Dentists are thieves indeed. A report here in Canada had one guy go to several Dentists. There was no consistency whatsoever. Treatment ranged from a few hundred dollars to nearly $20,000 on teeth that were perfectly healthy. Many Dentists were willing o pull out or root canal perfectly healthy teeth. A similar report in the US was done by readers digest.

Had over 10 root canals done on my teeth 15 years ago and now finding out I have many incomplete root canal done. So now the teeth are decayed under the porcelain crown. Over $30,000 dollars out of my pocket and not counting the PAIN I dealt with and now what to do ? Hmmmm

watch out for dentists who use formaldehyde in root canals. Its a material commonly known as "Sargenti Paste" and it contains formaldehyde as its active ingredient and also lead and mercury. FDA rejected, not recommended by ADA, state dental boards will discipline over the use, and dentists will get sued. ask your dentist and no matter how they try to justify it, don't let them.

actually in dental school I did use paperclips to temporize teeth. you temporarily place a post (ie section of a paperclip) if you need one in order to get something to hold onto. this only happens when someone comes in on emergency and you are struggling to get them a tooth in a short amount of time but i did in in school. you replace it later with a full post. yeah you sterilize them so it's not a big deal.

the pain that this guy is having is likely from a failed root canal. they do fail. there are no guarantees. the body responds how it will. not all knee replacements take, etc. it's not like a paperclip DID the root canal. it just is a rod to help hold the filling in. no he shouldn't have used it as a permanent but that's not the reason he's going to jail. it's the drug, battery stuff is the real reason people just hear about paperclips and see a good story.
