 months ago
Love triangle: How can Sookie love brutal/ruthless Eric when she fell for innocent Eric? Even though she cares for Bill, is he still in the running, really?
lsgshelton 5 months ago
“Thriller” scene: Roth you crack me up! So low budget (as they admitted in the Inside the Episode Postmortem) & blooper reel worthy as Jenna said; still, I liked that a Jason/Sookie mind-read led to a fairy-blast end to that spell.
lsgshelton 5 months ago
Disobedient Pam: Looking fwd to how this will play out. Let’s hope for eventual reconciliation since their dynamic is one of the most touching and entertaining features of the show.
lsgshelton 5 months ago
Bill/Eric sacrifice scene: Even though it made no sense in the big vamp vs. witch war (how would this stop Marnie?), I liked the acting. Bill & Eric acknowledged to each other they’re both honestly willing to die for Sookie’s safety, w/o pride or one up-man-ship. Plus later in the episode, Marnie as common enemy/Sookie-persecutor seemed to bond them together which has never happened before.
lsgshelton 5 months ago
How did you not comment on this? IMHO the best cheesy scene of the entire season so far: Bill & Eric bro-mance glances before & after Marnie’s death, & Eric sucking on Roy’s heart like a sippy cup, over-the-shoulder toss, & finger licking, LOL’d. This was almost as good as the Russell Edgington “After we eat you, we will eat your children.”
lsgshelton 5 months ago 2
You guys are so fun & bring out all the "what, really?" features/scenes! What I liked: Jesus & Jason shined bigtime & characters are growing. Bill/Eric comradery was new & entertaining. Sookie more vulnerable than we’re used to seeing her (e.g. ring o fire), instead of pushy & in charge. Crack in the Pam/Eric dynamic - meat for future eps. Sam was the bigger man & didn’t kill Marcus.
lsgshelton 5 months ago
eric drinking blood straight from a heart was the highlight of the episode.

@kronosleblu888

HAHAHAHA!! I watched 6:55 to 7:31, like 20 times! Roth, you guys should seriously do a True Blood parody, and you of course should be " Sookie!! "

I'm also sick of the love triangle. I honestly don't think either of them are good for her.

i really agree that they could have done a lot better job of finishing/progressing the storyline with alcide and sam, the whole thing was so rushed after so much build up throughout the season i thought i was a waste and could have been done so much better than it actually was

They are dragging this love triangle into ridiculousness. Eric is hotter, taller, and much better for Sookie.
I agree this episode was a clusterf&#k of ideas.

I totally agree with you about the random storylines they bring in and then they suddenly seem to become useless, the fairy stuff is the best example for that;
The writing on the show has become worse and worse, I hated episode 9 with the threesome dream but I think the writing has become even worse:
and this love triangle they try to do annoys me as hell, what for example is with the rat reveal, did Sookie have amnesia or what?? at the moment Bill shouldn´t even perceived as a love interest

you should get a guy in this reviews for next season. don't get me wrong, you guys are great, but there is a moment between your discusions of naked eric and marrying terry... that i would like someone to say "hey! and what about jessica? aint she smoking?" true blood aint justo for girls... but your reviews, sometimes... kind off.
sincerely,
