The main reason why one keeps on asking the decorator what a crumb coat is for in every episode, is not because she doesn't remember her self, but because it's a creative way of bringing it up so the decorator can mention how it's done to the new viewers of the show. It's the same reason why she always asks whether the cake has been chilled and other things like that.

I tried this, but I didn't use the tail because it looked weird. I think it turned out so cute though! Instead of just piping on all the hair, I put a big line of frosting where I wanted the hair to be and pulled it down with a fork. It turned out better than expected!
