@DAL0525 Apparently, when it comes to anime, people think that Japan will always do it better (intros from Jap musicians, dubbing that matches voices, nothing gets mixed like it does in translation, etc.), but I wonder if these guys know they tried to do a TMNT anime of their own...and it looked awful. Look up the intro alone and you may cringe.

@Zakurako Better intros yes, better dubbing sometimes no, dont believe me? Look up Japanese Beast wars and Beast wars metals. The most awesome intros this side of Masaki Endoh and JAM project coupled with the most horrific dub work this side of 4kids.

Besides all of 1985 TMNT was cringeworthy by todays standards. It was made by Archie for craps sake!

@DAL0525, most of the time the american openings don't turn out as awesome as the original, besides if japan replaces the opening for an american cartoon then it's no problem because we can watch that opening on the DVDs, so the only people who should complaint about japan replacing the TMNT opening is the japanese audience... who knows? maybe they did complaint... maybe they do prefer the american opening.

Let me see... TMNT is an american show and comic book. Everyone with even the remotest amount of knowledge of the Turtles knows this. yes there are Japanese versions of... infact TMNT is a worldwide thing. the point I'm trying to make here is Kevin Eastman & Peter Laird (the creators of the TMNT) made the TMNT with there comic in 1984(in America) and the Turtles are therefore an American product that is viewed worldwide. Even if I like Japanese intros as much as the next, I must admit, I love the USA intro better. Im sorry but this beat just didn't seem to spell KICK-ASS with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. It sounds like there will be a bunch of Emo-Affairs like a typical EMO anime. I have no problem with stuff like that but TMNT is full of dangers and turn of events with comical humor because of Michealangello. NOT all "You Gotta believe in yourself!"-ish like Pokemon. C'MON! That is a good example of a good J-Pop or J-Rock intro. Mainly because it fits with the characters. Especially Sonic since he is the main adrinaline rush hero of the show. So a very fast beat song fits best! It was like that with American version as well. Just that the intro is 30 seconds shorter. Would the show be more fitting if the Japanese Intro theme was more steady and Barbra Shrisand-like? (pardon spelling) Heck, I don't think so. That is why I preferred the USA intro of TMNT.

The original TV show was actually toned down for kids to watch back in 1992. The real story was as funny as it is violent. Case in point, Casey Jones and Shredder. And the japanese didn't do this series. The 2003 TMNT actually came from the US. The creators wanted to display the story as it was meant to be with the alterations of having Shredder as an Utrom. And THAT was for the reason of avoiding parents opposing.

I completely agree whole heatedly... But honestly, that may not happen. TMNT was a parody story back when the idea first started. The Foot Clan was a parody of The Hand Clan which are enemies of Dare Devil from Marvel. But over time, when TMNT became popular on its own, the story was redone by IMAGE comics to have a darker theme and a full official story to it. It was very successful however when it was put on TV in 1986, that is when the entire story was watered-down to the show we know.
