@EastHunter2009 "I would of gotten charged for murder that day, after he grabbed that girl he'd of been dead"
Or much more likely, you would have gotten pounded out by the police, taken to the emergency room, and then transported to the county jail on numerous charges, most notably, aggravated assault on a law enforcement officer and interference with law enforcement. The end result: Officer Williams makes tons of overtime off of your case and you end up with a felony record.
@EastHunter2009 "it's not the arresting... it was him grabbing that girl the way he did."
Officer Williams had probable cause to arrest Casey. When he attempted to do this, Casey began to flee from him. When you can figure out how a police officer can arrest a suspect who's running away without having to put his hands on the suspect, be sure to let me know. That would be a hell of a trick.
dumbass sitting handcuffed, has the right to get up,an walk away. the officer made the mistake an leaving him there. 1. handcuffes can be in front, just slip them down past the butt. 2. a paperclip, will open them.

@skatedistrict238 I see that you are a skater who uses logic and common sense. I feel bad that many of your fellow skaters give the law abiding skaters like yourself such a bad rap.
@AndroidBattleTrooper we are all entittled to our own actions and opinions! if they want to be dunbasses then let them. like many skaters i smoke weed, but im still responsible with it! same goes for skate boarding, it may be illegal but im still responsible with it!
@skatedistrict238 "we are all entittled to our own actions and opinions"
You are entitled to your opinions, but you are not entitled to your actions if they are illegal or harmful to others. No one has a right to violate the law.
Skaters being "dunbasses" usually results in property damage and pedestrians on the sidewalk being forced out into the street. Skaters being "dunbasses" become everyone elses' problem. This is exactly why laws were put into place to restrict skateboarding in certain areas.
@AndroidBattleTrooper i understand but thats not my point. im sayin that the can choose to be dumbasses by mouthing off to security guards or even police officers. Its only their job, and i bet if they were off duty they wouldnt give a shit about what you do.
@skatedistrict238 "like many skaters i smoke weed, but im still responsible with it!"
Hmmmm. . . . . . perhaps I'll have to amend my previous assessment of you, but at least you're honest about it. LOL. Here's my question to you: If you're caught smoking weed and arrested for it, are you going to blame the police?
@redarmy126 "Did anyone hear the police officers read them their rights cause they could of been let go just on that alone"
You should stop watching so much TV. The police are not required to issue prisoners their Miranda Rights unless they are going to ask the prisoner questions which would cause the prisoner to implicate himself in a crime. Since Officer Williams knew exactly what offenses the skaters committed, there was no reason for him to question them.
Only for the time being. Skylar was later located at his residence and arrested. Skylar later pled no contest to his charges in court and was sentenced to pay fines and perform community service. :D
@AndroidBattleTrooper that's bull, those skateboarders didn't do anything wrong. They only resisted cause they were originally arrested for skateboarding, which is a lame excuse for arresting some teens
@bbshock21 "They only resisted cause they were originally arrested for skateboarding"
See, now you're admitting that the skaters actually DID do something wrong. Resisting arrest is a crime in the state of Arkansas.
"which is a lame excuse for arresting some teens"
Regardless of how a person may feel about the underlying law that they violated, you simply can not resist the police when they are attempting to place you under arrest for the violation. Period.
I'm not familiar with Arkansas law but weren't these kids minors ? What sort of charges and punishment can be assigned to minors in Arkansas ? Usually, for more serious offenses, kids are just sent home. Is there something wrong here ?
Stupid copper should just have told the kids to go skateboard where it's legal, then let it go. He mushroomed it into a serious problem. He should have been reprimanded for manhandling that young girl.
@richtxn47 "should just have told the kids to go skateboard where it's legal"
He did. The skaters refused to listen.
"He mushroomed it into a serious problem"
Actually, the skaters "mushroomed" things by resisting arrest and unlawfully fleeing. And all for an ordinance violation that would have resulted in them being issued a citation at most.
"He should have been reprimanded for manhandling that young girl."
Casey was resisting arrest. The force was justified.
The cop got cleared of all charges cause THE FUCKIN FAGGOT ASS DEPARTMENT COVERS THERE OWN AND THEY KEEP THESE DUMB FUCKS WHO THINK THEY'RE ABOVE LAW AND BIG AND BAD AND THINK THEY CAN BRUTALIZE CHILDREN. YOU'RE WRONG PIG FUCKERS! ONE DAY YOU'LL BE KILLED ON DUTY IN A SHOOT OUT AND NO ONE WILL FUCKING CARE!!!!!! WE WILL ALL LAUGH! BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
