I wish she would step off the dancefloor for a while! The thing with her was that you never knew what to expect next... But ever since 2000 she never left the dancefloor. It's DANCE all the time! A shame. I hope she will re-invent herself BIGTIME soon....

American Life is from 2003 and it is NOT a dsnce album at all.

It is a very deep and political electro-folk album. And just because it has an electro sound, it doesn't mean it's dance. Half of the album is slow-tempo and the others are not quite dance records.

A great album and I think it was underrated. One of her best.

i disagree, i think it's her worst album so far then comes Music Album, the rest are fabulous but her BEST are the 80s and the 90s till bedtime stories.

This was actually recorded during her work with Orbit for the "Music" album. Everyone mistakes this demo for the 97 "Ray of Light" sessions.

Check your facts, this demo is NOT from the 1997 Ray of Light sessions. It was registered in 2000 when Madonna was working on the Music album.  Research...I am correct:)

This is too rigid! Despite the ticking clock, Frida was able to be a bit more liberal with the timings. Not to mention more liberal emotionally. But Orbit (if it's he) has done nice job with backing.

Correction: This ABBA cover was recorded with Willian Orbit in 2000 during the early recording sessions for the MUSIC album, NOT RAY OF LIGHT. Before Madonna roped Mirwais for the record, she layed down quite a bit of material with Orbit, though only "Amazing" made the final cut. This demo represents the pre-Mirwais direction of the MUSIC album.
