That's right. The landing gear is the same one the Hydra(Harrier) uses. An X-wing lands on skids not on wheels. They forgot that when they made the mod.

It's called the "hydra" because vehicles in GTA, probably for licensing reasons (and the fact that a lot of car manufacturers don't want their cars directly associated with GTA-like violence), never calls its vehicles by the names of the real-life vehicles they look like. That goes for the x-wing too.