@311Egar wtf do you think to yourself?! that cop is a psychopath and the law is not lawful, it's obscene. civil disobedience is a must. spraying people for skating, my god... it takes an american to justify such insanity.
Could you post a time stamp when this occurred? I've watched this video countless times and haven't been able to find one person who was pepper sprayed for skating.
Being that the HSPD officials publicly stated their findings of the internal investigation, it would be impossible for them to have covered for Officer Williams. If they said Officer Williams acted with departmental protocols, then he did. There would be no advantage in lying about this since departmental use of force procedures are clearly stated and could easily be obtained by an attorney for the opposition.
Let it be known that the Police are an illegal establishment in the US and it's existence in the USA violates the Constitution. They should be abolished and replaced with what the Constitution instructed: A citizen militia that was meant to safeguard the citizens.
Abolish the Police and the Supreme Court which too has violated the constitution. Ron Paul 2012! End the Fed and pro-small-government.
This fucks me off I got a fine for riding my skate board in the uk not the us in the uk I know ridiculous they just pulled over got out and restrained my board fuck my friends where nearly put in prison same with me these cops are assholes that focus on the small and not on the big.
This cop is unbelievable!!! These kids probably received all kinds of charges because of this cops incompetence.
On a good note, at least these kids get an understanding at an early age, that we're living in a police state. They're future movers for the Free State Project.
Look I'm against this this is my opinion and there is nothing against it ok the cop was grumpy and obviously didn't like skaters,so all of a sudden it's the law to ride a skateboard " no you can't do that" well I disagree
Actually, it's an established fact that it is a violation of city ordinance to ride a skateboard, bicycle, or rollerblades on the sidewalks in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The skaters knew this as well. This is why the skaters pled guilty or no contest to their charges in court.
I don't know if anyone ever explained this to you, but the police don't make the laws. They simply enforce them.
Laws were violated. The police arrested the violators. That's your textbook definition of law enforcement.
"that's police brutality."
In order for you to prove that it's police brutality, you would have to show that Officer Williams violated the Hot Springs Police Department's use of force procedures. This matter was fully investigated and it was determined that Officer Williams did NOT violate these procedures when he arrested the skaters.
@wsouth1988 nobody cares if your views change or not. Your not important. What is important is that people follow the laws. The girl didn't, she tried to run, and she got what she deserved
@AnthonyCordova3 wsouth1988 isn't going to change his views because he's a cop hating bigot who could care less about learning the facts. The skaters edited this video in an attempt to make Officer Williams look bad, but the irony is, the video clearly records most of the skaters criminal activities. The skaters eventually realized this. That's why they all pled guilty or no contest to the charges against them in court.
how much you wanna bett that the cop was the most insecure and tooled on kid back when he was in school now he grew up to be a total dickhead of a cop to kids that are just skateboarding, its not like they were destroying any property or anything sheeshh.
@yzs4life "its not like they were destroying any property or anything"
No, they were just forcing the pedestrians to have to move out into the street or jump out of the way. Skating ordinances are put in place to protect the pedestrians and also business property. These thugs chose to willfully violate this ordinance even after they were given a warning by the same officer. They brought this on themselves. Speculating about Officer Williams' childhood isn't going to change that fact.
@AndroidBattleTrooper so the skaters and bikers and rollerbladers dont matter to the city their just supposed to jump in front of cars? that was a wide ass sidewalk with not many people on it no pedestrian even has to move the skaters just go around them. why the fuck would that city discourage recreational activities I think its fucking bullshit, basically making it illegal to exercise FUCK THAT CITY AND FUCK THE POLICE
@governordyrssen "so the skaters and bikers and rollerbladers dont matter to the city"
There are plenty of places in Hot Springs that skaters, bikers, and bladers can legally partake in their activities. The sidewalk is not one of these places.
"FUCK THAT CITY AND FUCK THE POLICE"
And this is exactly why people see you skaters as punks. You guys are responsible for your own bad reputations. It's like you want to be seen as thugs, but then whine when people call you out for it.
