  • Nice!! Real love music. BLACK LOVE

  • I LOVE that he is just singing, no Whining, no overkill, over emotional, just pure and straight old fashion singing. Giving you an opportunity to enjoy the melody of his voice.

  • @lsc10s #6 is called "Be Thankful for What you Got" by William DeVaughn Just in case youre looking for it. Your list is killer and my faves too.

  • Where did the world go wrong that people went from writing such loving songs to the songs that people write these days?

This is beautiful. The singing and the words!

I really would like to know what was the cause. Such a drastic change!

  • what a precious song. pure classic,on Souuuuuuuuuullllllllll trainnnnnnnnnn.

  • a beautiful song.

  • Now that's good singing.

  • Where did GOOD music like this go to?! Shit today is dead!!

  • an all time classic- how could someone dislike this?? one of my favorite songs ever! still get chills when i hear it....

  • Young folks! Check out the Afro! That in itself was a statement. No chemicals. Brother is still cool! No swearing and degrading the mothers that bring our children in the world and raise them alone. Take notes.

  • DAMM I WAS 9 YEARS OLD AND MY AUNT HILLIE PLAYED THIS ALL THE TIME .. WHILE SHE DRANK A BOTTLE OF NIGHT TRIAN...SHE ALWAYS LIKE TO SING WHEN SHE WAS DRUNK

  • With that said, I just had to hear some real "I miss you, would you please come back to my life"music! They don't, can't, and just didn't pick up the blueprint of how to make a love song! Str8outtaatexas1 says it best! I'm out and your comment is about to become thumbs up number 49 and anytime I come here to listen to this jam, I will push thumbs up! Peace!

  • No doubt this group is has natural talent in every note they sing and the falsetto is awesome! I don't think todays groups produce falsettos anymore. It a thing of the past. A thing of the late sixties and seventies when groups were for real. Today they produce "False setups."

  • the lead singer was fly!!

  • I saw him perform this song a couple of weeks ago in Detroit and he sounds even better now believe it or not. Underrated for real.

  • Really good stuff.

  • this man is soooo wonderful !!!

  • I love it! regardless if you know gloria or not the song is a classic, some new artist will take it and try to redo it like they do everything else. Good work enchantment, but i guess you know that cause it was a hit!

  • 8 people don't know Gloria...or anything else, apparently! How could you give this a thumbs down? This is as good as it gets.

  • énoooooorrrrrrrrmmmmmmmmeeeeeeeeeeee!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Thisis A Good Video. My, Uncle Did the Music for it and has Gold Records Good Job

  • @ bossryno that's not a falsetto, natural voice. that makes it even more special.

  • the classic soul of the 70s- Never again will we hear melody sung with so much feeling ,, heart and smoothness as we did then-- Thanks for the video

  • no auto tune, no effects.. i love real talent

  • Amazing, the city of Detroit had so much talent, Motown slept on alot of acts in their own backyard. Shame the city is going through such a ruff time. Wish someone would bring the magic back.

  • this the shit right here !

  • Enchantment hit #25 in Billboard, 4-2-77. Anybody know if Emmanuel Johnson was born blind, or did it happen to him later on? Somebody let me know. God bless ya, for your efforts!

  • @DaveWollenberg he was born that way.....

Pick up there Greatest hits and he tells the story in thel iner notes

  • Beautiful music

  • I always thought that was a lady singing this song.

  • I apologize in advance if anyone knows another named Gloria. It has never been a name that I ever thought of perhaps naming one of my children, nor was it ever something that I would've wanted to call myself BUT the way the lead singer is saying it, makes me want my name to be Gloria for just these couple minutes of song !!! So very classic. Old school will never die ♥

  • PEEP THIS THESE GROUPS WERE'NT TRYING 2 CROSSOVER/ACTORS /OR COLABO'S THEY WENT ABOUT HONING THERE CRAFTS/SKILLS,THAT'S WHY THEY SOUND SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO GREAAAAAAAAAAAAT. DOO WAAH REPPIN DA "D"

  • this is what's called real music!! when a men were real and not afraid open up their heart to the one they loved!

  • In the days, I played this jam until I couldn't still it anymore. Today, it still has same effect on me.

  • This even takes me back.....and I wasn't even alive then lol.

  • One of the best falsetto voices ever! no doubt about it...

  • Heard Delonte West sings this to LBJ Mom, haha I made a funny, you Know Gloria is the name of LBJ mom and the song is called ... yall get it

  • Detroit always great great talent that came out. i love detroit b/c they made legends

  • The guy from Blackstreet sounds like this guy from Enchantment.

  • He has a very high voice! Who redid this song in the 1990s?

  • @BigBlueBeast Jesse Powell did the remake ..it sound so similar to the original i felt he didnt add a new to it

  • @brownboykb @brownboykb and i ain't mad at him for it...! he redid this & it's you that i need & sunshine.

& i ain't mad at him for it. i mean, i loves me some enchantment, Lord knows i do!! and i'd kill anyone dead for laying a wrong hand on this group, particularly those songs!! ps. song a little short, eh? *be well oh yea, youtube is a beast, and, yeah, it's soultrain, huh? (this is my 4th attempt to post)

  • @whumanbard: I am so sorry to hear about your mom....peace and blessing to you. Stay strong it gets easier to deal with over time. You will never forget her but time will make it easier to take.

  • Music said something back then, the artist, their style, dress, mannarism.

  • This is one of those ultimate classic, that will never die. Truly take me back to a special time, a special place.

