@blakedannen -- thanks! I always thought great work should be studied and interpreted, not replicated like a forged painting. I'm sure if I did another version of this tune a year from now it would sound completely different with emphasis on different themes/emotions and sounds.

Ashcroft really did a great job writing this tune - that's where its raw power comes from. The several layers of guitar tracks that Nick McCabe put down are slick as f**k. It's some of the most unheralded and unconventional 'flika flika' guitaring of my generation..... give the original another listen....