i usually don't like police but this guy had a point(and i personally hate skater fags), your skateboarding were you shouldn't he told you to stop and you kept going so he had to use force thats his job. i can't see how a "good" cop could have acted differently, he told you in the beginning to stop
@Theethruth "i can't see how a "good" cop could have acted differently, he told you in the beginning to stop"
Which was more than fair on Officer Williams' part. These punks were locals. They knew it was illegal to skate there in the first place. No matter what action Officer Williams would have taken, these cop hating bigots would have found a reason to blame him. To rational and intelligent people like us, however, the facts speak for themselves.
@XMODZ1234 "if this was me i wear a 8000 dollar insulin pump for diabetes"
So even though you have a debilitating and incurable illness for which you have to basically wear a lifeline to control, you would still knowingly partake in illegal physical activity that not only could cause you to get hurt but also arrested, and all so you could file a lawsuit?
What do these kids not understand? I see loads of pedestrians on foot in this vid that they have the potential to hurt with their out of control flipping around. Injury to pedestrians is exactly why what they are doing is against the law!!! My daughter was hurt by kids just like this; all she was doing is walking on the sidewalk, not the side skate!!!
The side walk is right next to the road, where there are 3,000 lb. vehicles driving along. I honestly don't think that the 13 year old riding a piece of wood is the one you have to worry about.
@wsouth1988 "I honestly don't think that the 13 year old riding a piece of wood is the one you have to worry about."
You should tell that to the family of Mary Ann Slettehaugh. She was an elderly woman who was struck and killed by a teenager who was skating in a prohibited area in Capitola, California.
Ok, but look at how many pedestrians get killed every year by vehicles compared to how many get killed by skateboarding accident. This cop was unprofessional and way out of line for such a minor offense. He grabbed a teenage girl around the neck and attempted to take her down as if she were a grown man... I honestly think this cop is the one you have to worry about. If you don't agree with me then you can go fuck yourself because you aren't going to change my views on it.
@wsouth1988 "but look at how many pedestrians get killed every year by vehicles compared to how many get killed by skateboarding accident"
That's an inapplicable analogy unless you plan on introducing evidence that these vehicles are deliberately jumping the curb and mowing down pedestrians on the sidewalk. In this video, the pedestrians are where they were supposed to be, the skaters are not.
@wsouth1988 "and way out of line for such a minor offense"
I didn't realize that Resisting Arrest, Fleeing, Interference With Law Enforcement, and Battery were minor offenses. These are the offenses that various skaters were charged with committing that day. None of the skaters contested their charges in court.
@AndroidBattleTrooper Resisting arrest is the same thing as fleeing cops just want to be assholes and get you in more trouble, I fail to see how talking is interfereing with law inforcement, and the only one who commited battery was the fucking cop
@governordyrssen "Resisting arrest is the same thing as fleeing"
No, they are not the same in the state of Arkansas. That is why Officer Williams made the distinction between the two charges. But regardless of that, both are illegal in the state of Arkansas, so you have no valid argument here.
@governordyrssen "cops just want to be assholes and get you in more trouble"
The skaters got themselves in more trouble by choosing to flee and resist arrest. Officer Williams is not responsible for the skaters choosing to violate the law.
@governordyrssen "I fail to see how talking is interfereing with law inforcement"
The "talking" as you refer to is not what constituted the Interference charge for Brindley. Since you apparently played this video with your eyes closed, I'll explain exactly why Brindley was charged with Interference. At 2:01, Officer Williams is attempting to place Casey under arrest, although Casey now begins to resist. At 2:06, Brindley walks very close to Officer Williams and begins to shout
@governordyrssen at Williams as Williams is struggling with Casey. Because Brindley's presence constituted a potential threat to Officer Williams' safety, the other officer (who is trying to take McCormack into custody as well) grabs a hold of Brindley and pushes him towards Williams. Williams now has to contend with two persons struggling against him. Because of this, Casey was able to escape from Officer Williams, although she was apprehended later. You can not interfere with the police
@governordyrssen while they are engaged in the course of their duties. Not only is that common sense, but it's also the law. Had Brindley allowed Officer Williams to arrest Casey, he would have only been charged with violating the skating ordinance instead of at least four other offenses. Brindley was an idiot. And you're an idiot for not being able to see this.
