I've shot a huge hole right through the heart of a deer with my 300 Win Mag at 20 yards away and the thing STILL ran 20 yards before it dropped. You just need to make sure you put another one in them quickly so they will expire asap and won't lie there wounded for any unnecessary time. I made the same shot on a buck this year 20 plus feet in the air and almost right under me I severed the spine and into his vitals....dropped. Good human shot there!! I've found the best shot with my rifle is about two inches below where the neck and shoulders meet. Severe the spine there and they're dead before they hit the ground, no convulsing or spazing, just drop dead.

Hunting seasons exist to manage peak population, health of the animals and to prevent overpopulation and then starvation. There are many reasons this does exist. it is not for everyone so don't watch the videos and for the hunterslike myself maybe we can be more discreet on videos. There is a common ground for bith sides. Wildlife management is a must in order to keep deer and other wildlife around in a healthy state for other generations to enjoy wether hunting, viewing , taking pictures etc...

This is a hard track. Gut shot deer rarely bleed externally! Yes there is an entrance and exit wound, but the intestines and stomach often close them up. Besides, the gut area offers very few arteries and blood vessels to bleed.

Blood loss is minimal and slow and will almost always be internal. These reasons are why one should wait a minimum of 8 hours before attempting to track a gut shot deer.

That was very fast! An instant kill is always a goal, but nearly impossible unless you get a complete brain shot. If you are trying for a head shot you will usually miss or just injure as it is a small kill zone. Not good to shoot an animals face off only for it to run away and suffer for days. Nobody in their right mind wants to injure an animal. This was a great kill shot, hard to get any faster
When something dies it doesn't always just drop and lay down all peacefully. I work in a butcher shop and know from experience that even a head shot (instant kill) still makes the animal fall and twitch like crazy. It's because all the nerves in the body are firing off in shock. All animals do it, its nature. There was no torture to this kill it was an instant kill

"Hunters for hungry" program is a convenience. Without the pantries what would the DNR do with the milliions of slaughtered deer? 'Majority of 'hunters' do not eat them because of mad deer disease . I made the same shot on a buck this year 20 plus feet in the air and almost right under me I severed the spine and into his vitals....dropped. Good human shot there!! The kooks say nothing when the deer run off and die 40 yards off camera but start preaching (rambling) when he drops in his tracks and is dead 20 seconds later. Your cause sucks...get a life and do something (anything) constructive with your time.

I've found the best shot with my rifle is about two inches below where the neck and shoulders meet. Severe the spine there and they're dead before they hit the ground, no convulsing or spazing, just drop dead.

Hunting seasons exist to manage peak population, health of the animals and to prevent overpopulation and then starvation. There are many reasons this does exist. it is not for everyone so don't watch the videos and for the hunterslike myself maybe we can be more discreet on videos. There is a common ground for bith sides. Wildlife management is a must in order to keep deer and other wildlife around in a healthy state for other generations to enjoy wether hunting, viewing , taking pictures etc...

You are quite ignorant or the facts of terminal aspects of bullets and deer. It does not matter if the blood comes out or stays inside. The fact that it is no longer in the circulatory system, this is what causes death. The blood is no longer taking oxygen from the lungs and having the heart pump oxygen rich blood throughout it's body. As soon as there is not enough oxygen to the brain, then the animal loses consciousness.

It is a good thing and with the economy failing, you might find yourself begging a hunter for a bite of his deer steak. Food does not automatically come from the grocery store. Harvesting of animals and vegetation must happen.

The reason humans have k9 teeth on out upper and lower jaw is so we can eat meat. Our eyes are forward facing like most land based predators. Why? Because we are naturaly omnivors meaning we are designed to be able to catch and eat animals among other things. Hunting is natural, we are designed and evolved for it. It isnt fair of you to judge others for their lifestyle because what they are doing isnt right or wrong (my opinion) it is just a choice made that happens between all species on earth. That was very fast! An instant kill is always a goal, but nearly impossible unless you get a complete brain shot. If you are trying for a head shot you will usually miss or just injure as it is a small kill zone. Not good to shoot an animals face off only for it to run away and suffer for days. Nobody in their right mind wants to injure an animal. This was a great kill shot, hard to get any faster

When something dies it doesn't always just drop and lay down all peacefully. I work in a butcher shop and know from experience that even a head shot (instant kill) still makes the animal fall and twitch like crazy. It's because all the nerves in the body are firing off in shock. All animals do it, its nature. There was no torture to this kill it was an instant kill
