My favorite "Here's Lucy" episode was when icon Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton did a guest spot...when Lucy put on Elizabeth's million dollar ring and couldn't get it off....hilarious!!
LUCILLE BALL WILL NEVER BE FORGOTTEN, SHE WAS A LEGEND AND HER LEGACY WILL CONTINUE FOREVER!!!! AND I'M SURE IN SAYING THAT "WE ALL LOVED LUCY, AND CONTINUE TO LOVE LUCY"
Slightly off topic, but the official unedited first season of "The Lucy Show" on DVD has FINALLY been announced. Do a search for LucyScroll, or go to this Youtube link for details: watch?v=4-ySG2nZvGk
It's hard to believe they are all gone--Lucy, Desi, Vivian, Bill Frawley, Gale Gordon, Mary Jane Croft, ect.---their type of comedy can never be recreated. Lucy and her gang must be having a ball up in heaven making everybody laugh. Lucy, I can't believe you've been gone 20 years. Thank God we have you in our memories, in reruns, and mostly, in our hearts!
When she died at age 77, the comment was often made that her death was "untimely" and that she was taken away too soon. Our consolation has been the legacy of performances she left for us. Therefore in my opinion she never really died, but lives on and on. She is the ultimate rerun- and we never grow weary of seeing her. That is what makes her so unique.
so the very end, with the video of her walking forward and smiling...it gave me the best chills of my life. it made me think that she was happy. anyone know where they pulled that scene from?
Even Bob Hope might have said:If I knew I was going to live for a 100 years og age I would have taken better care of myself.:-))They never be replaced. Thanks!!
What a staple of my tv-watching days she was. Who else has the ability to make someone laugh for the 100th time watching the same scene from their comedy series?
Pick any sitcom today. You might laugh uproariously the first time you see it, chuckle the second, smile the third.
Yet I STILL laugh out loud at her classic scenes, even though I'd grown up watching them over and over again.
I know EXACTLY what you mean. I've been watching I LOVE LUCY for over 40 years. I was watching I LOVE LUCY just this morning, laughing out loud as usual, and at an episode I must have seen a thousand times at least.
She was a treasure!!!!
