  • this song is so nostologic to me, brings back to my LSD days :o)

  • Don't get me wrong this album has some cool songs. But I honestly just can't see how someone could say that this is their favorite album. I mean really? This album over Strange Days? Lol that album is just fucking amazing!

  • @swoovs yes, Strange Days is better, but this album never gets the credit it deserves. Some great songs like The Soft Parade and this one.

  • this song is underrated. great track!

  • i like this song

  • "Sun is shining deep beneath the sea....but not enough for...." :)

  • when i listen to this-every word, every sound pierces itself straight into my soul and i wanna cry and smile.I feel that this is one of the most beautiful tunes...ever

  • @PoMircheva I couldnt agree more

  • hermoso temaa

  • i have a man crush on jim morrison...... not going to lie

  • @Idmaif your not the only one

  • this one reminds me a little of hyacinth house for some reason

  • Personally for me,whatever happened and whatever inspired The Doors to create each song, and whatever story-exciting,inspirational or not-stands behind the tracks-they are all good, and not just good but great, mainly beacause Jim has always sung with such feeling.I mean you can feel that, the music is also amazing. It's normal that the first tracks are less "scared" by critics. That happens with every artist. But maybe even only from a emotional view,to me all the Doors songs are beautiful, great.peace

  • I need help finding the dislike bar.

  • Makes me feel California in the early 70's.

  • this is great also check out my channel

  • I hated the movie "The Doors." I don't think the surviving Doors liked it either.

  • I love this album. Who can figure out critics. I think they feel they have to denigrate everything they hear. Otherwise they can't be critics. At least in their minds anyway. I think they think too much and don't really pay attention to the music.

  • Irregardless of who the actual Composer of this song is, it shows the influence of The Beatles Sargeant Peppers ablum. The fact that Jim Morrison and The Door "Chose This Sargeant Peppers Style" to record in (not their usual style for sure!) illustrates this point. No amount of obfuscation or deflection will change this fact. LOL! ;>D

  • @ThBigEZsCadillacJack Of course! There's no denying in the influence they had, however, I was just pointing that out because Morrison didn't want to be associated with some of the songs Krieger wrote for this album (hence the individual credits). Anyway, I agree, all this is irrelevant, the song is amazing!!!

  • @Pems33 Never knew Jim felt that way. just because writing credits were aknowledged doesnt mean Jim didnt like Robbies lyrics.

  • @icabodcranium True, it was not with all of the lyrics. As far as I know, it was mainly with "Tell all the people get your guns", but it could be with some other lyrics as well.

  • wheat

  • This album was a real turning point. Before this, their sound was psychedelic and after, more blues influenced.

  • ドアーズ、ソフト・パレードより"WIshful Sinful"~ロビー・クリューガーのメロディアスでキャッチャーな佳曲~モリソンの抑え気味ヴォーカルも逆に味わいが!

  • My favorite song form this album

  • I too loved The Doors. That said, there can be no denying that on this song the Influence "The Beatles" had on all the other artists at that time with Sergeant Peppers Lonely Hearts Club Band with it's Ochestral Compositions... They also feature prominently in this Wishful, Sinful composition by Jim Morrison & The Doors. The arrangement is quite lovely, and Jim's voice lends itself just as well to this Melodic Orchestra Sound as it does on The Rock Ballad of the 1960's "Light My Fire." Thanxxx J

  • @ThBigEZsCadillacJack Actually, this song was written by Krieger, not Morrison

  • great album...critics don"t no shit..talent is always dragged down by others who sit on there asses.

  • wishful sinful wicked you , water covers you

  • They're best album and it sounded like they had fun recording it

  • @iAmAnonymoose L.A. Woman is awesome.

    I just absolutley love TSP.

But now really thinking I'd say Morrison Hotel was the worst Morrison album.

  • Perhaps their proggiest album...

  • don't think the doors had any bad albums. judging their classic albums isn't even relevant today.

  • Voices parade upon the steps behind the structure that once was and spews forth the effervescence of power with its majestic form, as grace and poise drip slowly from the grace of angels set before me to guide the path of tomorrow.

  • this song always makes me feel better whenever i feel like shit..... <3 :)

  • From 1964-1970, the U.S. airwaves played many British bands. The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Pink Floyd, Led Zepplin, the Who, and Cream. The Doors were the ONLY BAND from the U.S.A. that could stand toe-to-toe with them!

  • @SirReal1958 Hendrix?

  • @SirReal1958 And Hendrix had to go over there to make it. Lets not forget that none of them could stand toe to toe with his guitar playing and they've all admitted it. Grand Funk? There are more if you really think about it, but yes Bitish dominated

  • @SirReal1958 the doors standing toe-to-toe with cream? more like standing on the toes of cream.

  • @SirReal1958 I feel what you're saying but what about CCR and Steppenwolf? They were better than a few of those bands you listed. I am English so I'm not being bias, America had quite a few good bands at the time although I will admit that the UK produced more.

