With all due respect to Dr. Sen, I find his refusal to comment about Naxalism (citing his lack of expertise as the reason not to comment), to be quite evasive. Naxal violence needs to be condemned and is a serious threat to India and its people, including the tribals whose cause they claim to be standing for. Does Dr. Sen realize that there will no courts to hear a person's plea for justice, if the communists come to power? Aren't there reports about tribals being exploited by powerful Naxals?
@arr729 First of all you shouldnt believe the sensationalist news media, they are all corrupt oppourtunnists that will sell any story. I was born & lived in india and now in Canada where having a world view i can say the indian news is bias and immature. on the naxalites the issue is tribals & villagers not wanted to sell their land and live on the forests these mining companies have paid off politicans to get contract clearance and land clearance without the villagers knowledge.
