I'm having fun on my $350 bike, with 30 years hard core offroad biking I can ride just about anything and have fun. Competition is a whole different story. Too bad you can compete in motocross for almost the same money. $5000 almost buys a nice 250cc. Who are these bike manufacturer trying to impress/fool? Not me.
I'm planning on buying spare brake pads for my '09 GF Tassajara with Shimano M486, hydraulic disc, 160mm CenterLock rotors and the stock pads are Shimano resin B01S. There is a 1st version, as well as a 2nd version. Can someone please tell me what the differences are between the two?
Mtbrvideos or viewers, I intend to buy a mountain bike and I'm new on this thing, can anyone advise me what size of bike should I buy. I'm around 5' 61/2" tall.
@mark040477 you are right. some are penoy eaters who do not want to have any encounter with the little basang sisiw lol
o.t. i used to think penoy was a myth, why? cuz since i heard about penoy when i was just a kid till when i was in my late 20's i have never seen a penoy. always when i ask the balut person wherever side street it may be. theres always no penoy for 20 years! i thought penoy was a myth that was too good to be true. but i'v seen and had one recently, now i believe =P
@VaSpark Doesn't matter, 'cause you're so much faster on the 29er, people will not have time to judge its appearance. :-) Yes, I have ridden the Superfly 100.
@oNypeo obviously this bike is not made for you dude, apparently you dont make enough money, or you are probably too cheap to fancy your lifestyle by a bit
I'm 5'7" and I have a 2006 Gary Fisher Kaitai. I think it's a perfect fit for me. it's not about looking cool, it's about maximum efficiency. My bike does turn heads though.
To better explain the 29er - The rim is actually a regular road size wheel that you could find on most race bikes - it has been beef'd up to handle the larger tire size. The actual size of the wheel is 28" but with the extra volume of the tires - it becomes a 29er. Advantages of a 29er are: Rolls faster, maintain speed better, rolls over more objects, rolls of over larger objects, climbs better, Better for riders coming from a road bike finding 26" wheels hard to get used too.
@Randoexpress It all im what you want a CC mtn bike entry should be no more than 1100 hundy. remember many many people go out and buy super expensive bike and never ride them. so check ebay super great deals and remember you can buy a an entry level bike and build it custom to your needs. I have a sugar-3 all xtr ugrades but keeps the hayez baby...dont go over board... i pass fuckers on the hill with bike that are 3 times as much as mine and i LOVE IT! :)
Hey ive been riding a 08 felt Q620 for a year now got it in the feb of 09 as a left over and have rode the poor thing to the ground i can ride on the back wheel for like 900 feet and i love the thing (well whats left of it) needless to say a ride very hard and was thinking i should get a fisher mullet do you think that is a very well made bike? other wise the thing will be in the shop a week after a buy it thats why i ask lol
the mullet is a great dirt jump bike if thats what your looking for and if you buy a gary fisher you can trust it being reliable plus their frames have a lifetime warranty and all components have a one year to five year warranty so if you get the gf you will love it
This bike is gorgeous...I have a 99 Procaliber that I still ride, it is so light!!!...hopefully when I get a new mtb I will be able to grab a Gary Fisher superfly hardtail
I'd say it's fantastic for entry level. I'm pretty experienced (well, I've mtb'd for years at least) and bought a Tassajara for a cheaper and more reliable ride and have been nothing but impressed. The geometry is fantastic and the components are good enough to keep around for a while. I'd just say to upgrade the fork, which I did for my Tass. It became a whole new and better bike!
You'll never be dissapointed with a GF hardtail in my opinion.
Forgot to add. I have the Tass that is the Genesis Geometry, not the Genesis 2 geometry which uses an offset fork. Be sure you do not go outside the proper offset of the bike if the Wahoo is supplied with a specific fork, as you will pretty much be throwing away the real draw o the G2 geometry. Good luck!
Anytime darko. Please feel free to PM me if you have any more questions. Always glad to see another mountain biker. Warning though, you'll get hooked!
Hhaha I'm fully aware of that! I use to race BMX and use to dirt jump and I was hooked on that stuff but other things got in the way. Wanted a new dirt jumping bike but saw some videos of MTB and looks like a BLAST.
SSSttt ooy! Filipino! I am pinoy myself and nice review of the bike by the way. I prefer a steel rigid or hardtail myself though.

Carbon fiber is light, but it cracks. Plus they don't have the same lifetime warranty as the aluminum frames. I learned this the hard way.

I think a good entry level bike is the Specialized- rockhopper. That's what I bought in 2009. I payed 770.00 for it. Not too much, not too little.
