When your on expert (the level when you get all of the estovokian special paint schemes) why on the last level is there an F-4? Can you get an F-4 if you get all of the medals?
@bonzosinclair The F-4 is one of the aces in the Assault Record. As you should be able to tell, there's no box for an F-4 in the hangar, ergo it is not a playable aircraft.
@Chewy087 Using the ECMP is fine, since its effectiveness is defensive and does not inflict damage. Anything that can do damage that ISN'T the machine gun is a big no-no.

im so pissed cause i read the description NOW and i see that u cant get legenndary doing free mode. i was up till midnight doing campaign taking no damage. then on the last level i fricking am like cussing cause im taking damage so much, then i complete it seeing no medals unlocked. :(

@paulman92 Well when i got the Strictly Attacker medal, i had Shamrock use the CFA-44 (because i'm lazy) and i still got the medal, so it's safe to say that the same goes for your medal
Do you have to complete the campaign using strictly attacker, fighter, multirole on a certain difficulty or can you just go through on easy for example?
For me, the guardian medal was incredibly easy because I (besides "guarding" Shamrock) made him attack enemies while I was covering and completing any mission.
@JRCOBRA2001 Not that I'm aware of. As long as you get an S on the mission itself (which usually means you'll need mostly S ranks for operations anyway), then you should get whatever Star medal you need.
I like the idea of using the laser rail gun instead of the ADMN. I did complete the mission on ace without the rail gun, but using the rail gun was infinitely easier.
Damage has nothing to do with it, and time only has a small part to play in the grade. It all depends on your mission score. If you only destroy mission critical targets, you're guaranteed a low grade like C or B. If you want the S, you'll need to destroy almost everything on the map. Watch my AC6 playthrough vids if you need help.

First of all: Great guide, really. But I'm not really sure whether your statement about Needle' Eye is correct. I just finished up Liberation of Gracemeria and was landing at the airport two times and after finishing the mission I got both, the 10 frontline landings achievement and Needle's Eye. And I'm pretty sure that I wasn't going through the return line.
Indeed. At the time I was only going off what info was available to me. There were different methods coming from different sources, so I just went with one of them.
@TKSparten117 I disagree. it is very good, but Ace Combat 5 was a bit better. Or should I say more funner. AC5 had a lot more aircraft for you to fly like the F-35, some migs, F-5, SU-37, and tons more. AC5 let you land and take off from aicraft carrieers AC6 didnt, but let you land in a airfield which I give them credit was fun. And AC5's storyline was more fun aswell, I felt more of a connection to my wingmen then i did about shammrock

@dasaxophonist Actually, if you're flying a naval based aircraft such as the F/A-18F Super Hornet, you can cross the return line and you have yourself a carrier landing.
@dasaxophonist i agree on AC5 was funner. Its storyline was awesome!!! However the fact that u cant land on a carrier in AC6 is Bullshit. You have to use a carrier aircraft. I.E. Su33 F18 F14. When you cross the return line you will land on a carrier.

The hardest mission I think on normal for Legendary Ace for me wasn't mission 15 "Chandelier." I had the most trouble on Mission 14 when you have to destroy the missiles going towards Gracemeria, all the fighters managed to get behind me and shot me with their machine guns, you can crash into the ground and start from the last checkpoint if you had no damage at that checkpoint, if you do, you need to start form the beginning.
Not that it matters a great deal but I do believe that the "Guardian" Medal is attributed to protecting Shamrock at the end of the Mulloch Desert Mission, when it's just you and Shamrock are up against Strigon Team alone.
One question about the sharpshooter medal. On mission 9, for some reason, I can't damage the cockpit of the Aigaion with the gun, I know that I'm hitting it dead on, but it won't lose health. Is that a unique thing for my game? Does that happen to anyone else? If you know a way around this little glitchy setback, let me know okay. Thanks.
S rank is the highest "grade" you can get. the more you kill the higher your grade. Free mission only works if you have been through the campaign on expert difficulty at least once
i have a quick question. I have gotten a rank S for all the missions on the hard difficulty outside of one. If i go back and play that mission again and get an S will i get the medal?

you have to get in easy all s rank, in normal all s rank, in hard all s rank, in expert all s rank and at last you have to get in ace all s rank. then you will four special medals, bronce, silver, gold, and ace. good luck.
no it doesnt, I got the ace/platinum yesterday and I have to go back and do easy if I want the bronze. Also like he said doing free missions is pretty nice for this. Just look at where you didnt get an S and redo that one.

I tried, I tried, and I tried!!! The Platinum Star was the one I was after...I always get A rank because I would get C during the Pasternak duel. I noticed that there's a high-speed jet that leaves the combat area, but it's hard to reach it. UGH!
The problem with drones is that eventually, they'll fizzle out and new ones come up. I've had bad luck with them because they dart around too much!

