  • where did you find those railcars? I've never been inside anold one.

  • hey nice video i really enjoy taking a trip inside i never rode those things,i wish i could of i probably did as a kid but never knew that probably.LOL i hope one day some day body would fix them up and get them in a museum they still look good.any way good video thanks for that tour.

  • how did you get in? and how did you not get caught

  • this brings back memories. used to ride these to boston when i was a kid

  • how did you get there

  • VIA Rail Canada might be interested acquiring those RDC cars for rebuilding for service in Canada.

  • @MrMeteor2010 fuck no! SEPTA should have these RDC's. Why do Canadians always get the good stuff?

  • @PJAMAZ LOL yeah man you right they do get the good stuff LOL i notice that i remember back in the day remember the united aircraft turbos, they had a nice fleet of them plus the service was better in Canada, then over here.in northeast.in New York City.Septa should have them, hey i guess the Canadians just got it like that LOL

  • Great video but what a mess for these Budd Rail Diesel Cars. They could be restore and renovated these railcars and remove graffiti for a tourist line or for Amtrak and Via Rail Canada's for new trains. It's so sad to see these railcars like that.

  • u know..these cars could be converted to pulled coaches for a torist line..i mean they are sound...body is in good shape inside/out...one car would need the correct trucks reinstalled and other work but with the right time and money i think they could be brought back to operation...they can sit outside for a long time and only have surface rust..but i would still check the frames..a car can look good on the outside but if the frame is gone its done..cool vid!!

  • I've always wondered what those cars look like on the inside.

  • Seems a shame these are sitting there being slowly trashed by yobs and the elements. The stainless carbodies look pretty good, though they don't seem to be on the right trucks.Surely someone could use these!Talk about a throw-away society.

  • i hate seening stuff like this great pices of history with markings on it from a buch of losers that have no respect for anything or anyone and are ether sting in jail or dead today the tlc iis pretty bad shape but still can be restored and up and running i just found out today the cnj rdc was seen running on its wn power in capemay new jersey pretty nest to see again

  • sooo sad.

  • I live in the UK and have visited Boston many times over thje last 25 years and remember seeing these units in service in Push-Pull mode with F units.Took some photos from a passing Orange Line train last October and have watched them deteriate over the years

  • I wouldn't restore them. I'd treat them as empty shells, strip them down and install all new wiring and engines and make new rail cars out of them. Put them back on the rails in revenue service.

I think it would cost too much to restore them to original condition.

  • The interior of these cars appear to be in bad condition, seats and floors worn out and grafiti all over the place.

  • They look like hell with the graffiti

  • Cool video

  • I see these cars everyday as my (Lowell) train arrives and leaves Boston. This is a damn shame. Hopefully some railroad restoration can take them and clean them up like they did with one at the Bedford Depot Park in Bedford, MA. SAD! :..(

  • why dont they take these hunks of junk and scrap them they just sit their and rust and brake down more

  • @sieman700 Why should they? Structurally they are in pretty good shape considering their age and status. They aren't in the way, why not leave them there with hopes that they can one day be restored or sent to a museum?

  • @jdgator95 ya true

  • @sieman700 Exactly. The only thing that means anything is something new and clean and mass-produced. Everything that's older should just be used with minimal care until it breaks, then throw it away. Isn't that how you follow-the-leader Consumers think??

  • Wow, what a shame!

  • Great Video!!!

  • @ck1649 Thanks

  • wow these old trains look good on the inside. I've only seen those cars on the outside when we were going over that somerville bridge. how were you allowed inside one of these things? do you know people who works at the mbta or something?

  • @ReccaDreamer Yes

  • @jdgator95 man. you're one lucky person. I wish I knew someone like that. o:

  • It's so sad to read you saying you had permission to get inside the cars...

All the brainless who destroyed them were also allowed to get in there?

I live half a world away from you... and here it's the same story: hte most dangeorus kind of guy is that armed with a camera!!

Despite the sadness, thanks for sharing your video! (BTW: I'm a a great RDC lover)

  • And you got in how?

  • I've always wanted to get a closer look at these cars. I'm surprised you were allowed in them. I thought they t would have been afraid of you falling through the floor or something. Perhaps they should be used for a special Halloween train! haha They look pretty scary inside.

  • @gp40mc Structurally these cars aren't in bad such shape considering their age, just goes to show how well built they are compared to the more modern cars which have rotting floors after half the age of those RDCs.

  • @jdgator95 yeah I once went in some old crappy cars and I thought I was going to fall through the floor, there was a lot of water on the wooden floor so that was probably rotting it away. I wonder if the Hobo/Winnipasaukee would be interested in these cars if they go up for sale. They've got a bunch of RDC's they got from the T awhile ago.

  • Wow.the t should give those to some railroad museum.

  • @romanstransitpage it would take alot of work to fix those.

  • It is a damn shame to see these RDC's like this I wish the T could fix them up and use them on their lines instead of leaving them out there to be vandalized. Hell, if I had room or the money I'd take them and fix them up.

  • @kickboxingpanda Yep, I agree.
