Margarito didn't beat Paul Williams and Williams would most likely defeat Cotto so IMO Williams is effectively the number one WW right now because he would defeat the entire elite. Mosley pretty much exposed Cotto in their fight and Margarito just exploited what a lot of us impartial fans already knew. No offence to Cotto though, he fought very well for a lot of the fight and showed why he deserved to be in the ring with Margarito.

I don't think so. Most Mayorga fans claim that his chin is so great. But it seriously sucks compared to Margarito for instance. Mayorga went down on the first (past his prime) de la hoya left hook that landed flush and got knocked the fuck out later in the fight.

I had williams - margarito 8-4 for Williams. I just don't see how anyone could've scored that fight for Margarito on the basis of a couple of good mid-rounds. But man, all props go to Margs for what he did to Cotto, felt sorry for the dude and I agree that if you're getting a beating like that, it's not worth putting your career, life and family at stake just to please some bloodthirsty boxing fans.

It's not about heart to get in a ring but heart to dig deep when in the trenches of war. I respect all boxers but there are times when boxers just do not have it in them to compete when things get thick in the ring. Zab hit Clottey with some of his best combinations and punches and still couldn't figure a way to win. Therefore he was demoralized which ultimately led to his decision to risk the fight on the cards. It happens and I still believe Zab can fight.
