Well, it was, but in the end it was rushed because Dixie was falling apart, so they slapped the #7 back together before retiming the valves. That problem has been on 7 since 2005 after her cylinder head explosiong, but it had no affect because she had 29 inch wheels. Now she has 32 inch wheels which took power away and left her at a hauling capacity of only 5 cars. With Dixie back, they were able to retime the valves, and fix the problem, now she can pull anything.
I was just up there on tuesday, and they said she'll take up 6 cars, but she struggles to get it done. So they're still running Dixiana primarily, and fire up #7 on standby incase anything goes wrong with dixiana.
I guess they're still having some timing issues, and she loses a ton of power because of the amount of play in the gears.
I was "engineer for a day" at Roaring Camp on tuesday. I asked if we were gonna take out #7 'cause I really was hoping to... then they told me what was goin' on with her.

They finally fixed up the valve problem in the 7, now she can haul a full train again.

Oh, it had a valve problem? I knew the engine was down for a couple of years, but I thought it was being overhauled.