It is possible. Definetly use the A-10. All you have to do is not crash, and it will die sooner or later. Also make sure you do it on Normal, that way you don't have to shoot inside at the end... Unless you already got it since this comment was posted four months ago
Watch his Estovakian Assault Record video. The Emmerian paints are all given after certain missions for the first time. The Estovakian paints are given after a playthrough of the campaign on level normal. Lastly, the last slot is for the Estovakian Ace paints; the ones he reads off how to get, where, and what mission.
How do you get an S on "Seige on Silvat" and "Liberation of Gracemeria?" I know for mission 13 you said to snipe the UAVs at the end, but I still cannot get an S. And Seige on Silvat is really stupid for me... I have done it like nine times now and I still cannot get an S. Help?

does shamrock have to have the same type air craft as you when your going for the medals where you have to complete a campaign with specific aircraft?
I was also curious if you knew whether you can get 3 medals with one campaign run through. Medals: "Night owl" (utilizing the Tornado's machine gun and EMCP second weapon), "Gold Marksman" (200 kills with machine gun; I have the bronze and silver marksman already), and "Sharpshooter" for clearing the entire campaign with the gun only. I don't want to waste my time if it's not possible. I'd just as happy do it in 2 or 3 passes :). Thanks.
You've essentially answered your own question there. The answer is obviously 'yes'. If your using ECMP then you won't get penalised for using a missile based weapon. Using the Tornado will get you Night Owl etc etc..
I'll be honest I was able to get S-rank on mission 13, difficulty expert, utilizing the ADMMs. The drones don't evade very well from long distances. My strategy was to fly at low altitude around the bay and suddenly pulling a loop, aiming up at the sky, targeting, and firing. If you fly within the bay in tight maneuvering circles you should be able to maintain lvl. ESM support from the naval ships. Just a suggestion for those who don't like the EML very much :)
on mission 13 the ace you have to defeat(forgot name), there is a point where he is monologinging and he flyes straight and doesnt try to eveade missiles. perfect to do with attacker planes, more specificly the tornado

The hardest mission I think on normal for Legendary Ace for me wasn't mission 15 "Chandelier." I had the most trouble on Mission 14 when you have to destroy the missiles going towards Gracemeria, all the fighters managed to get behind me and shot me with their machine guns, you can crash into the ground and start from the last checkpoint if you had no damage at that checkpoint, if you do, you need to start form the beginning.

The Su-37 isn't in AC6. And the Yellow paint scheme is for the Su-33. I use "Su-33 Yellow" as a shortened name for "Su-33 with Yellow paint scheme".

Not that it matters a great deal but I do believe that the "Guardian" Medal is attributed to protecting Shamrock at the end of the Mulloch Desert Mission, when it's just you and Shamrock are up against Strigon Team alone.

One question about the sharpshooter medal. On mission 9, for some reason, I can't damage the cockpit of the Aigaion with the gun, I know that I'm hitting it dead on, but it won't lose health. Is that a unique thing for my game? Does that happen to anyone else? If you know a way around this little glitchy setback, let me know okay. Thanks.

S rank is the highest "grade" you can get. the more you kill the higher your grade. Free mission only works if you have been through the campaign on expert difficulty at least once

One question, if you complete all Campaign Mode missions at S-rank on for instance, Ace difficulty, does that automatically unlock the Gold, Silver and Bronze medals for the lower difficulties?! Thanks in advance.

no it will only unlock the ace medal.
you have to get in easy all s rank, in normal all s rank, in hard all s rank, in expert all s rank and at last you have to get in ace all s rank. then you will four special medals, bronce, silver, gold, and ace. good luck.

no it doesnt, I got the ace/platinum yesterday and I have to go back and do easy if I want the bronze. Also like he said doing free missions is pretty nice for this. Just look at where you didnt get an S and redo that one.

I tried, I tried, and I tried!!! The Platinum Star was the one I was after...I always get A rank because I would get C during the Pasternak duel. I noticed that there's a high-speed jet that leaves the combat area, but it's hard to reach it. UGH!
The problem with drones is that eventually, they'll fizzle out and new ones come up. I've had bad luck with them because they dart around too much!

I can not kill the aigion with just guns. ive done evrthing i kan think of and nothing. i have evry other medal and all the service records, but i just can destroy the aigion with a gun, ive evan used an a-10 and nothing. help! i vid wud be nice.

It is possible. Definetly use the A-10. All you have to do is not crash, and it will die sooner or later. Also make sure you do it on Normal, that way you don't have to shoot inside at the end... Unless you already got it since this comment was posted four months ago

Watch his Estovakian Assault Record video. The Emmerian paints are all given after certain missions for the first time. The Estovakian paints are given after a playthrough of the campaign on level normal. Lastly, the last slot is for the Estovakian Ace paints; the ones he reads off how to get, where, and what mission.

How do you get an S on "Seige on Silvat" and "Liberation of Gracemeria?" I know for mission 13 you said to snipe the UAVs at the end, but I still cannot get an S. And Seige on Silvat is really stupid for me... I have done it like nine times now and I still cannot get an S. Help?

crashed 2 times in lvl15 with starting from last checkpoint, no problem there so you only need to start mission from beginning if you go through a checkpoint with damage

You're allowed to use Allied Attack. Just to be on the safe side I suggest you play through on Normal.

I was also curious if you knew whether you can get 3 medals with one campaign run through. Medals: "Night owl" (utilizing the Tornado's machine gun and EMCP second weapon), "Gold Marksman" (200 kills with machine gun; I have the bronze and silver marksman already), and "Sharpshooter" for clearing the entire campaign with the gun only. I don't want to waste my time if it's not possible. I'd just as happy do it in 2 or 3 passes :). Thanks.

You've essentially answered your own question there. The answer is obviously 'yes'. If your using ECMP then you won't get penalised for using a missile based weapon. Using the Tornado will get you Night Owl etc etc..

I'll be honest I was able to get S-rank on mission 13, difficulty expert, utilizing the ADMMs. The drones don't evade very well from long distances. My strategy was to fly at low altitude around the bay and suddenly pulling a loop, aiming up at the sky, targeting, and firing. If you fly within the bay in tight maneuvering circles you should be able to maintain lvl. ESM support from the naval ships. Just a suggestion for those who don't like the EML very much :)

on mission 13 the ace you have to defeat(forgot name), there is a point where he is monologinging and he flyes straight and doesnt try to eveade missiles. perfect to do with attacker planes, more specificly the tornado
