And while, yes, all those things worked, they have been improved upon to make engines more efficient at making power. In other words, from the factory it could have been built to be faster.

@AxonHilock A cam is not the heart of an engine. You just cant stick a high lift cam in a car with stock heads. You could the same amount of power out of a stock cam and heads as a huge cam and stock heads.... Its all about the combination. While I definitely feel the ZR1 and Z06 sound better, Uber-Exotics are more along the lines of Formula 1 cars hence the whine to the exhaust note. They also rev as high as 11,000 RPM's. This video was taken at MTI or what used to be MTI. Love the Borla XR1 muffler. I had one on my 96 Z28 from 2000 till 2004 and still think it's the best sounding muffler I've ever heard on an LTx/LSx.

The video is mis-titled. I made the video years ago of my buddies car. At that time he had SLP Loudmouth exhaust if I recall correctly. My car, parked to left of G's car at 0:35s had a Borla XR-1 straight pipe and sounded nothing like this.
This sound is really from the headers and cam, the stock cam and manifolds really alter the sound.

The exhaust tone itself will be pretty much the same, but the overall sound will be different because this one has pretty aggressive cams.
And yes, it's a C5 Z06.

exactly dude...all eurotrash supercars have such sophistocated suspension and everything, its all done to the max so there is no room for improvement. now take the gm equivilant of a maxed out supercar; ie. throw a smaller sc'er pully on the zr1 plus get rid of its LEAF SPRINGS (if they used them like on the z06), etc. there will be no possibility for european car makers to make a better performance car PERIOD! lol. case in point: stock viper=nightmare pile of shit on the track, viper acr=#1

Muscle cars are pretty sweet but why compare to "uber exotics"? They are a totally different league and have a different kind of sound. They don't have the throaty sound of a Vette but you can't tell me a Gallardo or a Carrera GT don't sound badass. Respect for both though

It does sound awesome but be honest,have you ever listened how a ferrari with a kreissieg or even a tubi exhaust sounds like?I know it`s a lot more expensive and not much faster in a straight line but the sound is much more refined(because sound was the issue).
