@iiiset Yes, On November 28, 1979 an Air New Zealand DC-10 flew into Antarctica's Mount Erebus killing all 257 on board. It was a flightseeing flight similar to this one. It originated from Auckland. Qantas & Croydon travel resumed flightseeing flights back in 1994 after a 15 years absence. Since that time they have flown 87 flights over Antarctica without incident.
Flightseeing is my favorite thing to do while on vacation. And to be able to do it in the comfort of the first class cabin of a Qantas 747 was something I couldn't pass up. I went back to Antarctica two years later to see it from ground level. It was beautiful both times. I plan to go back yet again. But the Swiss Alps are on my list too.
@princette i dont think that he is saying to visit the swiss alps because of the distance, he is saying to visit them rather than Antarctica because you could actually vacation there while having a beautiful view.
i wanna go there too, i wanna make my snowman... that would be great! antarctica = fantastic! :)

What if you arrive late at the airport and get an aisle seat?

"ladies and gentleman we are now flying over Antarctica which is rapidly melting due to C02 emissions of which airplanes are a major contributor".
No doubt some of your homes will one day be underwater.
"Thank you for flying with Qantas Airlines".

do they fill all seats or just those adjacent to windows for this flight?
sky30394 2 years ago
They sell all the seats, middle seats costing much less than the others.

On Pushback from the gate, did they show you the Qantas 747-400 Safety Demonstration Video?
Polynesian576 2 years ago
they would have, it's standard procedure. No plane is allowed to leave without showing the saftey demonstration.
