And if Courtney wrote it, she was hanging out during the In Utero recordings sessions because it does sound more like a Nirvana album than Pretty On the Inside or any of those early Hole tracks.

But it doesn't matter. Live Through This is a badass record.

having examined Courtney/Eric's with Patty Melissa and Corgan as well as the songwriting of Kurt and Kurt/Krist/Dave's i have to say i see no real similarity between the two encampments. Courtney's writing is far more gothic and deathrock-influenced, even her choice of chord progressions sounds more in line with Eva O, which i might add Jill Emery was bassist for both Eva's Super Heroines/Shadow Project and Hole. Kurts was far more Twee Pop and proto-metal-influenced than Courtney's.