@governordyrssen "and the only one who commited battery was the fucking cop"
Battery means that you injured a person as a result of your illegal actions. Since Officer Williams' actions were entirely legal, the charge of Battery does not apply to him. Also, none of the skaters were injured as a result of Officer Williams' legal actions. If they had been injured, it would be their own fault anyway. When you resist arrest, flee, or otherwise become combative with the police, you are
@governordyrssen taking the chance that you might be injured. I don't know if anyone ever explained this to you in your 36 years of life before, but the police are allowed to use force on a combative, resistant, or fleeing suspect.
The only person who sustained an injury in this event was a 67 year old community services officer. He was injured by the oldest skater, Matt McCormack (age 21), when McCormack struck him with his elbow. McCormack later pled no contest to the charge of Battery
@AndroidBattleTrooper stfu dumb fuck hes ridng a skateboard...the cop shudnt have beeen so aggressive from the start then there would have been no violence
Which is illegal on the sidewalks in Hot Springs, Arkansas.
"the cop shudnt have beeen so aggressive from the start"
If you would have taken the time to do the research before running your mouth, you would know that Officer Williams initially gave the skaters a warning. They could have left at that point without so much as a citation. The skaters refused to obey, so Officer Williams took action. It's the skaters' fault entirely.
@AndroidBattleTrooper stfu you cop loving bitch they just shudnt make skating illegal its not a fucking crime...especially on the damm sidewalk..thats just stupid nd he arrested them after they stopped too like the one who was filming he didnt do anything after nd then arrested them too...fuck...the...police mad cuz they too fat to skate nd they think they have so much power
It's a good thing Officer Williams didn't have your temper; the skaters in this video surely would have ended up in the hospital.
"they just shudnt make skating illegal"
It's only illegal in certain areas. Part of being an adult is being able to accept the fact that there are certain rules that we have to follow even though we may disagree with them. It's sad that, at the tender age of 24, you're still not ready for adulthood.
@MrSkullkid49 "thats just stupid nd he arrested them after they stopped too"
We obviously weren't watching the same video. Only one skater (red shirt) obeyed Officer Williams' lawful orders. The other skaters either unlawfully fled, resisted arrest, or interfered with Officer Williams as he was lawfully engaging in the course of his duties. You can deny it all you want, but the video doesn't lie. Again, sorry if the facts upset you.
@MrSkullkid49 "and they think they have so much power"
I have news for you: The police DO have power over you if you choose to break the law. It's a fact of life that most 6 year olds understand. Unfortunately, it seems that no one ever bothered to teach you this simple fact in your formative years.
@AndroidBattleTrooper stfu dumbfuck they may have power but not enough power to be choking someone and throwing someone like they did in this video..nd stop quoting me u dumb shit
@MrSkullkid49 "they may have power but not enough power to be choking someone and throwing someone like they did in this video"
Evidently, Officer Williams DOES have the power to use the force that he did since it was determined that he acted within the HSPD's use of force guidelines.
@MrSkullkid49 "evidently u have no life doing so much research on this"
LOL. The research took me only a half hour. You've been on this channel for the past day and couldn't be bothered to Google just one thing about this incident before running your mouth. You're content to make comments about this video without learning the facts. That's what a troll does.
@KorruptBmx "they are allowed to CHOKE a person, and THROW them, because of disorderly conduct?"
That's not what happened. The skaters were subjected to lawful physical force because they resisted arrest or attempted to unlawfully flee from Officer Williams. You would know this if you would have watched the video with your eyes open and done some research on this incident instead of allowing your emotions to control you.
@MrSkullkid49 "then there would have been no violence"
The skaters were the only violent people that day. They physically interfered with Officer Williams while he was attempting to effect lawful arrests, and the oldest skater, Matt McCormack (age 21), injured a 67 year old community services officer. When you get physical with the police, they are going to use force against you. Fact of life.
@wsouth1988 "He grabbed a teenage girl around the neck and attempted to take her down as if she were a grown man"
When you resist arrest, that's what happens. Casey didn't care about the consequences when she previously interfered with Officer Williams' lawful arrest. This was something that wasn't shown in the video, but it was later reported by witnesses. I will try and find you the link to this article, unless, of course, you don't want to be confused with the facts.

