its way easier to create your pizza on the peel, also your cannot cook fresh basil, it turns black...you need to add that after the pizza is cooked...

If you can't find basil try spinach. It tastes different from basil, ofcourse, but it works. And it looks quite similar. And a pizza with spinach looks and tastes better than one with cheese and tomato sauce alone..............
Did you ever get a dough video made? I can't seem to get mine to turn out right. I would love to see this video. Thanks a bunch we all appreciate your work!
what kinds of dough was that again? I make pizza a lot like min. 8 a week and I've developed my own dough recipie but that looked nice would appriciate anny info! thanks
I think that the oven floor was a bit overheated... There should be no smoke coming from underneath the pizza when you put it in... If the oven floor gets overheated, throw some salt in the oven... It helps.
Fashion yourself a long handled fork to rupture any bubbles that begin to over take your pizza.
With your sauce use a medium ladle to place sauce in the center of your dough using the bottom of the ladle spiral out to spreading the sauce using the slghtest pressure of your ladle you are spiraling the sauce creating a wave that is sort of slung outward until you reach desired application. Then bump the table a couple times to cause the highs to level off.
I love the wood fired oven... I'm working with a charcoal grill that's been very hard to get up past 650, so it's not quite as good, but I'm working on it.
Mighty fine looking pizza you made there; it looks gorgeous from here. I like your thermometer. The last oven I was considering building, had built in thermocouples, and would require a digital multi-meter to read. (I have those, but wondered how accurate they would be). You got it going on big time. Thanks!
Thanks for all the tips with the pizza and the bread recipes. Just finished my oven and I am full flight cooking pizza's, breads (not the two day version yet) and roasts. Cheers Darrell

Yes, it is made of the same materials as the Casa2G -- it is smaller and a little thinner, and insulated the same way.

a damp small pillow or canvas will help clearing debries from the oven floor before you cook your first bread on it.

Try putting the olive oil before the sause.
Mostlyfun 2 years ago
I'm curious, what's the advantage?
safetysquirrel 2 years ago
It keeps the sause from soaking into the crust . It makes the crust more crispy
Mostlyfun 2 years ago
I think that amount of char is perfect.
But people's preferences differ.
Thanks for the vid and making me starving!
