I need help im trying to update my macbook from mac os x update combined (intel) to Mac OS X 10.5. I NEED MAJOR HELP everytime i go to software update it always says Software Update doesn’t have any new software for your computer at this time.
my updater is in japanese and i dont understand it at all.. is there way change to back it to english(Without Changing region settings to English !!![Win XP])
Well this video is not for a switcher because they do not understand the OS they should use the updater. I think this video is for someone who is a beginner and want to do the patches manually. More power to you for make this video. My opinion would be let new people use system updater.
if you just click on the software update on the top left of your screen (finder desktop) you can do automatic updates from there and not have to worry about what updates are available.
I feel really sorry/sad that you still think your using windows
and haven't gotten used to using your mac as a mac...
P.S. what you are talking about is totally unnecessary unless making an Update disk or using an x86 patched version of MAC OSX to run on an PC Intel or AMD
Please, I don't need your pity... it just means I'm that much more informed than you when it comes to understanding the inner workings of my system. I'm glad you think I still use Windows more than I do OS X because the purpose of this video is to help switchers coming to the Mac platform gain a better understanding of how to patch the OS. No one made videos like this when I switched to OS X so I'm just doing this to help other people out. And FYI, OS X has been my primary OS for 5 years.
Great video again, but one suggestion. You should really look into getting a screen recording app, like iShowU, or SreenFlown, etc, etc. It might make your vids less shaky, and a lot easier for you.
In general I agree with your comment. At one point I did try using SnapzPro to do some screen recording, however it brought CPU usage to 70% (thus cranking my fans to jet speed), created large 2 GB files, and took me over an hour to compress the videos to post it to YouTube. Ever since that experience, I have been very skeptical of any type of screen capture software and if I can find a screen capture that overcomes all of those shortcomings I may use it in the future.
