This kind of music touched my very soul years ago. I would listen to someone play it at night. Its the reason why I struggled to learn the guitar. I played and played until my fingers hurt. @Mr13964 its harmonic minor, natural minor, and spanish phrygian which is the 5 step of the harmonic minor scale.

for this backing track you should play the minor scales on A and the 5 step of A minor which is E.
