  • Oh gee- more Young vs. Montana comparisons. *yawn*

How about appreciating them both and remembering how damned lucky the 49ers were for 20 years?

  • HE WAS OPEN

    :-)

  • Joe Montana should be in the Hall Of Fame for douche bags. He wanted money to attend his own high school reunion.

  • @Jefgg Why would you say that!! Hes the Best!!!

  • @102988094 Montana really wanted an appearance fee to attend his high school reunion. That sounds like a douche bag to me.

  • @s10wcheetah Ha shows how much you know?

  • Young > Montana

  • Montana to Rice to Young

    Think about it.

  • Young to Rice. Young > Montana

  • Montana to Rice. Montana > Young.

  • @LeBronHasBadFootWork this comment made me imagine derek jeter arm wrestling patrick willis lol

  • Two of the greatest quarterbacks to ever play the game. They will always be remembered by the 49er Faithful. Red and Gold for life baby

  • Bottom line to Niner fans it will always be Montana and Lott to the majority of Niner fans as the all time greats. They are Mythic already to the fans that never saw them play. To those who think it was easier then or the system believe me Joe could hit the receivers in stride like a Rolodex watch keeps time. Lott was as feared as Mike Tyson and knew where the play was going like he was on the other team

  • @tellthetruthg I saw'm play. To me however the 49ers are a great legacy who, up to now, have put together 5 super bowls. Every player from Mike Cofer to Joe Montana is a part of that.

  • @ElSharkwalker Add Alex Smith and Vernon Davis to the 49ers legacy.

  • @STP43FAN1 HAHAHAHAHAHA thats a funny Joke!!!

  • I've studied body language for quite some time; Steve's 'smile' is worth a thousand words, not to mention Montana's un-settled quickness to get away from Steve the moment the interview finished... these guys would still love to kick the crap out of eachother right now...

  • @gillianseed I appreciate your take on the video, but what if Joe just wanted to get the interview over regardless that Steve was there? Joe doesn't like the lime light, Steve does. I just want to know how can you tag it as something between Joe and Steve? Besides all of the history between the two?

  • @gillianseed one more point Joe's reaction to Steve's line "he was open" did that seem like someone who wasn't in the moment and liked it no matter who it came from? Body language is telling but I don't think from that video anyone can assume it was because of the tension there was between the 2

  • "Steve what was it that helped you make the transition to QB the 49ers?" Steve: Well, Jerry was open...and Joe was old and injured on the sidelines for almost two years.

  • I love both guys as QB's. I think both are spectacular and truly hope water is under the bridge. Both are great atheletes and HOF's Rice is truly blessed to of worked with two great HOF's, including being a HOF himself.

  • I can't believe my eyes!!

  • awkward...

  • Joe montana was the master, steve young was the student. Young watched montana and studied him for many years, it was the only reason young was ever any good. Some of joe's talent rubbed off on young. Joe Montana is the greatest QB ever!!!

  • @XavierMarciano bullshit. Young became a great QB due to his own abilities. Shows how little you know about football.

  • @joshua81em True but Montana is the greatest QB ever

  • @joshua81em I love both of them, They had different styles each was successful Joe more than Steve but the difference is Joe was the QB on the 1rst SB team so Niner fans will always place him a little higher, and more important to the franchise than anyone ever. Same goes for the other side of the ball Lott as D captain will always be revered as the best of any defensive player the Niners will ever have.

  • @tellthetruthg Problem with the 49ers of the 90's was always the Defense, From 1900-1995 they were the top ranked NFC Offense each year, but they only bought a defense for 1994 no surprise that is the only SB of the 90's

  • @loveofphysics I do know they weren't a solid of a defense in the 90's as the 80's but they were far from the worst. 1 SB for any team in a decade is awesome. In the 90's it was getting harder to keep a whole team together. Defense win Titles that's not cliche it's the truth. Hopefully the Niners are on track to get one in the teens. Teens, that sounds weird huh? It won't be so weird once we hit the 20's lol

  • @loveofphysics 1994-The year That they had Dion

  • @ilovejourney1 and Richard Dent, and Gary Plummer, and Rickey Jackson, and Ken Norton Jr...

  • @loveofphysics They simply were the best team in '94, beating Dallas twice that season. And there were some years in the 1990s where their defense was stellar and the problem was no running game. 1990, 1991, 1995-1997, for example.

  • That smile that steve gives at 0:38 is one of the most forceful "smiles" I've ever seen on television. He obviously was in a very, very awkward situation.

  • Montana seems to be playing the straight man, while Young comes off as the comic sidekick with his comment at 0:55; their "rivalry" has been well-publicized over the years, but after all this time haven't they both achieved enough success to just put it behind them?

  • Joe Montana's thoughts: You told me you weren't going to wear the striped shirt.

  • @merrimac291 Steve Young's thoughts: You told me in 1992 that you were going to retire and leave me the starting job

  • Joe Montana, Steve Young, Jerry Rice. I wonder if that will be the last time all three of them will be in the same spot at the same time.

  • they both look like a divorced couple at their kid's graduation tbh.

  • @KenFan4life That's hilarious...

  • WOW !!!! THE BEST !!!
