We should use what we have to win wars and save the lives of our soldiers period. To many people who know nothing of real combat take away valuable military tools and get our soldiers killed.Knob creek machine gun shoot happens twice a year.
I have no problems with miniguns. But I do have a problem with flamethrowers. Yes they're cool, yes they are effective BUT they are more a weapon of torture then combat. If you like such weapons then try experiencing that kind of pain.
Think before you speak, would you like surplus flamethrowers in the hands of your enemies? Because any weapon used by military forces will someday end up in the hands of rebels.
I support RESPONSIBLE use of military. Not pointless wars or stupid military action
they deedent ban the gatling from war they are using it a lot on humvees ( warwagons) and blackhawks the flamethrower is used in colombia to destroy drug fields maybe allso against humans
Flamethrowers have been removed from active service, the last war they were used in was the Vietnam war I believe and even then, it was mainly for bunker clearance.
Gats are still in widespread use on a variety of vehicles, they were never banned from wars. As a note, they aren't gatling guns, they're miniguns nowadays.

Flamethrowers are risky, one shot in the tank and the whole thing bursts, whats more effective is maybe creating napalm grenades, much harder to hit, and easier to use.
wrong, very rarely did pressurised tanks ever ignite when hit and even if they did the flames would one fly out from the puncture hole like a blowtorch, NOT a firely explosion like some movies would like you to believe.

Back in WWII, a flame thrower was the only way to silence pill boxes protecting beaches - not even ship to ground artillery could crack some of those, and they didn't have fancy bunker buster bombs or laser guided missles. It was just you, a backpack full of napalm, and (hopefully) enough cover fire from your team to get you close enough to light the box up.

So is the machine gun in a pill box mowing down your friends... the flame thrower was brought to the front lines to clear out those hardened installations.