  • @SirReal1958 yeah but there where also alot of bands from san francisco that were playing the airwaves back then and getting just as much recognition. just check out the montery pop festival where they were discovered.jefferson airplane, janis joplin jimi hendrix, canned heat...etc.

  • @SirReal1958

nah there was dylan and hendrix many more

  • @SirReal1958 Yeah, but The Beatles were shite. They just ripped off The Searchers.

  • The music arrangement reminds me of the water level on Mario Bros.

  • According to Rolling Stone, this is the worst Doors album followed by Waiting for the Sun. Noooooo.... L.A. Woman and Other Voices are.

  • @RnSTutorials I meant L.A. Woman and Full Circle -.-

  • one of the greatest musical masterpieces of all time and i mean it

  • 1:30 sounds familiar like it was used in a rap song or something?

  • Une de ses plus belles finales

  • agradable tema del momento

  • pezzo spendido.

  • 1 sad soul :(

  • If you want to see a funny video where the doors make a cameo check out "alcohol it's bad" on youtube.

  • all time greatest band <3

  • Why the critics dissed this album is beyond my comprehenion. This album has been a favourite Doors album of mine since I was a kid.

  • @TheKhaibear I always thought it was everyone's favorite! What a sad world we live in...

  • @dandaily4 To the fans it's no doubt our favourite. The critics dissed it but who cares. We know it's brilliant and the music has stood the test of time otherwise you and I would not be listening to it. And yes, it is a sad world. Take care.

  • @TheKhaibear Well said and very true. You too.

  • @TheKhaibear Hands down my fav doors album

  • @TheKhaibear Agreed, this is where its at.

  • @TheKhaibear I have no idea either! My friend Taylor and I love this album! I listen to this collectively more than any other Doors album.

  • @KurtAngleFan44 You and Taylor have good taste my friend.

  • @TheKhaibear

its because mankind thinks in terms.......what jim was against......the first two albums left a mark,,,and everyone exoected them to follow this one......they already dismissed waiting for the sun......which in my opinion was worse than this one.......hello i love you was the worst track they ever did....

  • @huntAblunt I agree that Waiting For the Sun was, as a complete album, worst than the beautiful Soft Parade

  • @Rhiabbaco It's true.. I don't know if this is the best the doors ever did, but it shouldn't have been dismiss as mere pop folly or hyper commercialism... I think you can draw the line from a number of albums from this era.. from Sgt. Pepper to Forever Changes to Blonde on Blonde.. each is it's own take on the commercial L.A. sound. This album is dark and yet resplendent in the pop touches of those critical years of 1968 to 1971..

  • @TheKhaibear it is true.!!!!!! i love it as well

  • @TheKhaibear i've had to warm up to it, but i'm liking it more and more.

  • I like all the instruments on the Soft parade album, one of may favorites!

  • Masterpiece!Heaven!

  • Krieger is quite a good guitarist.

  • @GmanGregilla I remember watcing a documentary on the Doors and Jim was saying how under-rated he thought Robbie was. some would say that he was partial, but not me! I am more and more impressed w/ him the more I hear his playing.

  • @generationaluv Ya, me too, man. Agreed to a fair extent! The aspects of which I've particularly noted of Kreiger's ability on guitar is that, firstly, I learned recently enough that he, typically, doesn't use a pick at all; secondly, that his style is immensely unique, influenced by a broad array of broad styles, and, thirdly, that he is, likely, among the very top of complimentary type lead/rhythm-hybrid guitarists in rock (in a particularly formidable keyboard-guitar tag-team-tandem).

  • @GmanGregilla ...yeah that combo makes for a myriad of sounds that all work to create a story, even if we can't describe the story we are being told...we just feel like we are being taken to another place. I don't see that much anymore and the Doors nailed it! thank God! man the 60's & early 70's really did shine in every genre!

  • @generationaluv Ya, I kinda missed out on those decades, in terms of lifespan, but they have long seemed far more cool than some of the ones more of late (though, apparently, rather considerably chaotic at several junctures/on several occasions). Cool aspects in the more recent decades, for sure, though. But, will classic rock/classic prog-rock, per se, ever return to modern shine and lustre?

  • i wonder who arranged the strings and orchestra...anyone?

  • @albyroblejo Ray manzarek he programed his keyboard

  • one of the greatest songs of all time. beautiful and brilliant.

  • actually, the Lizard King was also known to be fond of popping black beauties, getting drunk, then peeing in empty glasses.

    Just saying.

For a different perspective, I urge fans to read Rolling Stone magazine's original review of this album, where they absolutely trashed it.

The Doors were pushed in the direction of using strings and horns by their managers, mostly because the Beatles, Byrds, and Love had already done so.

  • @witchman67 While I love the song I do recall reading Jim didn't care for it or the album due to the reasons you mention, re; being pushed into putting out a commerical product. I probably did read the RS review and truly this album was not highly rated and tho the song was a hit it was considered 'pop-ish.' BUT, time changes perspective, WS is a pop masterpiece.

