Hey Grimmy thanks for sharing your experience at the 99cent store only^_^
& for your other awesome vids!
i always take my time while being there browsing through the isles looking for my amaretto coffee powder ,nestle cocoa ,eccentric goodies ,name brand items ,anything i can get for a good price & the cool thing is there's certain days when out of nowhere they'll have rare cool items its awesome! :)
Wow, thank you for sharing your experience at 99cents only store with us. I used to work for the company from 2001 through 2008. I loved the challenges as an assistant manager there trying to keep the customers happy and the store looking presentable at night. I am honored to be that part of the 99er Team. It was great fun while it lasted.
I can see they are selling out of the top ramen at 3:57 hahaha. Bananas and peanut butter sandwiches are also great fillers when you are waiting for payday.
the one on main st. el cajon caught on fire a while ago. though I think it was called the 98cent store, but it used to be a 99cent store like the one you visited here
There WAS a 98 cent store . It failed because it was awful. It's closed now. As far as what's sold at the 99 cent store. They sell just about everything. I 'believe they buy closeouts and over stocks. But I don't know that for a fact
Oh...yeahhh! Nissin Ramen noodles, 9 for 99 cents, now that's what I'm talking about. :) If they have the Chinese version of the Nissin Ramen at that price in there, I might have to hitch hike my way on over, lol.
The cheapest that I've seen those (the US market version) noodles for is 6 for $1.00.
The Chinese supermarket that I go to occasionally, has them (the Hong Kong market version) for 39 cents each.
I know it sounds expensive for instant noodles but the Chinese version is so much better. I'm hooked on them. The beef, chicken and pork flavors are better than our US market version and then there are those other great flavors we don't even get like, Tonkotsu, Tokyo Shoyu and Sesame oil.
Ah man, now I'm hungry for my Ramen and I'm all out. :( Between you and Happyslip showing Ramen in your vids, I'm going to have to re-supply sometime this week before I resort to making spaghetti in a bowl of chicken broth and pretending it's the real deal. ;)
Ah ha, I knew it! They said I was crazy. They said I was too close to the case to be objective. They said it was unnatural to bathe in a tub full of Ramen...but they were wrong! I had to become one with the noodles in order to discern your plans of World conquest. Now, a few hours more of bathing and I'll know exactly how to stop you two.
woah!! i LOVE that store!! we need some in Illinois!! We have the dollar tree brand of stores, where everything is $1, but the selection is NOTHING compared your 99 cent store, Grimmy!
I did have some concerns about that. But no one took notice of me. It's a pretty big place and the camera is very small. The mic is on the top of the camera. Not the best design. I'll have to trial and error. In the footage I shot in the kitchen you can hear the loud family upstairs. It sounds like they're bowling.
I'm liking the new footage, bro. The new camera gives you so much more freedom. When you are far away from your microphone you may want to see if you can improve your audio in post production. When you are holding your camera the audio is much better. I am really shocked they let you film inside the store. I was almost attacked when I did my lasagna vid in Giant. Great vid.
I love the 99 cent store, wife hates it. The one in El Cajon is waaaay more crowded than that one though. Maybe I should take the trolley out there!

We got $1 dollar stores around here but actually $1.07 after tax. We don't have stuff such as bread, milk and ham in our $1 dollar stores.

When I got her she could sit in the palm of my hand! But she's my baby! I love her very much.
grimmyx 4 years ago
You must be feeding her every hour..she's really huge!!! What's her name?
vivienchan 4 years ago
Luna. I really don't over feed her. I leave her a bowl of dry food and I don't refill it till it's empty. She's just big.
grimmyx 4 years ago
I suppose it's because she's happy. heheh

That's the largest 99 cent store I've ever seen. The food choice is HUGE too.
