  • Oh, thank god! One of the very few front flip tutorials made by someone who CAN actually do some good front flips. :)

    How can i overcome the fear of trying to flip?

    When i run up and jump i am scared to flip my hands down how can i overcome the fear of that? Even in a judo gym,there is 1 big matrass over all the gym and its not the softest matress but its a bit soft,you cant feel much pain when you land on your back,but the scary part is i have a fear of trying to flip after running up.

    but is it possible to land on ur head

  • @UltraGamingVids You can land on your head on rare occasions if you really don't do it properly, but even then you'll only sprain your back (which'll go away after about a week).

    But to overcome your fear just keep doing fronts onto the crash mat in your gym (or whatever it is), even if you land on your bed this should help you alot and eventually with natural progression you'll swing your arms down.

    I recommend you just get used to actually flipping first though.

  • @JustinDosntCare You have more power to jump with if you have bigger legs. Also, you are already further from the ground. It's pretty much the same unless you have weird body proportions.

  • i landed a diving front flip in a little ball on the end of both feet...all my momentem came down on me...i fuuuuuuuuuucked my foot

  • @bcartergo Throw your arms straight up (arms should be up after you do the small jump before the flip, also known as blocking) and around to tuck.

    Throwing your arms up while jumping should make you jump higher.

    for the little hop before the front flip? I use my right foot but i think what ever way feels more comfortable. I'm not really sure if there is a specific way to tell which foot but hope that helped!

  • @5674trackrunner This frontflip variation can be used as the beginning of a tumbling routine so do it so that you can continue with a roundoff.

    Normally when i see people not getting enough tuck it's because they open there arms after they start the rotation or they try to bring their knees to there chest. So i would try to make sure when you throw your arms around, bring your chest to your knees and try to grab your shins.

    well the gym is normally the best play to practice new things but i think grass is just fine too! that's where i first started learning them.