  • Dream girl fantasies, rudely awaken pettily, thieving heartfelt realities, real heart stealing, grand openings rude, fantasy girl dream !

  • a timeless classic !!!!!

  • This is my second fav group behind Atlantic Starr

  • WOW!!! Exceptional Voice...I mean Spectacular...Gives me chills actually...Just awesome

  • It's amazing how they sound just like the record. The lead has a wonderful voice, don't know Gloria, but the way he sings, I miss her too!!! Great song.

  • The episode aired on April 9, 1977 with musical guests BT Express, Letta Mbulu, and Enchantment.

  • This episode aired on April 9, 1977 with guests BT Express, Letta Mbulu, and Enchantment.

  • This brings back nothing but good memories!!! Good Clean Love Music !!

  • its a active song in the late nite groove aka keith sweats sweat hotel down here in the south!!! love it!!!!!

  • He also WROTE the song and most if not all of their hits. Todays singers couldn't even stand next to a mic with EJ in the same room. Record co. think older blacks won't buy music well what they won't buy is bullshit. So that's why they don't buy what's currently out there.

  • Am I crying or is this dude one of the best falsettos ever? I'm getting chills....gotta turn it off. NO! I gotta listen again!

  • @bossryno . . . maybe not like Philip Bailey or even Ron Banks(Dramatics) But seriously dynamic. . . !

  • @bossryno: That smooth, effortless voice belongs to Mr. Emanuel "EJ" Johnson. There's a few others who I'd categorize with him, such as the late Wayne Cooper (Cameo), Kevon Edmonds (After 7).

  • One major problem with R&B today is there is no true investment in the discovery, grooming and development of black male singers anymore. Most of the R&B singers these days are women and the guys are mostly rapping. Hell, the industry cares more about finding white guys who can sing R&B. As a result R&B is missing a lot of that old time magic.

  • @Hibbs4Prez True. But Brian McKnight just about disappeared.

  • sweet groove, also chec out shoe shoe shine by the dynamic superiors and anything by the "natural four" enjoy

  • if u liike this check out the dynamic superiors "shoe shoe shine" or anything by the natural four, really good music.

  • This episode aired on April 9, 1977 with guests BT Express, Letta Mbulu, and Enchantment

  • This episode aired on April 16, 1977 with guests BT Express, Letta Mbulu, and Enchantment.

  • ''shawty i wanna fuck',' ''i wanna fuck you,'' ''your pussy taste like honey'', ''bounce da ass on my dick'', yeah i said it. this is the bullshit that they call r&b today. senseless, meaningless, tasteless, garbage. with the exception of a few good artist today we have no more enchantments, delfonics, ready for the world, shalamar, commodores, silk, morris day & the time, temprees, rose royce ect.. that's why kids today are so out of control & locked up because of poor parenting & garbage ass music.

  • @str8outtatexas1So true,my 8 year old listen to music and artist.I show her the difference and she knows what's up she tell her little friends at school about old school music.

  • @Nosetta989 I am glad I am not the only parent teaching her kids about old school music. My 12 year old has trained his ear to recognize certain sounds. He can listen to Raphael Saadiq and discuss how it sounds like an older song. He and my daughter know Temptations songs when they hear them. They can name J-5 songs. We cannot let them be ignorant of black music history.

  • @str8outtatexas1 damn u nailed that shit!!!! that's what i'm talkin about...

  • @str8outtatexas1 damn u nailed that shit!!!! that's what i'm talkin about...

  • @str8outtatexas1 you are so right

  • @str8outtatexas1 U Ain't Lying

  • @str8outtatexas1 omg I am rotflmao!!! but, you are sOoOo right!!!

  • @str8outtatexas1 LMAO!!! you hit the nail on the head bro.... your funny as hell...

  • @str8outtatexas1 I have to say I agree with a lot of what you said...People have to start actively parenting(the ones who don't) 106 & Park can't be a babysitter nor MTV...The songs of past decades have staying power because they have lyrical content that is of substance and helped teach values about how you should and shouldn't treat people (i.e. backstabbers, treat her like a lady,etc)...and parents tried their best...the village helped raise the child(ren). Praying for unity!

  • @str8outtatexas 1000% correct

  • @str8outtatexas1 - You hit that nail on the head ... HARD! If you allow your children to listen to JUNK - it is JUNK that will attach to them and attract to them. Like our parents told us... CLASS will tell thru it ALL!

  • @str8outtatexas1

I couldn't agree with you more. The drivelous crap by these brainless dick grabbin no talent thugs is sickening. It's no wonder our relationships are in the sad state of affairs that they're in today. Thanks to these miscreants.

  • @str8outtatexas1 You have a very colorful way of stating it and you are right. This music is what is called the "Expression Of The Art Of Love". But we have allowed our music to be hijacked and our opinions have been given to us that want to keep us in a carnal state of mind. it is time as it has been for over 20 years to ONLY SUPPORT ARTIST THAT HAVE ONLY A POSITIVE MESSAGE TO GIVE TO US!!!!!!!!

  • I LOVE YOU GLORIA R

  • Yeah Jesse Powell does sound like EJ.Johnson. Kevon Edmonds from After 7 sounds like him too.

  • Enchantment and the song "Gloria" are the definition of smooth!

  • I actually remembered this episode, they didn't lip-sing

this paticular song on soul train. I remeber this episode

    very well, like yesterday.

  • The lead singer's Tenor voice is as pure as any tenor could be. He's one of those guys whose voice doesn't fit his face. This only means he is extremely gifted. What a voice dawg!

  • @DawgcityClev - Like Father, Like Son!
