this was my favourite track in 1981.i was in the military school then and introduced me to luther/the combination of marcus' bass and free flowing vocals of this great singer left a mark on my musical consciousness.used to play it 4 my first love who is also gone like luther.his style is still unmatched rip great one.thanks 4 keeping it alive on u tube
OMG the drums and bassline at the start of this classic .... Then the music kicks in and Luther... We can't make songs like this anymore... awesome ;-)
It's been awhile and I wonder how Luther would enter such a great intro. He did not disappoint. The lyrics bop rapidly enough to make the avant of the rappers of the time proud.
What a classic track... everytime i hear this track i feel like im flying in a jet plane !! such an uplifting tune no doubt... the old school rules...Yes i said it!! Coming from an old school New Yorker yeah buddy!!!
A legendary genius that expands the world over. He must have received an extra supply of excellence-TALENT. Every word to me says it all and is the best of a romantic's love and essence-the power of love is always musical to me. Really miss you monsieur.
Marcus is great on these old Luther Records. I like his bass tone better on Never to Much and forever for always... than his tone these days, don't know what it is, seems fatter, maybe it's the way they recorded these old records. 24 track 2" old school equipment.. Marcus is a genius and is one of my all time favorite musicians let alone bass player..
dang this album had only 7 songs and went plat. 4 of the 7 songs were great songs. especially never too much and suger and spice. this one is ok. i dont know why people make albums with 20 tracks with one good song.
Shape Belgium Dec 4 1982 i had arrived in a foreign country.i was in the us army and assigned in the medical field. had a roomate who this cut from introducing me to Luther among other artists..his stereo had booming sound and this is one song cranked up had you jumpin up and dancing..u could not sit still and listen the bass when Luther stop singing and give the band a solo..then fade back singing I lovvvvvve...I Lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvee..Man Love it.and that beat..man how I miss the 80s..LoL
Marcus miller is puttin' the hammer down on that bass line. When he and Luther were working it together, the funk was down on the ground and up in your face, all at the same time
Dope drums and bass! When the whole orchestra crowd joins it sounds quite a bit like the nile rodgers-chic-sorta-stuff. but its a good fat blend of disco, funk and soul flavas. luther's singing is incredible anyways.
At that time, as a teenager, I played this cd so much, love(d) his voice, music and this Marcus Miller bass (intro)! Stuff like this You don't hear anymore nowadays..

That Marcus Miller sure left his mark on lots of unforgettable productions.
As well as anyone involved into making this kind of great music.
It's all being discovered again by all kinds of people, that says enough for the qualitiy and feel that was put into these songs from yesterday.