@skatedistrict238 "we are all entittled to our own actions and opinions"

AndroidBattleTrooper 1 week ago
@skatedistrict238 "if they want to be dunbasses then let them"
Skaters being "dunbasses" usually results in property damage and pedestrians on the sidewalk being forced out into the street. Skaters being "dunbasses" become everyone elses' problem. This is exactly why laws were put into place to restrict skateboarding in certain areas.

@richtxn47 "weren't these kids minors"
Four of the skaters were minors. Two were adults, ages 19 and 21.

Pretty much the same kind of punishment that can be assigned to adults. Juveniles just have different detention facilities.

Casey was resisting arrest. The force was justified.

AndroidBattleTrooper 2 weeks ago
@haloreachsparten117 "so all of a sudden it's the law to ride a skateboard"
Actually, it's an established fact that it is a violation of city ordinance to ride a skateboard, bicycle, or rollerblades on the sidewalks in Hot Springs, Arkansas. The skaters knew this as well. This is why the skaters pled guilty or no contest to their charges in court.
I don't know if anyone ever explained this to you, but the police don't make the laws. They simply enforce them.

yzs4life 3 weeks ago
@yzs4life "its not like they were destroying any property or anything"
No, they were just forcing the pedestrians to have to move out into the street or jump out of the way. Skating ordinances are put in place to protect the pedestrians and also business property. These thugs chose to willfully violate this ordinance even after they were given a warning by the same officer. They brought this on themselves. Speculating about Officer Williams' childhood isn't going to change that fact.
AndroidBattleTrooper 3 weeks ago
@AndroidBattleTrooper so the skaters and bikers and rollerbladers dont matter to the city their just supposed to jump in front of cars? that was a wide ass sidewalk with not many people on it no pedestrian even has to move the skaters just go around them. why the fuck would that city discourage recreational activities I think its fucking bullshit, basically making it illegal to exercise FUCK THAT CITY AND FUCK THE POLICE
governordyrssen 2 weeks ago

There are plenty of places in Hot Springs that skaters, bikers, and bladers can legally partake in their activities. The sidewalk is not one of these places.

AndroidBattleTrooper 3 weeks ago
@wsouth1988 "and way out of line for such a minor offense"
I didn't realize that Resisting Arrest, Fleeing, Interference With Law Enforcement, and Battery were minor offenses. These are the offenses that various skaters were charged with committing that day. None of the skaters contested their charges in court.
AndroidBattleTrooper 3 weeks ago

@governordyrssen "Resisting arrest is the same thing as fleeing"
No, they are not the same in the state of Arkansas. That is why Officer Williams made the distinction between the two charges. But regardless of that, both are illegal in the state of Arkansas, so you have no valid argument here.
AndroidBattleTrooper 2 weeks ago
@governordyrssen "cops just want to be assholes and get you in more trouble"
The skaters got themselves in more trouble by choosing to flee and resist arrest. Officer Williams is not responsible for the skaters choosing to violate the law.
AndroidBattleTrooper 2 weeks ago
@governordyrssen "I fail to see how talking is interfereing with law inforcement"
The "talking" as you refer to is not what constituted the Interference charge for Brindley. Since you apparently played this video with your eyes closed, I'll explain exactly why Brindley was charged with Interference. At 2:01, Officer Williams is attempting to place Casey under arrest, although Casey now begins to resist. At 2:06, Brindley walks very close to Officer Williams and begins to shout
AndroidBattleTrooper 2 weeks ago
@governordyrssen at Williams as Williams is struggling with Casey. Because Brindley's presence constituted a potential threat to Officer Williams' safety, the other officer (who is trying to take McCormack into custody as well) grabs a hold of Brindley and pushes him towards Williams. Williams now has to contend with two persons struggling against him. Because of this, Casey was able to escape from Officer Williams, although she was apprehended later. You can not interfere with the police
AndroidBattleTrooper 2 weeks ago
@governordyrssen while they are engaged in the course of their duties. Not only is that common sense, but it's also the law. Had Brindley allowed Officer Williams to arrest Casey, he would have only been charged with violating the skating ordinance instead of at least four other offenses. Brindley was an idiot. And you're an idiot for not being able to see this.
AndroidBattleTrooper 2 weeks ago
@governordyrssen "and the only one who commited battery was the fucking cop"
Battery means that you injured a person as a result of your illegal actions. Since Officer Williams' actions were entirely legal, the charge of Battery does not apply to him. Also, none of the skaters were injured as a result of Officer Williams' legal actions. If they had been injured, it would be their own fault anyway. When you resist arrest, flee, or otherwise become combative with the police, you are

The only person who sustained an injury in this event was a 67 year old community services officer. He was injured by the oldest skater, Matt McCormack (age 21), when McCormack struck him with his elbow. McCormack later pled no contest to the charge of Battery
