the shot at 4:48 could be made to be a lot better if you photoshopped (clone tool ) the shadow of the guy holding the flash on a pole out of the image, from just to the right of the upper neck / head of the guitar!
@nglstudios its cause the contrast between the shadow and the bright sun on the stone is so much greater than the contrast anywhere else in the image, thats wht its the first thing that catches your eye I think IMHO.
What are you using to trigger your flashes? Is that a pocket wizard? also what are the soft boxes called? I want those they look awesome! I notice you got the shadow of the hair light guy in the background. Great shoot great video, you make me want shoot outdoors!!! Now if it would just stop raining. Your infor will be much appreciated. Thank again!
thanx for the nice comments. the triggers are Elinchrom Skyports....very small. and the boxes ate Lastolite EZ Boxes....both ar available thru any Bogen or Manfrotto dealer. great and depenable gear.....don
thanx for the nice comment. The larger diffusers are the Lastolite EZ Boxes...thru Bogen Imaging.....the smaller ones are from LumiQuest.....thanx.....don
Who cares about the lights and photographs - where'd you get that killer jacket? It mus hold all your photo gear & keep you warm in the winter desert. WOW!!
I have to tell you guys, the photo you took of me with Mt Whitney in the background is just the best. The lighting, exposure, framing, quickness you did this shoot in the shade, and how precisely you took this photo is just magical. Everyone says the photo looks surreal. You can only really see the real detail in the actual print. Youtube does not do justice for this photo. Right now, that large print hangs proudly in my living room.
No, I'm using Metz 58's....they do the same thing as the 800's. I keep the flash power set on Manual, so the repeatability is consistent......the TTL stuff sometimes bounces all over the place.....don
What a waste of time

very useful outdoor videos, thanks.
I was thinking: what kind of poles do you use to hand-hold the ezyboxes with flashes on? I used a monopod but your's look a lot lighter and compact.

Hi Dongale, thanks for sharing this video, very good stuff indeed. I was wondering what diffuser are you using for your flashes?
Talking about flashes, nice choice the AF-58. I've got a couple of AF-48 and couldn't be happier. Thanks.
