@Judybikes the drill mimics actual hurdles while sprinting, but obviously slowed down. his right leg is his lead leg, so therefore it comes over the hurdle straight. his left leg is his trail leg which is supposed to comes more flat over the hurdle
@dealinwithdan1 I asked the same thing but it helps in coordination(form and technique) and strength(in and around your hips) makes sense, you feel me?
@dealinwithdan1 going backwards with it can help you get the trailing leg into the feel of how its going to go over and in back to running position, until the next hurdles. if you didnt catch on to that in the video...

He lifts his right leg straight upward and over the hurdle, but he rotates his hip outward to get the left one over. Which is correct?
