haha, i like how cats is in the description. You guys are honestly great. i've played most of my life n cant pull off half those tricks. keep doin what your doing
@michaelscott911 what for an english semi pro team. Only 20-40 (5-15% for premier league) of Englands academy youth players go pro and most of them play in lower league sides. The rest go other jobs+play semi pro. Englands have multi million pound academies, their coaches are ex pros. So if UK players are at 20-40% what do you think US chances are for going pro 5-15% what about top tier league 1-5%? btw englands best academies= West Ham, Leeds, Crewe, Man City, Arsenal, Boro, Leicester City.
@98raza20 Soccer here in the U.S is growing. Football, baseball, and basketball have ruled for YEARS. And why do u think the english, german , and other european countries are the best? because the sport is embedded in their countrys tradition for ages. Theoretically the best atheltes in europe play soccer. The US is without a doubt has the best athletes. They just arnt playing the right sport. Every kid in the us wants to play football, baseball, basketball, tennis, billiards, then soccer.
@Drewconnerchicagofir now that is why people think Americans are ignorant "The US is without a doubt has the best athletes" how do you know that? you compared every single countries medals to the US in every single sport extremely unlikley, you put every single athlete side by side with an American athlete and compared them? no, so how do you know? you don't. It wasn't Bush it isn't rednecks it was common americans making idiotic comments like that. Usain Bolt is better than American runners.
@Drewconnerchicagofir and also what did i say the best european leagues, like England, Spain, Germany may be old but look at the 10 yr old Russian Premier League it is in top 10 soccer leagues, while MLS which is 17 yr old is still one of the worst top tier leagues in the world. now stop making excuses. And Russian didn't use to play real soccer until about the same time as the US did, it has played ice hockey, bandy, figue skating ect much longer.
@98raza20 great for the russian league. We dont even fill half the stands on average. Therefore we cant pay huge players to come play here. i will admitt the fact that there is money and it is used on stupid things ( beckham) ,but the MLS is not stable enough to pay big time players yet. We have DP contract rules. And by the way we dominate in Basketball, Football, baseball, etc. And if soccer gets more and more popular here, and kids in the city start playing at a young age your all screwed.
@Drewconnerchicagofir soccer is the most popualar sport in the majority of the world's countries and kids in the countries where it is most popular begin on say average 2 or 3 sometimes older like for example Ireland where i lived for a bit as a kid, people love the sport, yet this year they didn't even qaulify for the 2010 World Cup, once you do start loving the sport, you will be behind the 20 or 30 other countries that want to win the world cup who have loved the sport since like the 1960s.
@Drewconnerchicagofir what makes America a potential soccer power house? Ur league is failure, it was created in 1993 while the Russian Prem League, created in 2001 is 10x better. ur national team is celebrating the fact that you got past the group stages of the WC! and ur kids don't care about soccer once the realize the cool kids play Football leaving a small minority of kids who get coached in crap facilities by amature coaches, Euro kids play in $ multi million facilities by ex pros.
@98raza20 any serious irish kids end up crossing the border and being snapped up by an English academy which for American kids is very difficult unless you have a euro passport like Greenfield did so he could go and play for Athletico Madrid academy. some of the best coaches in the world at clubs like Ajax, West Ham, Leeds ect say america's problem with youth soccer is yous expect it to be competitve. in europe player development is valued more than making the play offs or points unlike in US.
MLS has not improved. Look at the Russian PL, formed in 2001 it is ranked very highly by fifa and eufa. look at mls formed in 1993 one of the worst top tier leagues in the world, and everything says you shouldn't. US have money, their sports obsessed and have a large population. Look their are 18 teams in mls, say each one got an average of 20,000 attendence a yr (18 x 20,000=360,000) so for a population of 310 million only 360,000 americans attended a MLS soccer match on average in a year.
