@sarinax8 Oh, I think I know why it is called the Akatsuki (Red Dawn). It symbolizes a flame! It means how a cloud covers up all of the sun and turns the moon red. Because if seperated the moon portion is actually to symbolize that as the fire burns the moon turns a sort of red or yellowish color, thus producing sort of an image of something or someone that is living inside the moon as if it it an egg.

Oh, you're right! I read the dictionary and looks like you right. But why a cloud for a symbol? Dawn means the setting sun which also means the rising of the moon. Why isn't there supposed crescent? That was my main question.

@modesskiy774 Actually a red cloud makes a lot of sense...If you ever seen "Dawn" or watch the sun go down, or look up some pictures, you will see that the sky covers in red, and the clouds glow in a red and orange light, its pretty awesome. The moon comes in cycles, making it a crescent wouldn't make much sense, its always changing. I 'assume' that when Kishi chose a name for the group, he probably wanted something Unique, and a red cloud really fits.

Originally, Madara forced Yahiko to build the Akatsuki (Yahiko originally planned on naming the group differently and set it up to look for peace. This group is actually established to let "moonlight" in at some point and then it will thicken and reflectit
