The group, Grandmaster Flash & The Furious 5 invented the term Hip Hop & were the 1st rap group inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. Melle Mel (lead rapper & main songwriter) was the 1st in Hio Hop to call himself an "MC". Tho "old school", he is only 8 yearsolder than Jay-Z & 7 years older than LL Cool J.
