  • Cruise got the Golden Globe for this; it’s just a crying shame he had to come up against Daniel Day Lewis and lose out on the Oscar. His performance in this film is nothing short of exceptional.

Pair it up with his outstanding turn in Rain Man (Hoffman should’ve shared the Oscar with him) and I’m willing to forgive him for being a bit Looney Tunes.

  • a veces no hace falta palabras para expresar algo, creo que la musica lo hace por si sola.

  • can someone please post a piano version of this delicate music?

  • The movie to this soundtrack reminds me of today's times, we need a Ron Kovic to start a revolution and end these wars in the middle east.

  • seriously, the first minute of this song gives me goosebumps.

  • beautiful score.. one of my all time favorite john williams tracks

  • john williams is the KING of soundtrack's!

  • VIETNAM: THOSE WHO WOULD DENY EQUALITY WERE FIGHTING THOSE WHO WOULD DENY FREEDOM. THE "BUDDHA" UNDERSTOOD THE PSYCHIATRIC EQUIVALENTS AND TRANSFORMED, BUT THE EASTERN RELIGIONS, AND BUDDHISM, AND J-C TRADITION ARE THE ****SAME*** RELIGION. MY OWN NEPHEW AND NIECE-IN-LAW WILL RED FLAG ME IF I SAY MORE THAN THIS: MOHAMMED IS "INTERESTING" CAUSE HE WAS EQUALITY. AS A LIVING SENTIMENT, MOSES: FREE CHRIST: B/SISTERHOOD BUT MOHAMMED WAS EDUCATED BY A WOMAN WHO WOULD BECOME HIS WIFE. UNITE

Otherwise, where in Syracuse did he realize arrogance and fraud?

  • If the oceans are dying, which they are, you and I have no time left to waste.

Ronnie Kovic's experience suggests we should stop running from freedom, equality, b-sisterhood TO freedom, equality, b-sisterhood (which is love,) only to run back to it only to still be stuck in arrogance, ego-defense, transference, paranoia, fear, withdrawal.

  • While the offnsv paranoids tote their phallic symbols onto Texas campuses in paran fashion, those men on their way to trashing their lives, just as the Baghdad House of Knowledge was trashed, Ronnie Kovic’s epiphany occurred on a campus of maturity, great humor, craving of growth, need for knowledge, equality, liberty and brotherhood /sisterhood and compassion--yet founded by an oilman’s right hand man, on the site of Hiawatha and the Wizard's creator. working

  • Will someone tell me why I cry everytime I hear this music? Not cry, but SOB. I cannot explain it. Does anyone else experience this? I have never heard such emotional music ever-I think. Perhaps its that I was 18 in 1969. I remember the draft. I remember the boys my age who went. I asked my friend one day about her brother who had served and was going back for a second term as a helicopter pilot. He's become an opium addict she said-he's going back to get it. GOD NO MORE Roselle

  • @earledd51 If your a veteran like myself, it's automatic, I joined after 911, I finished my tour and came back to a society that was unappreciative, I did my job, but nobody cares, but I wont forget my sacrifice, 82nd ABN DIV.

  • @earledd51 I do I think because the score is so honest about devastion of war and what it does to the human condition

  • Tom Cruises only good performance.

  • @Oevlisen Uhh no

  • @TheRocknRollfreak I think it is :)

  • @Oevlisen You obviously have not seen Jerry Maguire, Collateral, Magnolia, Risky Business, Rain Man, A few good men, taps or some of the other good performances hes put in some great movies. Maybe if the media didnt exploit and manipulate his political and religious views he would be praised for his work and then he wouldnt be so underrated.

  • @TheRocknRollfreak I have seen these movies and I didn't like them. Its just a matter of taste. It has nothing to do with that his scientology, if he wants to fuck up his and his family's life in that way, then let him I don't care. But it doesn't make me change my mind that I rarely like him in his movies.

  • @Oevlisen Good acting isn't a matter of taste either it's good or bad. Plus if you don't like him so much why have you seen all those movies? And who says he's fucking up his life you wouldn't know its not like you actually no his life you only know the life the media presents to you. Like I said before most people like trash news like the medias exploitation of an actor but some smart people look past that and can see the hard work that goes into acting and doing good performances.

  • @TheRocknRollfreak You sound like a freakin moron.

  • @Oevlisen I obviously proved you wrong haha can't come back with an answer or anything? lol

  • @TheRocknRollfreak Naah mate, when I read your reply I was simply just too stoned to reply. Like I said earlier I don't give a fuck about his life, in my opinion I would never make the choices that he has, that was my point. But I in the most movies I think he sucks. And yes, it is a matter of taste.

  • my birthday is on the july 4 :D

but wikipedia said hes born on july 3

  • OOOOH MAN I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR THIS THEME SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO LONG..

    THIS IS GOOSEBUMP STUFF

  • yes i can relate, he was proud of being an american and fought for his country because they needed him, he didnt go to kill people, he just wanted to contribute, you dont have to support the government or even the soldiers, but have some compassion for the PEOPLE fighting for us.

  • ...powerful movie, and sountrack

  • The music is just out of this world beautiful, and John Williams will never run out of ideas and the emotion it takes to compose like this. None of us will ever agree on war, so no sense arguing the point.

  • You people obviously didn't get message of this movie.

    This is an ANTI-WAR movie.

  • @DictatorRoB this is a patroitic anti-war movie! Loved america and did not agree with the war.

  • A brilliant soundtrack for a brilliant film. First it was Jaws, then Star Wars, then Indiana Jones, then ET, now this. John Williams never seems to run out of steam. Amazing.

IMO, the score really captured the patriotic spirit of Kovic, what his hometown and country meant to him.

  • Happy Birthday Ron Kovic, happy 4th of July to every American; RIP to our fallen heroes!

  • Y think that the families of those soldiers who lost their lives in afganistan and irak, should have seen this movie.

  • great movie

  • A film that left its mark on me, and has stayed with me forever. A great sound track and great acting. I am Scottish and dont understant why the USA treated these heroes the way they did. People like Ron Kovic gave their limbs and lives to do their duty for the USA. Its young men like this that were my heroes and still are. These young men were the real deal. The ultimate sacrafice. Jim

  • thanks for putting this track on you tube. I have such good memories of the year this movie came out but on the other hand I couldn't sleep for 2 weeks after seeing it.

  • Beautiful, this soundtrack awakens me feelings like sadness, regressions and self accomplishment, another well composed music for a great movie.

  • the movie waz epic..tom cruise best perfomance that dude will ever do...wars r worthless..only heroes die wile da men in da gray suites avnt got a fuckin clue....

  • @2tuppac I read over your comment about four times trying to make sense out of it, then I looked over at your username and stopped trying.

  • Most of the music reminds of medal of honor games.

  • Tom Cruise's best performance.

  • @WesMantooth73 yeah I dont understand why he didnt get the academy ward for this one

  • @WesMantooth73 Yeah, but he looked disgusting with that long beard and hair

  • @WesMantooth73

Cruise's best performance and Stone's best film.

  • I shed a tear during the first minute and a half everytime I hear this, it makes me remember all my friends who were to young to die.... Wars change the people that fight them dont. Semper Fi!!
