@MrJcmental None. On this model it wasn't wired in the first place. But we just wanted to show how to replace both stats as on most models both stats are actually wired.
i don't have the same dryer you have but i replaced the element and both thermostats and when i gave it a test run i could smell it burning lint that had settled on the coils, so i know it was working. but as soon as i put some clothes in to dry, they were still wet after one cycle.
@CKS5000 You can override the thermostats FOR TESTING PURPOSES ONLY, for a short period of time, like under a minute.
The thermostat works like a fuse, if you think it is faulty you can override it (hotwire) - but it is there to keep your house from burning down, Overriding a safety feature as a permanent solution is a bad bad BAD habit.
@Serostern yeah, get a zip tie torque wrench. oh, don't forget about the "real" screwdriver. and never, I mean never use a box cutter to cut a zip tie. I'd hate to have you touch anything of mine. I bet your one of those guy's that stand over a guy slobbering on his shoulder. if your so damn smart why are you watching this video. DUMMY!!!
@huzzler631 No, forget the ziptie torque wrench. The entire point of the ziptie is to tidy up wires and keep them from rubbing against metal parts. If you pull too tight you damage the wires and that is the opposite of the purpose of the damn tie.
Mind you I am one of the field workers, and that is why I take pride in leaving a good machine behind me after I finish a job.
Also, I would hate having you touch anything of mine, it would most likely end up broken.
@Serostern Damn, there go my feelings again getting hurt. "also" if I worked on anything of yours I'd just overcharge you. you seem like the type that would be easily taken advantage of. LOL!!
@huzzler631 As for the reason I watch this video - because even if I know my way around appliances I could still learn a trick here or a new way of doing something there.
A power driver will keep spinning after the bit slips, before you have the reaction time to stop. This strips screws.
He also uses the wrong bit (a PZ2 for a PH2 screw) - wich makes the bit slip and damage the screw.
If he used a manual driver he would not slip as much.
cheers for posting the video,my wife has been bugging me to pieces to fix our dryer, when i opened it up i hadnt got a clue what i was looking at ,now i have ,tnx again

Can you please tell me what the point of replacing the "Green" spot stat was if your not going to wire it up?

Aww dam mate, you just stripped the fuck out of those screws!
Get a real screwdriver instead.
Never cut a ziptie with a razor knife since you very easily damage the wires. Sidecutters work fine.
You also pulled too hard on the ziptie you replaced. They aren't load bearing, and shouldnt be pulled too tight since that can damage wiring.

@CKS5000 You might have blown the thermostats by burning a bit of dust.

@Serostern so if i changed the thermostats again it might be all good now.
