The only way to build immunity to germs is to be exposed to them. Things like Pural hand wash, actually make things worse. If you have a 1000 germs on your hands, and you kill 99.9% of them, one is left to reproduce. Most doctors hardy ever prescribe antibiotics for the same reason. Exposure to germs is a normal part of life. Dogs eat poop, how much more are you sick then your dog.. (I'm not saying you should eat poop.)

Actually, the "coming in sick" is kinda moot because you could actually infect someone with your cold for weeks. It's actually at the end of a cold or flu that others are more likely to pick it up, as the virus is looking for a new host that hasn't yet developed antibodies to it. We can't take two weeks off of work (or longer) every time we get a cold!
