  • god bless people like you i do the same thing i live in so cal there also my favorite lizard then the banded gecko also native to so cal.

  • @22CODPRO22 Thank you. I run a sanctuary here and the goal is to implement release of captive bred animals back to the wild. You can find my facebook page at facebook.com/hornedlizards...also facebook.com/reptilerescue...and wichitafallsreptilerescue.webs.com...we subsist entirely from our own pockets and donations.

  • Thanks for guiding me.hope your horned Lizards live long.i will check out some of your other videos. Bye

  • where did you buy the horned lizards?

  • @TheTeddy2610 I did not buy them. This is a rescue and they are all rescues or captive bred.

  • @PhrynosomaTexas thank you. cool. I love how they eat. If i had the chance to adopt or buy one, i would probably do it

  • @TheTeddy2610 I don't support that line of thinking. These animals are not suitable as pets just because the look cool. Zoos have a hard enough time keeping them alive, and one zoo just sent me theirs this summer because it's partner died 2 weeks after they got them. I would encourage you to pass if you ever got the chance. The lizards should only be kept by the most serious, the most experience, the most dedicated, the most financially resourceful. This is not "pet" material.

  • @PhrynosomaTexas you are right. They look very cool but they do look like they are very hard to keep alive though. You are right. I really like your video though.

  • @TheTeddy2610 I appreciate it. See my other horned lizard videos too. I have several. I study these lizards and rescue them, and it's a tough job. I understand why people like them and why they want to keep them, but it just doesn't work out. 90+% of people that get them, kill them in just a few months. A lot of times people contact me to turn them over when they are in bad shape after they realize they can't keep up with them. To feed them it could cost you $20 a week too.

  • Sweet!! when I was younger my brother caught one, and we were feeding it ants, next thing we know we hear trashing around and scraping, we had put to many ants in there and they attacking the poor lil guy. He was such a cool lizard.

  • @Ace8off And that's why people who are not extremely experienced with reptiles should not keep them. There are too many ways to kill them if you don't know exactly what you are doing.

  • cool video

  • They are in a contest, Who can eat the most ants. lol

  • where do you buy the ants?

  • @veilchameleon I don't buy ants. I sell ants.

  • @PhrynosomaTexas how much do u sell the ants for?

  • @mrasswipe360 check my profile for the website.

  • those ants are getting jumped

  • what things do they eat?

  • @alyssagirl123456 Pogonomyrmex genus Red Harvester Ants for the most part. This makes up more than 90% of the diet in some species. This is what they are eating in the video, and they put away thousands of them a week.

  • how do you tell if your horny toad is male or female?

  • @benavidezkid11 Experience and comparison. Males have hemipenal bulges and wider tail base. Some species have post ventral scales as well.

  • And the P. coronatum blainvillii is protected and a violation of CA Fish and Game code to possess without permit.

  • greetings, i believe i have already subscribed to you but i haven't sent you a message or anything. i have a horned lizard myself (Phrynosoma coronatum blainvillii) and he is doing great but i was wondering how do you get the ants to stay in a pile. when i put some harvester ants in my lizards tank they run around all over. I don't think he minds but it was pretty cool to see how you have them all in a pile an they can eat all relaxed and the like.

  • I absolutely DO NOT sell horned lizards. Not even those that are unrestricted on possession. I am a reptile rescuer who specializes in horned lizards, and my efforts are for the preservation of horned lizards and their habitats, and for their general welfare, not the pet trade!

  • I understand I really want see find out Reptile Show on weekend but They selling frilled dragon in Arizona GREAT I LOVE Frilled dragon other lizards

  • Frilled dragon is not from Az., but I recommend you research them before getting one. I don't know your experience level, but they are not regarded as a typical lizard for beginners.

  • @PhrynosomaTexas hi i have 2 lizards too bit one of them its babby so he cant eat grass hopers so i have to give him ants but how in the world you catch them i only can catch about 4 with a painting brush even with that i cant catch too manyso how do you catch them?

  • email me pictures of the lizards and the ants you use. Giving ants to a baby can kill them if they are too large or wrong kind. If these are horned lizards you captured, you should know they are protected in Mexico and illegal to keep without a scientific permit. Most are going to die within months if you don't know exactly what you are doing, especially a baby. I recommend you let them go where you found them during the morning or evening. Might also keep you out of trouble with the Federales.
