  • Jay,

Thanks for this recording! Sounds GREAT!!! I wore through my Live at Jimmy's vinyl years ago and was having a grand old nostalgia session listening to this. I have the CD but really enjoy your resurrection of this Classic Recording!! Now, if we could only get a quality recording of AT THE TOP!

  • Wow ... forgot about that goofy bari sax solo ... Ah, what the heck ... loved it anyway

  • Wow! Doesn't this just DRIVE along! One of the greatest tunes every written. Shame that words were forced upon the composition. I would have done the same, just made them so stupid as to spite the enforcer!

  • It is Bruce Johnstone! He's amazing and teaching at Suny Fredonia! :)

  • My mom has Live at Jimmy's, (On Vinyl,) and it's autographed. I want it so bad.

  • awesome! reminds me of listening to my dad's vinyl album in the 70's when i was a kid and being amazed even back then. RIP M.F. and Dad

  • no shit, I searched for this sax solo for 16 yrs....for some reason i always thougth it was off Birdland...thanks, SCA.

  • I've been looking for this on cd for years but no luck. I'll never let my vinyl album go, this is truly Maynard at his best. Too bad the concert wasn't video taped, that was one lucky lunch crowd to have witnessed this event.

  • The best re cording of the best Maynard tune ever!!!!!!!!!!

  • You said this was digitized from vinyl? Cool.

  • Read your album cover. This entire album was taped at LUNCHTIME!!

  • Awesome bari solo!

  • the best sax solo ever by Dennis Deblasio

  • @Drayche

I thought it was Bruce Johnstone. Doesn't really matter who though, it is EPIC!

  • @Drayche It's Bruce Johnstone, not Deblasio.

  • can't u read? this wasdigitalized from a vinyl record to cd.

  • The best of MF, the best of everyone :)

    Fab-u-lous x

  • thank you so very much for having this track with bruce johnston on the bari

  • last time i heard this version is was on tape.

  • I'm actually holding a copy of Live at Jimmy's (on cd) in my hand lol

  • Well, I'll be darned. I've looked for that (CD) for some years now with no luck. I was told it was never released as a CD. Did they remix it (maybe not the same mix/EQ/etc)? Where did you get the CD? I'd love to hear it.

At least the cuts I have are from very clean vinyl using good preamp and gear. Minimal processing to maintain original range, levels and sound of the orig vinyl.

  • yea man just go a website like amazon and look up M.F. Horn 4&5 Live at JImmy's and it should be there...hope this helps!
