@agentfancy the sensor is only 1/8" so it's not so good for low light, try shooting with external light and you 'll see a great difference

bhai this is not an HD camera, it's th entry level SD camera, which mean the resolution is 720x576.

The price in Pakistan is around 29,000 for new one and the battery goes for around 8000

I decided to convert a review in Urdu, but my editing software is busted, which means i m late on many reviews.

Mein Pakistani hon yaar, aur nahi mein cricket fan nahi hon, lihaza Shoaib aur Sania ke case mein kuch baat nahi ker sakta :P

The price you are getting is right. Yes the imported video is in avi format which is actually MPEG-2 wrapped in AVI.

But this format is also quite heavy, better use a proper editing software to de-interlace the video and export in lighter format like the WMV.

I use Sony Vegas 9.0, I use the bundled software just for importing the footage.

when you turn on the camera, touch the small home icon(top left corner), the menu will open, now touch the small briefcase icon(bottom right), there you 'll find a button named "Steady Shot", touch to get the On and Off option fot steady shot.

I just check your model number and it seems that both SR47 and SR37 are the same camcorder but sold with different names in different regions.

Mine is Middle East and yours is UK or Europe.

No Difference in Specs(Apparently).

Will filming in front of a TV spoil your camcorder?

I don't think so, But it will ruin your video a bit as it will upset the white balance with change in contrast and colors on the TV Screen.

But I never heard of TV ruining a Camcorder before.

I'm planning to get one of these, but now there's new DCR-SR67.

1. Apart from its 80GB HDD, what are the other differences between those two?

2. How much is the battery pack? I'm a foreigner studying in Bangalore, India.

SR-67 is a good camcorder

apart from 80GB

it has less zoom 25x

BUT

It has a bigger sensor (1/6" vs 1/8") and that makes all the difference.

1/6" is a standard for SD video.

If you want better colour production and better low light performance then go for sr67.

if you want zoom then sr-47.

The battery pack is somewhere around 9000 rupees in Pakistan.

Check any local online shopping website for best measure

60X zoom is not that much of a use.

25X is more than enough.

You can charge the battery on the camcorder, however if you want separate charger, you are gonna have to buy one.

It's Sony's Own Battery Pack. Which means it's available on Sony stores.

The model name of the battery pack is NP FH-100 and it can provide up to 10 Hrs of recording time.

Plus this battery shows the exact time left on the charge, which is useful in many situations

WHen you attach the camera to PC, you can either copy,paste the videos from camcorder to PC(Like you do on a Flash) or you can use the bundled software to import the videos which is much faster. And by video in night if you mean NIGHT-SHOT, No this camcorder does not have that, but it has OK quality in the dim lights

Yeah actually i got a ton of video of my farewell party at my university,

I ll try to edit it and post it on youtube.

If you need answer now then, i 'd say it works just OK, not brilliant.

But this is the only cam with so many features in this price range.

Remember, it does not have the best video quality, but it has the best value package.
