@superserverdude thanks :) The empty rack is below in this video and the cable management is part of it. As it says in the description, this was before they were put in the rack (it took me a long time to get some decent rails).
@ghelyar Yeah i found that, There are some cheap and nasty rails you can get, but they are cheap and nasty and i found that out to my own expence lol. I got some genuine dell ones now and they are much better. But they are not cheap so i understand what ur saying ;-), But yes you have a nice setup ;-)
@superserverdude Seemed that every set of "universal" rails I got were 26" Antecs and they just didn't fit on anything. The Chenbro RM23212 needed its own special rails too which were a pain to source. Ended up getting them from eshopbrokers which was pretty nice
As for what is running on the servers, theres currently a 16TB NAS in there running FreeBSD 9, ZFS and a LSI SAS 9201-16i HBA with link aggregation, a pfsense firewall and a Debian video encoding server also running MythTV on 4x tuners
@ghelyar the rest is networking going to cat6 ports around the house (through the cavity wall) and a KVM. I'm also using desk fans to cool it, as it gets hot up there in the summer and I can't install an AC, but they work surprisingly well.
@ghelyar WOW, sounds intresting ;-) not the normal use for a load of servers hehe. Yeah i found the same issue with aftermarket rails. So do you have a new video coming of everything in its rack?
this is the most silent home server i ever heard lol