  • @witchman67

That's is the opinion of Rolling Stone. I don't think Jim's personal live or his stage life has anything to do with this album being good or not. I like it, even if Jimi pissed over it, so to say ;)

  • you are all stupid with the whole drug thing who gives a fuck and jim morrison smoked pot and drank for the most part alcohol is the strongest drug he did

  • @Strongwhite88 Yep, until pam got him to do some bad china coke that killed him (At least Thats what I think happened) The speculations are all over the map with that one...

  • @rowanmcklain No that is not what happened. Jim accidently insufulated heroine that he bought for Pam, mistaking it for cocaine that he bought for himself, inside the Rock n' Roll Circus night club bathroom. Think of that scene in the movie Pulp Fiction were Erick Stolzs' character has to give Uma Thurmans' character a shot of aderenline to revive her. That is what should have been done for JIm, and maybe he would still be here today.

  • Overall a great song but not one of the bands better ones. I like the song but it just is not a 'Doors' song to me.

  • another god singer that went for drugs...thats the 60's. all great though

  • @cooldudebailey you mean another drug user that became a singing god? like all the others?

  • @panflutelistener yah that lol i used my words wrong

  • @panflutelistener but they were one of the first one's to use drugs to expand their minds to tap into their music and poetry. big difference there.

  • @mrwhitedog420 haven't all musicians done this since the beginning of opium, peyote, hemp?..

  • @mrwhitedog420 maybe you're referring to them laying it out in people's faces instead of keeping it a taboo like chuck berry / elvis presley.

  • Enzerio amo esto : D

  • The Soft Parade is epic, but, unfortunately, very underrated.

  • @goundenter agreed...........this is right when morrison started goin overboard with the drinkin and shit....and rothchild was startin to get disgusted wit him in the studio.....great album though....amazing

  • And to think people hated this album

  • If there is an afterlife, this will be playing as I make the transition from this world to the next.

  • Who is the Justin Bieber fan that did't like this?

  • wait to you hear this song while tripping you can only imagine the crystal water blue covering you

  • @akparker1 Fucking christ, you're right. HOORAY FOR NATURAL MIND TRIPS! :)

  • jim makes sin sound like a good thing in this song.

  • hey mike4asianwoman, what a coincidence! I was just on a You Tube Lawrence Welk song site and on one of HIS songs, there was one negative vote as well and the comment was, what? we have 1 Doors fan that does not like this? show him to the curb!!! (no profanity of course) Small world, heh?

  • 2:48 i cum with that bass chord

  • Αριστουργημα...

  • This song was written by Robert Krieger

  • @R480jyjy imho some of the better songs lyrically are not written by Jim. He was a little too far out, and unless you are stoned or on hallucinogens ,they lose so much of that mystical effect.

  • @katrastrophy I love Jim, but Robby Krieger's contributions often get overlooked. Wishful Sinful is one of the best songs ever.

  • @nightliter wow ,thank god I opened up this comment without being foul mouthed-lol. Glad you say that in more ways than one:) I agree, cheers.

  • @nightliter

    I completely agree.

Robby was superb, with his riffs always done tastefully and memorably.

    A very overlooked guitarist indeed.

  • One of my favorite songs from my favorite album by one of my favorite bands. Good sound quality too

  • love to hear you cryin' ,yeah

  • what?do we have 1 lawrence welk fan that does not like this?fuck him

  • Everytime i listen to the doors, i get cold chills and a sense of comfort.

  • I love the way they use a symphony of strings to enhance this beautiful song. Morrison had no formal voice training and yet this song demonstrates he had one of the best voices in rock history. His voice was sultry and soulful and the fact that he was a tremendous poet catapulted him and the Doors into legendary status. Peace.

  • @makingsense53 He was also one of the true bass-baritones in rock, with wonderful natural resonance, at a time when everyone it seems was either screaming falsetto or singing in the tenor-high baritone range (think McCartney, Clapton, Bowie...)

  • @Sharoney I also liked Jim's singing, too :)! In fact, I was a BIG fan of his in The Doors' heyday!

  • @countrysinger1952 did you ever see him live???

  • @womenrsmarter420 No, I never did :(! I wish I could have, though. The nearest big city to where I live is Birmingham and The Doors never did come to Birmingham.

  • @countrysinger1952 cool was just wondering i wasnt born till 74 but wow the impact he has on society is astounding 40 yrs later still ahead of the times actually a completely diff level he the doors were...

  • @womenrsmarter420 That is so true :)!

  • great piece of music. its better than ice cream

  • @MrSchmuchface I agree,it's a great song. Better than some good ice cream though? Mabye...

  • Absolutely beautiful track. That is all :)

  • love the fact that there are 0 dislikes, so please keep it like tHat :)

  • Sheer Beauty This song...

  • one of Robbie Krieger's songs :)

  • honestly. the best band america has ever produced. as far as experimentation and roots of everything. both lyric and instrument. in sync. like wind.

  • this song makes me want to listen to "Witchita Lineman" by Glen Campbell. Something about the orchestration.....

  • Memories...

  • One of the best doors songs.....

  • the doors, the best band ever <3

  • @DeJusAnn Yes, yes they are... :)

  • i love this song so much<3

  • @moeismyfriend me too so cooling
