As always a great vid. I know it might be boring for you to show this stuff, but for us beginners it is like gold, so keep it up !! And, MERRY CHRISTMAS !
Just wanted to say thanks for posting! I'm expecting one of these under the Christmas tree, and once I catch on to using it I hope to be able to do a lot more shooting. Especially like seeing the Makarov, that's been my carry gun for the past 10 years, except mine is a double stack.
hey i have a little question, im about to buy one of this but im a total noob about all of this, i want to reload some 30/06, 300 winmag, and 7mm ultra mag, and my question is about the dies, do they have to be LEE? or they can be of any other brand?
@arkraven I'm going to go out on a limb and guess you already know the answer but no you don't need to use lee dies any 7/8 X 14 die will work, I would recommend them however. You just cant beat the value of their die set, I have a .223 set that is getting close to 2K rounds through it and still works just fine. Just remember case lube is critical for sizing rifle brass, use a loading block that exposes as much of the brass as possible if you are using a spray type lube.
Hey, this is a question for anyone who happens to know: Does the lee 3 die pistol set (45acp if it matters) include a bullet seating die that also crimps, or does that require a 4th die? I see 3 die sets and 4 die sets and I'm not sure if I need to buy the 4th one. I've been reloading rifle cartridges up until now and crimping isn't something I've done.
You my good sir, are awesome! This video was absolutely more than helpful and I appreciate it. Im researching a little more before reloading my first batch. I would like to ask you some questions, may I email you?
Thanks for all this information. I just ordered this exact kit online and expect it next week, and I'll refer back to these videos if I need any help with setup/use. I thought it was especially neat that you used 9x19 trimmed to be used as 9x18. I would not have thought of that! Could one conceivably use .380 ACP bullets (or ones marketed as such) to stand in as well? That could make reloading for 9x18 easier still, with even more availability of components.
Im not new to reloading, but for anyone I know who wants to learn, I'll point them to this series. You hit every point from beginning to end, and you even shot the reloads!
Could one trim 9mm x 19 down to 17mm for use in a .380 pistol? As when I pick up my brass at the range sometimes you get the shooters brass that is from their 9mm pistol.
I wasn't 100% sure I wanted to start reloading untill I watched these videos. Now I know this is something I want to invest in. Keep up the great work Sir.
Dude, You are living the life! Anyone who can load and not just load but cast the bullets, then go out side your house and fire um. That is the good life. I am new to loading but, I need to wait till Saturday or Sunday to test them out at the range. Hey Thank you! I learned a great deal from these videos.
An exceptionally good video - thanks for posting! You didn't use the powder measure included w/ the kit; was that because you already had the one you used or do you like the one you used better? Also, I'm interested in this kit & would use it mostly for hand gun ammo, but would like to reload some .45-70 Govt too, but probably less than 200/yr. What are your thoughts on using this press for something that big? Again, nicely done video - thanks
Excellent video! I am new to reloading and got this kit for Christmas.Along with the factory instructions, setup and it's use were pretty easy. Thank you!
I bought this kit to reload 30-06. I have two problems: 1 I can't zero the scale. 2 the two rounds I've made so far won't feed in my Remington 700 chamber. I've even trimmed the casings to the specs on the reloading guide I bought. Any ideas?
@fordboy899 Depends on the calibre and quality of the brass. Typically i don't go past 10, and before reloading inspect the casings, especially around the neck for cracks, warping etc.
Thanks for making these videos. I ordered this kit a few days ago and the guy at the range said I should have it by monday. Never done my own reloads. It looks a little intimidating but everyone I've talked to said it really isn't that hard. And with how much I've been shooting I'm going broke buying ammo! Looking forward to learning this skill.
i just ordered this kit, the 9mm 3-die set, the Lee reloading manual and the franklin arsenal calipers, literally just hours before seeing this video! haha. i'm glad to know i was on the same exact page. EXCELLENT videos!
I need to thank you for making these videos. I learned a ton from watching. Lee should offer your videos with their press kits. I realized a number of mistakes I made prior to watching your videos. Thanks again!

I liked the videos and was wondering if you would do one on casting your own lead bullets. I like detail and am a newbie to this . Very interesting how everthing is done in sequence. Was considering a higher end press but am now thinking i'd rather go with this one for the hands on experience.
I am looking forward to see what you have in mind for the Lee kit! I noticed you have an RCBS scale that by most accounts will outperform the Lee scale. When a person reloads they use a variety of equipment. If it works we use it. Nice video series on the Sks with you and Rugersix. He introduced me to your channel, which is great by the way.
I got to say you have a great kit! I use Lee products all the time. I reload calibers that range from .223 all the way up to .500 smith and wesson using Lee dies and presses. I will say that other makes of dies and equipment come across my bench quite often. I always come back to Lee equipment for the value and quality that they put out. They may not be geared towards a benchrest shooter. But Lee makes a good product for all types of shooters to enjoy!!!!!!!!
Thank you for this series of videos. I was in a toss-up between this kit and the Turret Press kit, but now I can see that the 50th Anniversary kit is all I will need to start reloading .30-06 for my Garand. I am sure I will re-visit these videos again for reference. Thanks a lot!
I first got interested in reloading from your videos, and last month I went out and got this kit. I started reloading for my Mosin, and now I can just get shell holder and dies for any other caliber that I may want to start reloading. Its a lot of fun, knowing that you are shooting rounds that you made yourself!
I bought this kit a few months ago and loaded my first bullets last weekend. I spent most of the weekend figuring out how to correctly perform the various steps. I'm reloading 25-06 rifle cartridges, which is a little different from what you show here.

I did want to ask you. I'm using the Lee resizer but, when I put it on the drill motor I tend to throw cases while I'm trying to trim them. I finally broke the case holder and had to order another one. Any suggestions?
@gruelin1 Well, when I can load any kind of pistol ammo I want for around $4.00 per 50, I really don't discriminate in terms of caliber choice...They all cost the same to load.

@WUNDENFLAMME Once you get a good system down for doing it, you can load about 100 rounds an hour on this press. From brass prep, to setup and everything, I could probably load about 200 rounds in a couple of hours on this press.
