This is a fantastic video and you're a fantastic rider bkwhip. I'm looking to get a 600cc bike while I'm stationed here at Hill AFB and hope to be on this track before my tour is finished. I would love to get on that track and go to Bonneville.
@bkwhip Well, when the time comes to actually get a bike, I don't know anyone personally who owns one also. Do you live near Layton, Ogden, or SLC? Or do you know of a group of riders who aren't about street racing and stupid stuff like that in that area?
@nspinicelli - I live in Idaho, but am down at Miller at least once a month between April and October. Lots of cool folks out there at our race weekends or Apex trackdays that would be very happy to help you out. Some of them can be found on the Utahsba.com forum (and some squids, too).
@bkwhip Cool, I never even knew that forum existed. Thanks! I've added it to my favorites and I'am sure it'll be invaluable once I actually get a bike.
Great riders. Great video and music. I saw in your oder video how you ride on CBR 1000rr. With bike is beter, faster? CBR or 1098s? What is the diference? Best regards. Konrad from Poland (1098)
Thanks Konrad. The 1098 is the best twin, and a brilliant bike. The Honda is also quite incredible, especially for the money. The Ducati is beautiful, exotic. The Honda is really easy to go fast on, and less expensive to buy and maintain. I love them both for different reasons.
125 gp is the starting point excuse my bad english i am from romania and i raced 125sp 125gp 250gp 600 and 1000superbike class get a 125 for the start ;)
I got a question for you. I've got a fz1 litre so I can ride a litre bike. But I want to get into track riding and I'm man enough to admit that I probably should get a 600 to start riding real turns with. But I would love to get a GP250 but I have no idea where to find one of those. I hear amazing things about those bikes. Any info would be appreciated.
One of the most recommended bikes for getting started on track riding is a Suzuki SV650. They're inexpensive, parts are readily available, and give you lots of speed and cornering capability, without so much that it puts you at more risk. The 600 sportbikes are also great, but a little less forgiving.
Thanks. The sv650s was my first bike I owned and loved it. The only problem I had with it was the front suspension I thought was crap. If I'm wrong please tell me but that thing was like a pogo stick and suspension is the most important part of track riding right? I've heard of GSXR fork switchs with it.
With this track, Miller Motorsports Park, it comes in several configuratinons, Full track=4.5 miles, Outer Loop=3 miles, east loop=2 miles, and West loop=2 miles. BWhip is riding the Full track, 4.5 mile configuration. This track config is FREAKIN' EPIC!!!
This vid is still one of the best of the full track. I was there labor day weekend 08! I finally did a best 3:18. Down from 3:36 from a year ago. I was #256 red/black Gixx1K in A group all 3 days. And Turpin still blasted my doors wide open! That dude RULEZ!!
I just saw you race today at miller motorsports park and You did a Great job out there man. that 749r of yours is kick ass dude. You, Turpin and Clark were deffinitely the most enjoyable to watch. Great job out there.
Thanks! That's one of the nicest compliments I've ever received. To even be mentioned in the same sentence as Turpin and Clark is quite an honor, and I appreciate it.
Very awesome vid and awesome riding! I'm hoping to get down to Miller this summer to do my first track day as it's currently the closest track to me and it looks outstanding.
Real nice lines Bwhip! Good job! I'm fairly a new rider and see your tall yourself. I stand about 6'1 and feel like i really "crowd" the tank since the stock pegs are so far to the front. Will getting rearsets and adjusting them farther back (hence adjusting my posture further back on the seat) help me assume a more natural "racing" position?
Rearsets definitely help give you more options. You'll also want to make sure, especially through the corners, that you keep your feet well back on the pegs so your toes don't drag.
Awesome vid!! I was there. In fact!! you guys blew past me during my warmup lap. That's me @ 1:37. The red/black 06 Gixxer. Who is this band? A Perfect Circle? Great riding you guys. Huge props and 5 stars!
Awesome video and that music overlay rocks!! Big kudos to the cameraman too cos he must have been working overtime to keep you in shot AND keep up with you. Its tempted me to get a video done of me riding on my next trackday.

I still watch this video all the time. I hate it. It makes me want to buy a bike. Darn you and your cool riding music videos with ducatis.
vampov 2 years ago
Man I watch this video way to much. Do you have one with the sound of the Ducati instead of the music? Man that would get me going. Vroom vroom.

Is it something better like this? :-)))
