Toutatis asteroid close to Earth

This is the real problem on December 21, 2012 people. From around Dec 21 to Dec 26 or 28, it's going to hit or skim the Earth.

@xander7ful Actually it will come closer on 12/12/12 but yeah there will still be pleanty of soiled pants. Good news is it shoulnt come any closer than it already has in 2004, but then again it has an erratic orbit so who knows what'll happen. Weird coencidence tough!

Not a fan of conspiracies and what not, but surely the transit through the asteroid belt would be something to watch out for? As would be the general shape of the asteroid in question, toutatis 4179.

If its got a weak 'neck' section, then could a slight impact with another asteroid when crossing the asteroid belt, not knock it slightly off predicted course?

Has it yet made its return pass through the asteroid belt? And predictions updated?

Toutatis is large, about four miles across. The reason it seems so large is that we are supposedly far closer to it than to earth, giving its massive appeareance.

i dont know if this only happened in mexico, but that day (24 september '04) in the morning, i saw a circle kinda thing in the sky kinda gray color, but it was kinda big, i dunno, maybe it was a planet?
