  • Thanks for all these tutorials! saved me a whole lot of money and it looks great too :)

  • Thanks man i need this for my skyrom costume

  • Do you have a recommended way to get so many pieces of newspaper?

  • @SirMinecrafter1999 Just ask your neighbors for old newpaper. Should get plenty.

  • Awesome jobs on the tutorials espespecially the shield ... Do u know any substitute to the wire

    Thanks Danny

  • @epicfantasy

I'm making the helmet, body, and armguards for my history finals. I'm done with everything but the armguards. I'm having a problem because the template is too small. Is there any way to get a bigger print out of it, without resizing the one on your website?

    Thanks,

    Muserae

  • @Muserae grats on all the hard work. ANd good luck with your history finals. I don't have any resizes of the templates but typically you can set that in your printer settings. Say print to 120%?

  • @epicfantasy it wont fit on my arm the template is to small

  • @Bl4ckinferno178 Make a bigger template! Don't let an obstacle stop you!

  • @epicfantasy i just made my own template and it turned out great! thanks for all these tutorials!

  • @epicfantasy Printing it larger worked. The whole thing turned out great and I ended up getting 100%. Thanks for the tutorial!

  • @Muserae how i made mine is i mesured with a ruler then mesured in on to a paper to make it fit me

  • @epicfantasy the worst part is using the super glue.It stinks, it sticks on your clothes and where ever it goes and it I had to hold the wire on the glue until it sets.Did you glue the wires in one day?

  • @300spartanswin I forget, But I know that a hot glue gun would be great for this. You have to be careful and patient with the super glue.

  • @epicfantasy ok!Thanks. I thought I had to actually use super glue because it was one of the materials and you didn't mention that I could actually use a hot glue gun.

  • paper mache inside or dont need to?

  • @satio98 don't need to. Better if you don't put the paper mache inside.

  • @epicfantasy thanks a lot!!!

  • make a vid with it all tryed on please its epic

  • @xxxredearedsliderxxx Sorry, I gave most of the stuff away!

  • @epicfantasy thank i messed it up

  • you should make samurai helmet :D

  • Can you make a tutorial for a vambrace in assassincreed brotherhood

the main vambrace on the left arm

  • Hi. I made a hidden blade with a rail and I was thinking of using your vambrace to hold it on my forearm. Would it work fall apart or what. Please help

  • @dboy69395 I am not sure about this. Paper mache might not be able to hold together under the stress of a hidden blade on a rail.

  • @epicfantasy cheers xD

  • Another versatile adhesive for this type of costume building is hot glue (aka "glue gun"). It's fairly strong, bonds many types of materials, and sets up quick. I recommend the better quality high temp guns, vs the cheap little dollar store low temp guns.

Also, after painting the gold, a good trick is to use a wash of black latex or acrylic paint that you immediately wipe almost completely off. It leaves bits-o-black in the nooks & crannies, giving a nice weathered texture look.

    Nice vids!!

  • @rmcdaniel423 Thanks! These are some excellent tips!

  • and if i mix glue with water would it work???

  • @666rotthol probably yes

  • @epicfantasy thanks :D

  • could you use the vambrace for the hidden lade you made I m doing it now

  • @dudeirfan23 Yes definitely. Sounds like you are having fun!

  • Use shin gards as templates

  • Dude, for some reason whenever i print your template it comes out small, it looks like it would only fit a 5-year old when i roll it up =( Please reply back with an answer.

  • @DialgaDude123 I will take a look at the template but you have to watch the settings on your printer. Do you have it set to print at 100%?

  • @epicfantasy oh okay, ill try that, thanks.

  • @epicfantasy My Printers settings are at 100% and the size for its 8.50 x 11.0.. Did you by anychance use a different template? or this same exact one?

  • y would i want to make 300 arm guards if i only have two arms???

  • @XxL3oM3SSiixX Make em for you and your 149 fellow warriors!

  • @epicfantasy thats true lol

  • so basically you cut the tape later or do you leave it there and just slide your hand in??

  • @steelwarrior917 I cut it and leave it cut so I can slide my hand in. It looks ok, the paper mache gives it a nice springy action that closes it back to original shape on your arm.

  • Hello; your tutorial is very interesting and very well explained. I have a question; I'd like to do a Batman gauntlets, I hope that following this tutorial I would be able to do it, but what should I add or change from what you did here? Greetings from Mexico City!

  • could u use tis with the assessins creed hidern blade

  • @roxis2013 you can but isn't his arm braces are leather? But if you wanna save some cash, I reccomend using craft foams and then paint them the color you want(ofcourse, sealed them first before painting them).

  • Hey, I have a question. What can I use as a replacement for the cereal boxes? Thanks and your tutorials are awesome! Gonna use them for another costume though.

  • @wanteddawg You can use something called index paper, its a card stock. Can buy it in stacks like printer paper.

  • @epicfantasy Oh, ok. Thanks for answering. Do I need to masking tape it like the armour one which uses the poster board? Thanks.

  • Can you use the thing that you use to make casts you know when you break your leg (don't know the word, english is my second language) instead of the paper maché? I think it would be stronger, although probably harder to obtain if you don't know anyone who works at a hospital

  • @thormodur1 Yes, you most definitely can. It will work great. They sell it in hobby shops called plaster cloth.

  • question, i hope you'll answer it. How durable is it? Can it break easily if hit by an object?

  • @Saikejo It isn't durable enough for combat

  • so cool!!! i will make it tomorrow!!!!!

  • @foongnerf123 Nice! Good luck and have fun.

  • It from the film "300" numbnuts

  • why do you need 300 of them? aint two enough? xD

  • How long would you say the paper mache would dry if I did this is the morning?? By night?

  • You made 300 of those?!?! DAAAAAAMMMMMMMNNN!!!!! :o

  • 0:00

  • your template is kinda small...

  • @MasterChief2992 hmmm. I will check it. Did you print it at 100% size?. Sometimes it prints a little small. not sure why.

  • The vambrace template what's made of? cardboard, normal paper?

  • @Adriawow91 You print up the vambrace template on paper then glue stick it or glue it down to thin cardboard. Cereal box cardboard works really well for this because it is strong enough for the paper mache yet nice and flexible.

  • can you make a vid showing how to make the glove part of a gauntlet?

  • I used this to make Spartan braclets from Halo. I also used the chest plate to make a Spartan armor.

  • bad quality

  • How do you get your vambraces to be perfect cylinder like shapes. When i roll mine it makes a bunch of creases and it ends up looking like a long cube shape because of the bends in the cardboard

  • is the wire optional?

  • @Jafar453 yes. The vambraces, once dried, will stay on without the wiring

  • its awesome but the title said you would teach us how to make 300 of them XD

  • @TheMit2 lol! Going to take me a while to make 300 of them. After 1,000 origami cranes not sure I want to make 300 spartan vambraces :) !

  • @epicfantasy btw i just finished makeing the helmet. i am waiting for it to dry now

    ps your tutorials are awsome!

  • @epicfantasy the y should be 600 of them XD

  • could you use Velcro to fasten it instead of just sliding your hand in there?

  • thanks man im try to make knight wuen will u do body armor

  • this guy RULES

  • the sizing may not be spot on but oh well, live and learn.

  • been paper macheing all day to make some. dont have any regular glue tho only a glue gun, so i may leave the paper off the outside and not sure if ill do the wore the same...

  • damn, i have no printer D:

  • how did you know what shape you need for the pattern?

  • i cut some paper and tried it on my forearms. Then kept adjusting it, trying new sizes until it fit well.

  • @epicfantasy doesn't paper mache make things shrink slightly as it drys though??

  • What if some of us have big forearms lol...

  • very nice

  • Hey, I made one based on a pringles tube thingy, Just a few cuts and paper mache and I had a real good looking and tough armguard thingy's, Love it

  • HA! i made mine from ducttape a few rubber bands and spray paint. and it only takes at least an hour b4 you can wear it. subscribe to me and ill put up a tutorial

  • Comment removed

  • I love this paper marche ideas, I would love to make this for my husband or for a Cleopatra outfit, only smaller. 5 stars.

  • I love all your outfit ideas, It's actually making me interested in using the techniques you show in all your other projects to make myself some paper-mache fantasy armor. ^_^

Have you thought about trying to make projects like this for us girls? If you did, that would be 100% awesome.

  • @librainred girls dont exist on the internet sorry

  • I request if u do another one, do the leg braces.

I've been trying to work out an in expensive way to finish my predator armor and that'd be a big help. I made a cardboard wristblade gauntlet, but nw I'm considering coating it with paper mache like you did.

  • Oh you don't know how I've needed this, thank you SO MUCH.

I'm going to make modify mine a bit and paint them silver/black.

  • the spartan sword would be awesome ... btw could you do the vambraces from Assassins Creed with the hidden blades (mite need a couple of springs to get the blades working) lol

megm: what do you mean by chest piece do you mean teh breat plate?? In the 300 movie they didnt wear breastplates , just the spartan pin brooch for their capes

  • awesomme job, can u make a spartan sword too?

  • awesome man i think you should do the shield next

  • the shield makes it complete

  • probably. you will make the whole spartan suite.

  • Yup, I will definitely make the whole spartan set of armor. Either the shield or the chestplate is next.

  • make the chest piece first pls

  • You are making really cool vids, keep up the good work!

  • Thanks! Plenty more vids coming.

  • Breastplate will be great ;)

  • Sure would! Lot of work though. Maybe the shield next, not sure.
